I've been working at a hack in my spare time, and its coming along nicely. I'm having a problem getting the overworld to work out right though.

On the first world, yoshi's island, I moved the mountain to the side. When mario completes the level before the mountain, he follows the path I created up the mountain. The thing I don't like is that the path is still dark, as if it hasn't been cleared yet. Also, the original path shows up to the side of the dark path

Can someone address this problem?

yea i already looked into small hackers faq. he only covers the very basics of overworld hacking. I got rid of the old path showing up, but the dark path still won't lighten once mario clears the world.

Also, does anyone know how to make two worlds available at the start. I changed the location of the levels, but the game won't let me take the path to the world.

Well I'm hoping someone can help me too as I'm having some major problems with backgrounds, and for some reasons even after following the instructions I get glitchy backgrounds. I don't know how to take pictures inside lunar magic either , so please don't yell at me

Okay I download the file, and I extract it with winzip. I rename the .bin file to ExGFX80. The map16 and map16G files are put in the same file my hack is in.

Next I boot up Lunar Magic and press the mushroom to import the files. That seems to work alright up to that point because I don't get any error messages. I go to Super GFX bypass and check the box that allows me to manipulate the things in there.

I go to FG3, and choose ExGFX80.(This file wasn't there earlier, so I must have done something right)
Nothing happens, no error messages or anything I mean. I go to the add objects button and scroll to Direct Map 16 access. And to my horror I see nothing but glitches.

I will post them if there is some way to take snapshots on lunar magic without digital camera.

Sorry that that is long....but one last thing. Do any of those files give you backgrounds, or are they all foreground. Thank you, and please help if you can.

Ummm...What your saying doesn't make sense to me sasuke...so I'm sure I didn't do that. How do you import it.

I was on a blank test square with everything cleared away though.

^^^You are a god among men. TY very much.

This gives me foreground, do any of the things in the ExGFX workshop give you backgrounds. Or is that were you have to mess around with that YY-CHR program. I know thats for ripping, but do you need it for new backgrounds to.

Ah! I'll have to try that. My overworld was far to green for my liking. Now I'll be able to switch colors around.

Doh! I'm sure theres some easy explanation for this, but I'm not seeing it.
After I bring up the map16 editor, I bring up the background editor. (That is what you use to paste the new things into the background right?)

But the map 16 just reverts back to the old background.
