He wound up his bat, which glowed with psychic force, and dashed at the Gundam Adonis, charging into him and swinging with all his might in an attempt to send the Cleft skyward! Needless to say, it didn't work. Grey's bat clanged against what we might as well call the spiked rock's skin and ricocheted back at him, sending him off balance and into the floor. "Well, that was a bust." He scrabbled to his feet, and looked helplessly on as a certain gold-shelled Koopa got very, very angry. Sig: "Ain't no need ta be apologizin', Supe. 'Dis 'ere no-good excuse fer a fighter ain't worth nothin' if'n 'e thinks 'e can jus' come in 'ere an' take us on!" Sig charged at the Adonis, bringing his full body weight to bear with his speed and retracting into his shell. He hurled himself at the Adonis, and bounced harmlessly off of him with a physical strike that would shatter a steel beam in two. Gundanium was fairly strong, it was. He flipped backwards, and his shell showed nothing more than another crack, this one larger than before. Sig bounced again and again against his newfound foe only to be less and less effective against the hardening outer skin of the cocky Rocky. The Adonis laughed out loud at Sig's efforts, and soon the Koopa began to tire. Red Adonis: "Hah! Foolish lizard. You have no place in the major leagues, and this does nothing more than prove it!" Sig panted as he bounced harmlessly off, one last time. His shell, cracked and broken now beyond rational repair, glittered against the spotlights of the arena, which until previously had barely kept up with his ramming. If the audience thought that this was a dramatization, they certainly weren't showing it, as a quick glance at the edges of everyone's seat would show. "That shell of yours is nothing more than ----" Sig: "'Dat shella mine is nothin' more'n an in'ibition." Red Adonis: "Eh?" The shell began to crack under its own weight, and slowly, chunk after chunk, fell from its owner's back. Pieces of plated gold fell to the mats with a dull clunking noise, and Sig himself grinned and pushed his shades up his snout. Sig: "It's like I said..." He took a step forward as soon as the shell had completely discarded itself from him, revealing him to be nothing more underneath than a standard frail-bodied Koopa, shorts and tanktop. It was noteworthy, however, to mention that a piece of gold the size and shape of Sig's shell plating would presumably weigh approximately ninety pounds, and much more than that if one were to eliminate the middleman and assume that the shell was, in fact, made entirely of gold. It is also noteworthy to mention that Sig's body weight was only approximately fifty pounds. He demonstrated this sudden drop in body mass by disappearing and reappearing right in the Gundam Cleft's "face", lashing out with a fist and sending him flying into the stadium seating, as NPCs dashed conveniently out of the way of the meteor-like enemy. This was especially impressive when one considered how much larger and heavier the Adonis was than Sig, who looked like nothing more than a small child in compare. "...The shell ain't doin' nothin' but holdin' me back!" And so it was. Its pieces continued to shine in the spotlights of the arena, which had yet to figure out where Sig had dashed off to, like some kind of symbolic representation of a shed past. That, or a broken piece of really, really fine jewelery. What a shame. |

| I don't think the "I'm a fan I can do anything" determination is a bad thing, but it does remind me of a little anecdote from my days of being cut from high school soccer: The team captain once told me that to play soccer, I needed two things: Heart and Skill. I had the heart, I just needed to gain the skill. Of course, I tried as hard as I could to get better, but in the end it just wasn't enough. Determination can only take you so far on its own before you have to really hunker down and learn something. Remember that! It's important advice. If you do want to hack, you have to really keep it clean and dedicate yourself to actually learning a thing or two. Otherwise, yeah, you're just gonna be labeled a n00b. |

| Hrm, I want Disgaea 2 for about the same reason as Hiryuu does.
As soon as I can, I'll pick up Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, as well. I really want to give that stylus magic system a shot, and as an added bonus, it continues the story of Aria of Sorrow, which I was a big fan of in the first place. I'm also trying to hunt down a copy of Grim Fandango. Why, you ask? Because it's old school, and it's awesome. And if I could have a fourth, I'd like Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, as well. Not even to play it, mind you: I just want to see if the estimated 750000 NPCs thing is actually true or not. I can only imagine there's got to be some kind of catch to the whole thing, like they're all the same or the game is lacking in detail entirely, a la Morrowind. |
