The game is fan-translated, which means that it is licensed and far from free... But there are ways around that, of course.

I coincidentally happen to be reading the game even as I type this post, and I have to say there's a lot happening behind the scenes that I appreciate. I'm not particularly fond of the "ero" part of it (I could easily write better slash fiction  ), but I'm willing to bear with it as it largely does not affect the plot and the depth of the story beyond that is easily some of the best imaginative work I've seen in years.
What I like is that in spite of all of my attempts to actually get inside of Shiki's head and see what he's seeing and thinking, even his own thoughts seem to betray him -- his mind lies to him because there's still more that he himself feels he shouldn't see. It's a worthwhile read... In spite of this, I do have some issues. There's a lot of repetition, for example. Characters thinking something and then saying it seems to be a by-product of the translation, but a lot of the text could theoretically be cut from the game and the same overall effect would have been received. Much of it is for feeling, yes, but there are still a few instances of redundancy here and there that I feel the game could have gone without. Also, Phil is quite correct: Melty Blood is awesome.

I'll give you this: I suck at flipping, and about the most impressive thing I can do is hurdle a Jersey barrier or vault up a wall about my height at a full run, but I'm a fan of what you did at the end there, jumping across from post to post like that.
