I was listening to some good undeterminable jazz on my tv because it's so hi-tech it has fm radio, but now I've switched over to Phantom Of The Opera by Iron Maiden. Most of it's a fast 6/8 song with interesting vocal melody that goes with the lead guitar occasionally. Then right after the 'break' in the song, there's a neat tapping section started by the bass. After that, the bass has a pretty awesome part all the way to the end of the song. It's great stuff like this that started progressive metal.

I would put my "AA" of R3 pic here, but I did it on Konamix, got 26 greats and 1 good, which evily became a B. It was just to see what happened the one time I didn't routine the song. No special arcade feats yet, I can get an A on Afronova sometimes and should be able to max combo Holic almost every time now. Max 300 for me goes well into the song, the long streams after the freeze right before the 5-note-hit section kills me. In SM, I can do most oni songs (that aren't made solely to stomp on peoples holes), though Juppongatana started giving me trouble again. I've managed to get through Quasar on rate x 1.3, it opens the timing window much but is still really flipping fast. If I could (I'd rather wait until someone else does) I'd make a simfile of 'Paradigm Shift' by Liquid Tension Experiment, but I've tried the method Bemanistyle suggested to no avail. It might have had something to do with making the song span over 3 songs, since the entire thing clocks in at 8:54.

If Ganondorf was in again and could use his sword for a few moves, that would be swell. I hate it when characters have cool stuff that they don't use (or don't use well, like Cervantes' pistol in SC2). I hope they take the Ice Climbers out and replace it with either someone from EarthBound or Diddy Kong, whose moves would probably have to be completely original. I'm for having Mew as a playable, and Mewtwo taking up Pichu's spot. Ridley could make a good character, maybe having floaty/flying movement somewhere between Peach and Mewtwo. I'm not sure if I want Mr. Game&Watch to stay in or not, there's probably some other obscure character who could do just as good a job (I.E., Bomberman or Olimar).

Most people I know hate it, but Super Milk Chan is one of the funniest shows I've ever watched. The random live action and exploitation of 'immature humor' is what makes it great. Dr. Slump (I believe it's only a manga) is Akira Toriyama's most humorus series out of what he's done, having some of the funny and cute feel of Azumanga Daioh. There are those who watch la blue girl for comedic reasons, but we can't discuss that here...

Posted on 03-23-06 01:12 AM, in Smoking Marijuana Link
Smokin' doobies is not a good idea, and won't be legal if congress can collectively produce a human thought. I think the only possible way marijuana would be legal in the U.S. would be if we had no other way of making money, and introduced it as a product with a sin tax like booze and cigarretes. Because of its not-as-addictive nature, huge amounts of people would use it more than their brain and lungs can afford, and then America would not only be fat and mediocre, we'd be fat and blacklunged and stupid. For those of you who think weed has no harmful effects, I'd like to relate these lyrics from Primus's song DMV (I'm pretty sure Les Claypool knows what he's talking about):

"When I need relief I spell it thc
Perhpas you may know vaguely what I mean
I sit back and smoke away huge chunks of memory
As I slowly inflict upon myself a full lobotomy-call it pointless"

Anything you roll up and smoke is doing damage to your lungs, a joint is no less of an asbestos cylinder than a cigarette, quite more in fact. If the topic was 'eating marijuana', more of the arguments i keep hearing for it would make sense.

I guess right now they seem like a great candidate for a scapegoat. They have what America wants more of (I.E. skinny people, art, grace, nudity, love, (techno?)) and their main political view go against ours much of the time. They're also easy to make fun of because of their military past, and are cooperatively disliked by the British, our great ally. I hate it when people on tv who have the talent of knowing what they're talking about suddenly pull something like bashing the French. I thought this fad was getting old by the way, it's making nobody smarter and I sure hope it goes for good.

Posted on 03-23-06 01:59 AM, in Church Endorsed Politics Link

The way it should be is that a church will tell its members to pray about the issue of who would be the best person for the political spot, not have full belief in one sinner like them. No priest, nor pastor will answer you as God will. In Christian faith, the way it's supposed to work is you have as great of a personal bond with God as you can, so through prayer you will know the truth. If your prayer is heard and answered, you can make your choice without discussion and never feel disagreement with yourself. People are not really looking for church and state to be separated, they are looking for pride and state to be separated, which will never happen here. Adding or subtracting religion from politics will have no effect as most think it will.

At least in Christianity, faith goes before jobs, so that would be idolatry to follow. Acting like People is coming across as using only logic (even gut instincts and past biases would be something you'd believe in or not, belief being a root in religion). Computers are capable of this same logic, and then we'd completely do away with politics. Therefore, there is always going to be faith of some kind in politics, so whether or not it is a religion makes no difference.

Guitar is definitely easy enough to self learn, ecspecially that three-chord acoustic stuff that women somehow think is fabuolous. The best style to start with is jazz, it combines both lead and rhythm parts often and is also great for learning improvisation. If you're a crazy enough dude to play classical guitar though, that probably requires lessons.

Good keyboards are expensive, but always worth it. I have a 61 key yamaha that will suffice for now but not long, I'm trying to get a Korg Triton or Roland synthesizer.

Sex In A Pan by Bela Fleck & The Flecktones

This is a kind of fusion/funk song that's pretty laid back, with the main melody carried by the soprano sax. Really good bass groove later in the song, Les Claypool has nothing on Victor Wooten. Most of The Flecktones' music sounds like it could come right out of an old Sonic The Hedgehog game .

YEAH!!

but on to my suggestions:

::Mötorhead - The Ace of Spades!
This song still resides deep in the land of awesome, I don't know what else to say...

::Metallica - Fight Fire with Fire
Lesser known really fast Metallica song that has their older, thrashier sound.

:: Pantera - Regular People (conciet)
I think it's their best riff ever, up there with By Demons Be Driven.

(if you can pull off Dream Theater's Stream of Conciousness, that'd get you very recognized)

Posted on 03-31-06 07:13 PM, in What genre do you think the next Transformers game should be? Link
I think a Transformers MMORPG would be exellent. Since everyone would be mecha, respawning would be pretty different than normal. There are so many different characters from over the years and kinds of vehicls that transform, and the story is big enough to have tons of servers comparable to WoW. The series has enough story to keep a game like that running for at least 6 years.
