I'm not Xkeeper...

And also, the green coins are thus far impossible for anyone to get. Another BOARD SECRET ZOMG.

There are no RPGs, but you can give the Simbattle and Story Forums a shot. We're always open to new members. It's just not stat-based, is all.

EDIT: Riku, we're just bored.

EDIT2: Koneko, I think you're thinking of the wrong definition of Fixed for our purple cat friend here...

Grey, in the meantime, was tearing into the festivities the moment he got his hands on a soda. It was somewhat hard to be a true party animal, however, when all he could think about was where Sig had run off to...

Grey (thinking) : 'I do hope he's all right... I'd hate to imagine what would happen if the little guy got himself into any more trouble.'

He remembered the incident with Grubba as he solemnly took a sip of his drink. Sig had fought valiantly, but in the end he had knocked himself out. Yes, it was for the good of the battle, but it worried Grey that Sig would leave the Glitz Pit. At the same time, however, it lifted his spirits to know that Sig wanted to get stronger. Grey smiled to himself as he imagined Sig going off on some crazy training adventure and coming back and ruling the Pit as the greatest legend it had ever seen.

A koopa without a shell... How little Grey knew...

Rixe would discover immediately upon turning on the light that he was NOT alone. A completely unconscious young man of about twenty years of age lay trapped in the fridge with him. He lay slumped against a vegetable cooling drawer (it was one of those extra-extra-large fridges; plenty of room), not so much unconscious as he was... well...

...Oddly enough, he was snoring. It looked like a simple scream from someone who had not in any way expected to find a body in their refridgerator would wake him up.

---------------

An elderly man with the grandmother of all comb-overs approached the boy and girl as they stood longingly outside the store's back room. He didn't look very surprised to see them.

Shift Supervisor: "'Fraid I can't let you in there, Mister and Miss. I know what you're thinkin'. 'They gots them GameStation Threez and we gotta get one or else our lives will be over'. Lemme tell ya, son, back when I was yer age, we 'ad jus' came out with that thar Spacewar game fer them computers that were all the size o'a 'friggerater there. Why, that fridge over thar..."

He pointed to the fridge that was being wheeled around that Grey and Rixe were inside of...

"...Coulda easily passed as one o'dem old computers. Not like these laptops we gots t'day. Here, come, lemme show y'all."

He attempted to guide them towards the computer section of the store.

Inu: "Sigmund, I don't want to see you coming to work late again! And next time, those floors better be clean enough for me to eat off of, or I'm gonna tear you a new one and a half!"

Arnold Inu was a self-serving man in his early thirties who sported a tacky tie and an even tackier haircut. He reeked constantly of gel and Axe, and had that annoying smile that would make a man rip his throat out if he held it for more than four seconds. He had three weeks' paid vacation a year, a new beamer that shined as brightly as his smile, and a massive insurance policy that he had taken out on it. His house, his TV, his wife's breasts, everything about him was enormous, and he loved to think big.

Well, almost everything was, anyway.

His attitude had gotten him a middle-management position at Neocorp, a fast-rising technological conglomerate responsible for hundreds of innovations, from the self-flushing toilet to the triple-layer DVD, all in the name of profit. He constantly intrigued with other middle-management jockeys for a position among the upper-management, who in turn intrigued with other upper-management jockeys to keep the middle-management positions down and make their own jobs all the more lucrative. Inu had never even seen a member of the elusive and apparently all-inclusive "board".

But this isn't Inu's story. This is Sigmund's.

Sigmund was an aging janitor for the lower levels of Neocorp whom Arnold Inu loved to bully around. Everywhere outside of his job, Sigmund was a reasonably good-natured man; his kindness and wisdom grew in inverse proportionality to the color and volume of his hair, and he delighted in digging in his garden in the backyard of his small, modest house. He lived alone, having never had the guile or ruthless attitude to truly pursue a wife (or husband, for that matter). His family visited on the holidays, and he sent out postcards when he needed to, but in large part he lived in seclusion, always ready to share a story of his youth with the kids.

Even the dirt he was kind to: He always dug gingerly, with no hurry in his movements, making sure to get the roots just right and the holes just deep enough so that the seed would sprout without trouble. His garden had always rewarded him; it was his one true friend in the world.

One day, he had decided to make his garden a good bit bigger. He had decided this as Mr. Inu was yelling at him not to be late. Sigmund was never actually late, always right on time. But because Mr. Inu had never seen him come in on time, he assumed that Sigmund was instead late, and as such he would constantly drag Sigmund into his criticism. The hypocrisy of the situation was that Inu himself was almost always a few moments late to work, and as a result immediately assumed that everyone else would be late, as well.

The grass where Sigmund dug was soft and yielding, a sign of never having been trampled on a day in its existence in Sigmund's backyard. He pushed his spade beneath the earth, throwing piles of dirt left and right, reminding himself to replace them carefully when he had finished.

However, his reminder was cut short when his spade hit something hard. Something very inordinately hard. Something that made a muffled noise when he struck it.

???: "...ey!"

Puzzled, Sigmund dug further and further. He brushed a few bits of earth aside, and stared at what lay before him. A handstrap to what looked like a massive duffel bag... His attempts to pull it out of the ground were futile; it was just too heavy for him to budge. He heard the voice again...

"...ink you... ..oing..."

Now, Sigmund was not a God-fearing man, and he did not believe in magic beyond the kind that involved rabbits, hats, and Michael Caine, but seeing a large bag full of who knows what talk to him was more than enough to make him believe that perhaps today was not the best day to expand his garden. The sun was setting as it was, and he had been working all afternoon. He resolved to simply get the bag out of the ground and try again tomorrow. Perhaps if he took some of the things out of it?

He searched in the hole he had dug for a zipper on the bag. With much effort, he had managed to wipe the dirt and dust away from it to the point where he could pull the zipper open. He didn't quite expect what happened next.

Satchel: "Thank you..."

Sigmund felt a strange force overcome him as the bag's opening drew him closer and closer inside. He screamed, naturally, but the near-magnetic power of the bag prevented anyone around him from taking any kind of notice. A bright blue light shot upward from the hole like a spotlight for just a moment, turning the heads of several passerby, who then proceeded to go about their evening business.

When the light faded, Sigmund sat on his knees, alive, well, and able to lift the bag out of the ground without effort. He grinned, his eyes glowing a sky-blue hue, as caked dirt fell from the bag. He could see inside, outside, all around him. It was as if...

...As if his soul were one with the bag, a phylactery of spirit.

Sigmund: "...Very much for freeing me, Mr. Sigmund."

Grey: "The old archives were useful. I used to know your every trick and move, but that's probably long since changed, especially since you're apparently of the 'retired' status. Inactive, you see? Still enlisted, but inaccessible."

He took a step to the side and drew from nowhere a baseball bat that looked like it had seen better days. Shouldering it, he cast a glance at Rain before turning his attention back to Hiryuu. It was tough not staring at someone who looked so completely out-of-place...

"Now, bear in mind that I am egotistical, I am thrillseeking, and I am a madman, but I am also polite. You still have a chance to back out. If not, I'll just let you make the first move. Don't worry, I'm ready for you."

He reached into the pocket of his vest casually, as to suggest that he was not at all worried about what was about to ensue. In fact, his hands closed around a small toy...

Grey was hit square on the head by the punch and was slammed directly into the ground, his head crushed into a bloody pulp. Pieces of grey matter and bone meshed with the cracked floor tiles from the impact of his head as the baseball bat went flying, and the yoyo in his pocket flew towards the sideboards of the arena and smashed to pieces.

Needless to say, the body didn't get up. A voice rang out inside of Hiryuu's head...

Grey: "< Not bad, it only took you one hit to kill the double. That's a lot better than everyone else around here. >"

The body on the floor faded into nothingness, and the crack in the floor tiles disappeared as though nothing at all had hit it in the first place. An illusion... Somewhat fitting, for a psychic.

"< Normally, this would be the part where I'd spam you with fake clones of myself and challenge you to find the real one. Naturally, it wouldn't be anywhere near here, because I play it safer than that. Then I'd probably try to get inside your head, trap you in a world of your own nightmares, beat you psychologically... >"

The bat continued flying, and was caught by an outstretched hand that lay in the shadow of the arena bleachers... A figure began to circle around, silently.

"< ...But honestly, I think I like this approach a bit better. >"

The same figure dashed out from beneath the bleachers behind Hiryuu, his movement augmented by telekinetic force. With the light revealing him as the recently-annihilated Grey, the man swung hard at Hiryuu, the bat exploding in a shower of splinters to reveal its true nature-- a long, hard metal rod with a clearly broken end. A basket hilt emerged above Grey's wrist and extended to the bottom of the rod's handle, and it was clear that some kind of magical radiation was coming from it. Of what nature, even Grey wasn't quite sure... What he did know was that it hurt the bad guys, and that was all that mattered.

The dull thud, well... Rang? I guess... True, and Grey flew sideways spinning, but not before a pair of marbles spilled out of the pouch on his belt. He skidded along the smoothly waxed tile, bruised but not beaten. He grinned...

Grey: "You're right, I'm sorry."

He got to his feet and snapped his fingers, rubbing his side with the hilt of his bat.

"You've got three seconds."

Grey: "Nope. Time's up."

The marbles rolled to Hiryuu's feet with a wave of Grey's hand, and exploded like two sticks of dynamite. Dirt and tile scattered everywhere as the explosion occured, kicking up way more smoke than was necessary. Regardless of the actual damage, Grey took the cover for his own advantage, running away and pulling from his vest a small, black rectangular device that he flipped open and poised his finger on the side of. He twisted his back to try to crack it back in place after that kick, and felt something else, felt something much more fragile in his side crack. Badly.

He cried out in pain, realizing that he'd have to reset that rib or else he'd probably start bleeding internally. Not that it mattered in the long run, of course, but it was still an epic amount of pain.

Grey: "Neither is this."

He had neared Hiryuu at this point, and took the small rectangular device in his hand up to meet Hiryuu's angry stare. Jet-black save for a small gray protrusion on its bottom, the device had two screens and a heck of a lot of excess hardware, clearly pimped out from its original state.

Lighter, and most definitely brighter, Grey turned on the Nintendo DS Lite and shone the full power of the backlight that he had personally modified for just such an occasion in Hiryuu's face. There was a bright flash, followed by the swing of a thick metal rod directly afterwards.
