The main thing that stops a virus from being classed as a living thing is its inability to reproduce of its own accord or with another virus of the same type. It has to multiply inside of another being in order to reproduce, like a parasite.

A virus really is just a natural robotic automaton. There isn't much of a debate, they're just in between alive and not alive, and are thus not classed as either, rather than be classed as both.

Right now, in its current surroundings, it's just too taboo. And what's more, it may even be buried under more taboos as our society further divides itself. Hypothetically, when our society becomes a two-faced transmetropolitan mirror of ultraconservatism and hardcore pornography, a happy medium between the two -- artistic nudity that seeks to give a greater understanding as opposed to a cheap thrill -- may be shunned by both sides for each's own reason.

Eight bit theatre has always had a place in my heart: Like JACK, Dominic Deegan, and even Bob and George (for a short period of time, at least), it's one of those comics I can read, go away from for a few months, come back, and have another good read to catch up on what I've missed in the ensuing time.

It knew exactly where to start, to rise, to fall, and to end, and it knew exactly how to end in a way that pulled at our heartstrings and elevated our hopes with the sinewy lift of the arms of the just and the right. Also, it was one of the few sprite comics out there with a frames per second count.  Considering its subject matter, I applaud Kid Radd for being highly original and never actually using any sprites from any real games out there for anything more than a cameo. It added to the appeal!
