I am absolutely against the use of Twinkle Star in dosages of more than one viewing per lifetime.

Bring back Kafuka! I was born on a 13th, and so was Tommathy! We deserve our evil!

Grey: "Huh, Dark Elves..."

He paused in consideration. Weird, how much he knew about them now that he thought about it. Maybe it was all the reading...

"Dark Elves aren't like Night Elves or Drow. Unlike Drow, they can go out in the middle of the day and it doesn't really hurt them. No more than a sunburn would, anyway. And unlike Night Elves, you've got it exactly right, Kirb. They don't have any real magical power at all. I guess there's just this big axiom about elves and magic that they have to uphold. Sort of a status quo. I mean, if your entire race was universally renowned for one single overarcing racial trait, wouldn't you milk that presence for all it was worth? Probably why there's so much in the way of magically revitalizing stuff. 'Course, guys like me and Jack can't use it at all. No use in wasting our valuable coins."

He licked his lips and coughed a bit.

"Then again, I could totally go for a soda right about now. I'm thirsty like heck."

Grey popped the Tonic and started drinking. He grimaced at the flavor.

Grey: "Well, that depends. Ever played The Legend of Zelda?"

Grey: "Oy, Kirb!"

Grey called out over the screaming populace to his compatriot.

"You know what you could do, is stop talking to people so that they don't keep turning into pigs. Just a suggestion."

OBJECTION!!! *slams table*

I rather enjoy the stylus-only controls, for what little exposure to them I've had. They're tough to adapt to at first, but when you consider that every single button is fire, and the stylus, if you learn to be smooth and steady with your movements (which is what the DS manual suggests anyway), is every bit as good as a control stick. Alternatively, you could use the thumb controls. They pack in that holding strap with your DS for a reason.

Grey: "I could have told you that!"

Outside the shack, the only person who hadn't gone in was slowly revealing the reason why.

His baseball bat flashing left and right, Grey was swinging wildly at a detachment of the small Shadows, who felt that a few moments ago was exactly the right time to strike out at him, and him in particular. Though there were no more than ten of the creatures swarming around him, they melded into the shadows of the already dark wooded path and obscured his vision. He made a big swing to his right, and a lucky shot caught several of the creatures square in the torso. They flew outward and slammed into the earth, exploding into inky blackness. Grey held out his bat, and as it disappeared into nothing the Heartless looked at him for a moment and backed off.

Grey took the opportunity to run straight into the shack, blowing past Kirby and seeking shelter inside its ominous cracks.

"Hoo... Safe. Anyway..."

He shook his head, and pointed at the Tricorder.

"That thing can spout off all it wants about those things... But it'll never really know everything about them. No one will.

In fact, all I know is that they're attracted to the cleanest and purest hearts around, which would make perfect sense in this case. They went for Yami first, since he's still just an infant. What's worse, their Darkness aspect means my abilities won't work on them. Doesn't mean they'll stand up to a fierce beating, though.

There are other things they're attracted to, too... But that doesn't matter right now. Yami will probably be their biggest target."

Grey slumped down against one of the shack's walls. He was beginning to get tired of all of this fighting. Especially considering this new development...

Grey: "I guess Kirb's right. If Troy can use a Keyblade, then he'll probably be a prime target for the ones that aren't terrified of him."

He pushed his glasses up his nose. With all these Heartless around, he was feeling somewhat useless. Instead, he pulled out his DS and began to scribble a little bit into it.

"Yah, we've got hearts and such, (well, except for maybe Smithy) but I mean come on, considering all the ass we've kicked so far, I really think we're not much of a treat compared to sweet little Yami there..."

He wrote into his DS...

"Dear Johnathan,

Found something interesting today... Actually, right as I'm writing you. Bunch of Heartless in a place called Twilight Town... Not to be confused with the other Twilight Town. Do me a favor? I could use some terrain support. See what you can do about the weather.

--G"

Grey tapped send and closed his DS. Hopefully he'd have some wifi service soon.

If I could? There are references in the Mario RPGs that out and out tell you that Bowser kidnaps Peach on a weekly basis. This means that many of the games are probably just another case of Mario running to Bowser and kicking his ass. Kinda like it's his day job.

Grey.EXE: "So why did I have to let him have the data?"

Axel: "Yeah, I can't understand..."

Prinny Axel stood in the midst of ruin, holding a small PET in his hand. The screen glowed, casting a light on the undead penguin and the third resident of the room, a man who wore nothing special, simply street clothes without any kind of armor. It was an unusual condition to be in, considering the state of the world even after the efforts...

Nameless: "There's a good reason why we let him have Grey's old warrior profile."

Axel: "?"

The man grinned. There was a shine in his eyes, which reflected neither madness nor sanity.

Nameless: "It's easy. Grey never had a profile in the archives. All of that data was outdated, from the days when Grey never even existed... He came to this world in order to balance it out, and when he did, certain beings were banished into nothingness, including that incarnation of himself. That weak, bumbling fool that did nothing more than act as a sidekick to a truer hero... All of his data was faked."

Axel twitched. Something sparked in his head, a memory of days long past, but he could barely think through it before the white noise in his mind forced it back down. Like a dream one struggles to remember, it faded into nothingness in seconds.

Axel: "I don't... remember..."

Grey.EXE: "Records show nothing, sir."

The PET glowed with the image of a Navi who looked almost exactly like his real-life counterpart, as opposed to being armored or clad in any kind of cybernetic gear...

Nameless: "This man!"

He held aloft a hammer that only three people in existence could wield... And if he had anything to do with it, that number would be reduced by one sometime very, very soon.

"Kalar has his body and heart, but I have his mind and soul."

Axel tapped a few buttons on his PET.

Axel: "Ey, you understand any of that?"

Nameless: "Any of what now?"

Axel: "Nothing."

Grey.EXE: "Nope, sorry. Nothin'."

Axel grimaced and turned off his PET as Grey.EXE gasped for life before the screen blacked out. Nameless blinked.

Nameless: ".....Great things afoot, or something? Come on..."

He stalked off, stage right, and Axel tottered along behind him.

Axel: "I don't think you know who you're dealing with here, dood..."

A knife sliced straight through reality, and for a moment, a glimmer of hope could be seen in the afterimage the knife left in the air.

"Anyone who says a diamond is forever hasn't been peddling jewels for long."

There was a sharp hiss, and the knife flung towards Urbalos, flying past her head and never seeming to arc downward... The skies split open, and the fat penguin dropped out of the rift that was made there, as a deep blue sky seared across the normally dark and unfeeling air. He held fast to the snake, his peg legs clomping down on her skin and his flippers gripping her with unnatural strength. He simply would not let go...

"You... you don't get it, do you..."

There was a tic in his bright, glowing red eyes as he braced his beak and readied himself.

"Luke's... Luke is this world's last line of defense. He's the X = X + 1. You can't win, dood..."

His body began to glow a dull red color, demonic as the netherworld from whence he was thrown. Soon, it would be time.

"When a virus infects a beast, the normal action is to let the virus run its course. Sometimes the beast dies, sometimes it develops an immunity to the disease. But some things can't become immune, and sometimes they just don't deserve to die. In cases like that, a vaccine becomes necessary. Urbalos... And all of your allies and enemies..."

The glow brightened. There was one thing a prinny could always do that they hadn't seen yet.

"We... Are.... That... Vaccine!"

There was the sound of horrible screaming, of raging pain and misery, and of a loud ringing that came from Axel's now wide open mouth. His entire body glowed of sulphurous fire, and his eyes bulged with anticipation. This was it!

"Prinnicide!!!"

His legs, arms, stomach, beak, all swelled to furious proportions, and his body was hot to the touch. The pouch on his belly vanished into thin air, his possessions no longer necessary. This was the end for him, he knew it, but he knew that his purpose had been served, and he had earned his way through the system. This would be his final redemption.

In a blast of gore and fire, Axel's entire body exploded into a sphere of burning wrath. There was a bright flash, brighter than the sun, brighter than anything the world had ever seen, a nuclear blast of soul energy that radiated from its core, a lost soul struggling to savor its last moments in this world until, until...

"Dooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!!!!!!!"

At last it made itself manifest, the ultimate strength of self-sacrifice in the name of a greater good! Soon the world would realize the truth of his actions, soon the name of Axel would be known, not as a foe, not as an evil, but as a true hero would he reemerge! And this, this final act of destruction would bring his life back into repose, into alignment, and he at the center of it all, would rain destruction down upon his unworthy foe!

The blast expanded outward with the shock of a megaton of energy, setting clouds apart and generating a hole in reality that ripped open like no mere knife could handle... And in the midst of the light, the limp and tattered body of Axel was seen rising into the void... His sewings were torn open, and blood leaked from every seam as he vanished into thin air, muttering one finality as life escaped from him.

"O...ri...gin.... It's.... time...."

And then it was over. The light faded, and what was left to Urbalos was all up to question...

What the fuck kind of advertisement is this?

Seriously, what the hell? What does any of this have to do with video games? Is that footage from Afrika (the game, not the continent)? Is that seriously supposed to be our new living and breathing gaming experience? I'm so angry right now! I am so angry!

Sony's entire ad campaign is "We Have High Definition LOL". That was basically what they spent two minutes and forty four seconds saying in that ad. Where is the gameplay? Where even is the fucking sports footage for all of the Madden fans who are probably going to buy a PS3 for that and to say their tech-penis is bigger than everyone else's? Where is the depth? Where is the content?

And furthermore, what do you do in Afrika anyway? Sony has given us an advertisement whose only actual game footage is of a game that nobody has provided any information about. AT ALL. Where is Metal Gear Solid 4? Where is Assassin's Creed? Where is Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (aside from EVERY OTHER SYSTEM)? Where is Heavenly Sword? Where are all of the GAMES? Sony could have advertised anything but Afrika and gotten a great reaction! They even make reference to violence and a bullet hole in the goddamn ad, but all they show is footage of Zebras eating grass!

What does this have to do with gaming, people?

Where are we headed this winter?

And why am I so mad...?
