Are you really so territorial as to not let each other play each others' games? Nick finished Bully before I even got through the third chapter... |

| I'm in: We just need to make sure we all have the same ROM and save. I'd be interested in doing the Silph Co. run with whatever everyone around me has thrown...
We'd also have to map objectives for each character not related to the gym leaders, too... |

I say "Ace" most of the time... Never had an opportunity to call him Milly, and I'm a yankee bastard so I'm too lazy to say "Ay See Em Ell Em". Other than that, it can be attested to that I call him "Acklum". Probably a bad idea respect-wise... T_T |

I tried this a few years ago... got pretty bored of it pretty quickly. I dunno, pure-text games don't really cut it for me in an adventure format. I'm more a fan of detective-style games like Detective Club or Phoenix Wright. Plus, I just wasn't interested enough in Chrono Cross. Trigger had me in its grip for too long. |

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have something to say about Kirbynite's act of bravery on this night... Let it be known that on the day after thanksgiving we should all be rooting for Kirb to get his Nintendo Wii after a long night of camping out in front of Best Buy on BLACK FRIDAY.

Damn, I wanted to take on the Elite Four with the culmination of all of that hard work... Kinda see what we came out with. It'd also be a load of fun to see that someone was like "HAHA I WILL USE TEH MASTURBALL TO CATCH NOT MEWTWO" and I'd be like "asdkfjasdfjasfjasdjsd x100 great balls go".
|
So yeah, my first time with the Master Ball was wasted on a Slowpoke because I didn't know what it did.
EDIT: *raises hand* I was thinking Silver, since it's way better than Gold. (edited by Grå on 11-24-06 11:38 AM)

OOC: Hiryuu, I'm ready when you are.
|
Grey: "All right, you lot... I've kicked your asses up and down the street, and I won't hesitate for a second to do it again, twice as hard and with twice as much conviction. You gonna give me what I want now?" The unblasted remnants of the Dark Assembly lay in a pile of dazed corpses at Grey's feet, who stood defiant of their latest (and now excessively regretful) decision. His bat was gripped in his hand tightly, and he himself had donned a disapproving scowl. Why did it always have to turn out like this? Congressman: "Yes, please, anything, just don't hurt us anymore!" The tree-like monster grasped at the air in front of him, trying desperately to pull himself out from underneath the bodies. His bulky mass, several times larger than Grey was, had prevented him from doing so. These guys, thought Grey, were really surprisingly weak once you figured out that you had weapons and they didn't. Grey nonchalantly swung his bat at an Orc who had tried to make a sneak attack, and it flew through several podiums before coming to a rest at the wall of the Assembly. Grey: "Fine. I want to have an exhibition match for the neo-age Simbattlers, one with an old relic of the past. I don't care what you have to do to get him, I don't care who you have to bribe or kill or blackmail, but I want him and I want him here, in this dimension. I'll even be courteous enough to provide you with a time and place." He grasped the massive forehead of the creature, and brought his face close. "Tomorrow, noon, Sim Battle Arena A. You know where it is." And with that, he slammed the monster's face into the floor tiles one last time, made a home run out of another pouncing Orc, and snapped his fingers, disappearing into a puff of smoke. He was gone, but the devastation had remained.

Grey: "It'll be any time now..."
|
He kicked some dust around the aisle flooring as he sat in the bleachers of the enormous, open-roofed Arena. The sun shined through the fluffy cumulus like a ray of hope: Grey'd finally be able to show these kids a thing or two. No crazed plots, no fierce sidestories, no off-kilter humor... It'd just be a straight fight. No lazy repostes, or subplots, or even the occasional soliloquy. With any luck, there'd finally be some professionality around here. He lounged. Grey took a deep breath and smelled the air in the arena. In spite of the ventilation, the area still felt musty, like it hadn't been seriously used in a long time. Once Grey really thought about it, he realized that the last time anyone had actually had a solid arena battle was during the last Great Tournament, and those were completely open stadium. Shadow's interference in the construction of the old arenas was genius, allowing for nearly any environment or terrain to be made with nothing more than a thought. Of course, post-reconstruction, all of the battlers had left, and Grey himself knew that he had taken a hiatus from the art of war. Now, fights were conducted in the open, on wrecked city streets and destroyed forests and ruinous plains. How many of those could possibly exist? The world had become quite civilized over the years. Perhaps that man had been correct in his assertion. Perhaps it was time for an exodus. Perhaps not. He certainly hoped not. There was another place, of course, one that lingered in Grey's mind for quite some time... Once this was over, he sought to attend to matters there.

Grey: "Good show, good show..."
|
(thinking) : 'Yes, very impressive... Lights and sound and all. But this is very odd, I don't remember the archives being so...' He looked her up and down as he stepped down from the arena bleachers, clapping wanly as he did. His exp '...endowed? Unless he knows...' Grey cast a quick glance at her build and twitched curiously. This wasn't unfamiliar, but it was certainly embarassing. "Of course, we'll have to cut the formalities short, I am the boy you're supposed to be whupping the ass of, invitation of battle, insult of pride, snide remark about physicality, et cetera. Whatever floats your boat, I've had to break enough faces already to get this rolling." Grey focused his mind. It'd take a quick meltjob, but he was fairly certain he could expose this girl's true identity soon enough. But for now, it was ladies first.

Grey: "That's fine. Stereotypes happen."
|
He pushed past the new entrant and began accosting Rain, not being intimidated by her fire or flash. In the end, after all, they were all just people. He adopted a stern look of his own before crossing his arms and talking her through. "Mind you, I'm not boasting about who's the best or who's the strongest, you know. You're being very rude, assuming the only reason I've called anyone here is for a generic "LAWL I AM STRAWNG" kind of fight. I am a professional. I do things professionally. I'm hoping he does, too. Unfortunately, there aren't many other people around here who regard their status with a degree of such." He prodded her nose after squatting down and getting, as it were, "all up in her face." It was quite a rebellious move from such a nonthreatening fellow... "I'd be a lot nicer about this, mind you, but I've got to pose as some kind of agitator, or else there wouldn't be any balls to this fight at all! So back off, or bring it on, or let him do the fighting and let you do the being way too attractive for your own good. I'm going back out there." He stood, grimaced, and went to greet the new arrival.

Grey looked back and adjusted his glasses. He adopted a slight grimace, and looked remorsefully at Rain before turning back towards the new guy. He didn't like seeing people suffering, but what if she wasn't really suffering, more overreacting to him? Hm.
|
Grey: "Er, well... Mind introducing yourself now?"

HH: Maybe Tim Hortons is awesome in your World Six universe of ice and hammersuits, but down here in Rhode Island, it blows. Tim Hortons destroyed Bess Eaton, the best chain of coffee shops in all of New England. All of the ones I've been to don't know how to make their coffee, and their sandwiches leave much to be desired. Luckily I will still drink it because I have horribly low standards.
|
Generally when I make my own I usually make it strong, I can't stand a weak flavor. I'll drink about 1-2 cups, though there are days when I'll drink three or more. At URI, I'm usually confined to a cup of coffee at breakfast in the dining hall, and every so often I'll get a second cup during the day, or go to the student restaurant in the university's main building to grab a cup of hazelnut for a buck twenty five. Cream and sugar, yes, but Rhode Island has one clear tactical advantage over all other coffee-drinking nationstates: Coffee Milk. When you see someone staring dumbfounded at a coffee milk machine because they just can't understand how milk can be flavored like coffee, you can tell they're not from around here. Alone, it's great, but putting that stuff in your coffee is about twenty times better than chocolate syrup, and it beats the hell out of loading it up with sugar or splenda or aspartame or saccharine. And yeah, Starbucks is weak... I didn't feel a single effect from a triple-shot white chocolate mocha once.
However, I do have to give props to Valcion for his energy drink choices. Monster's really the only good stuff out there nowadays. I've made it my mission to try every energy drink I see at least once, and it's really only come down to Monster and Jolt being the ones that are readily available in RI that I would be willing to come back to. Also, Code Red is considered an acceptable substitute for blood in my veins. Maybe this is why I'm gaining weight... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
