#9: First, weigh out five pounds.
Put that on the nine pound weight.
Weigh out another five pounds.
Add what you have to the nine pound weight, what is left is one.
Put that in a bag.
Repeat once. That puts you up to eight steps. The ninth weighing is the one where you put the two pound bag that you've discovered on some kind of counterbalance.

You have a single two pound bag. From here, you can use that two pound bag as a reference point for the rest of the bags, and you don't even need to weigh them numerically, you just have to make sure they're all equal in weight to the first one.

Grey: "Nope, not my style... Not yet."

The dark aura faded as quickly as it had surged, and Grey shook his head. He twirled his bat, thinking all along of his Struggle battles with his friends back home. PVC piping, duct tape, and industrial foam didn't hurt that much, but it made you a hell of a fighter with a blunt object.

Grey made for another dash attack at Jack, his former green aura beginning to flicker around his heels again as he swiped forward with his bat gripped tightly in his right hand... And as the followthrough finished, did a full-body twirl and lashed out with his yo-yo in his left, spinning in a sleeper that was sure to be a knockout!

Grey: "Alchemy? You do that stuff?"

He eyes the Dial and Shroom suspiciously. It didn't look like the kind of stuff he dealt with, at all...

"I dabble in it, myself. But why would you need stuff like that? You can just pick from the local flora and occasional fauna if you're so desperate for ingredients. A lot easier than, uh..."

He looks, well, straight throught he Boo, and raises an eyebrow in confusion.

"Buying... it... from a ghost...? Or use a transmutation circle. Alchemy's gotten a lot more advanced than just Wax + Oil^2 = Flash in recent years. Join the new wave!"

Subway! I'm totally getting on that train. Subway keeps me alive when I have to work 8 hour shifts, sicne there's one right down the street from the store I work at.

Other than that, there's this localized chain of restaurants in Rhode Island called Chelo's, with some of the best chowder on the planet. They make more or less everything, from burgers to lobster to antipasto to triple decker chocolate black forest cake. Any of you Acmlmers comes to RI, we're going to dinner there. That's that.

Other than that, I'm surprised there hasn't been too much popularity on the chinese part. I love a good pad thai.

EDIT: Dani, orange-flavored chicken can be OD'd on. I've seen it.

OOC: Too... many.... references.....

Grey just double-taked once at the mention of the three questions, and popped some popcorn with a jet of fire from his fingertips. He munched on it as the exchange took place, and as he passed by the gatekeeper, he whispered something into his ear...

Grey: "About 11 metres per second for a european. And before you try anything funny, Ashur, Calah, Dur Sharrukin, and Nineveh."

He skipped along, taking out two halves of a coconut that he had found in the Boggly Tree and banging them together in a steady rhythm.

I will now name myself the official Acmlm's Board Microsoft Hate Machine.

Microsoft should have stopped at Mechwarrior III while they were still ahead. Anyone see the figures for the 360 in Japan?

Do you know how many games we carry at TRU for the 360? 18. That's including the special editions to Godfather, NFS:MW, Perfect Dark, and Oblivion. Almost none of those games have any Japanese origin at all, which explains why they're mostly FPS, racing, and war games. If you wanna talk about a console that has no third-party support, it's the 360. The only big hitter that Microsoft really has backing them is EA, and all of its little fun fun companies that it will eventually use to buy out Capcom and Sega. Oddly enough, though, Activision seems very happy about developing things for them, as does Rockstar. Except, you know, all of these companies are still considerably non-japanese in origin. To the four people in Japan that own an Xbox 360 and like it, I salute you. Hey, you know, it's ok that you've only got about five games to play. That's probably all you can afford as it is, what with the average price of the games being ten dollars higher than the world standard due to Microsoft hoping they'd make up the rape that overtook them on console sales via games. On the other hand, to the 10000 who regret buying theirs, I shake your hand and feel your pain.

Phil-sama: I'm not a transformers kid. What the hell's a constructicon?

Thoughtless-san: I am a big, big House of M fan. I'm not too into the old school stuff, unfortunately. Except Dr. Strange. But he's badass. Speaking of which, I'd like to see more of him in the current stuff. Do you know of any newer (like, post 1970s) serieses that focus on him?

Iori-chan: I'm actually not as well-versed on vampire fiction as I seem, but I like Hellsing and Bram Stoker's original mythos quite a bit, as well as the World of Darkness lore, featuring Vampire: The Masquerade as its primary source for fiction on the old bloodsuckers.

Math-kun: Looks like you've already been answered, but more specifically, it's from Bo-bobo Bo-bobobo, a parody of Fist of the North Star that is sometimes known as "Fist of the Nosehair", based on Bo-bobo's, uh, fighting-style-random-fucked-up-japanese-pop-culture-reference abilities. He'd like you to read it as "Sparkling" when it's written.

Kyouji, your conduct is completely out of line. Do not goad him.

(22:29:26) Stylish Alastor: Check modern art

(22:31:27) DetectiveGrey: but I like it, too

(22:31:39) Stylish Alastor: How do you like it?
(22:31:42) Stylish Alastor: It's just...
(22:31:56) DetectiveGrey: Because you're blatantly flaming
(22:32:02) Stylish Alastor: Oh. Okay.
(22:32:25) Stylish Alastor: It's not like I don't have an excuse.
(22:32:32) DetectiveGrey: "This is the stupidest comic I have ever seen" is not constructive.
(22:32:38) DetectiveGrey: It's criticism, but it's hardly helpful.
(22:32:57) Stylish Alastor: This IM puts my logic perfectly.
(22:32:58) Stylish Alastor: RF MarioMaster: Keep this up and he'll probably get banned cause he has a terrible, terrible way to react to things

Ansem, I hate to admit it, but he's right: This comic is not good at all. You need to improve your grammar by leaps and bounds, and you need to credit the people who you got the sprites from BEFORE you use them, so as to prevent situations like Glyph Phoenix's reaction to the comic. You need a much more coherent plot and transitions. To use a prime example of this, your third comic contains a completely unexplained cutaway to a pair of characters that have yet to be introduced, and have nor eason for existing other than to add mystery to the story.

The only problem with this addition of mystery is that you have made no effort at all to make it mysterious. It's with a well-lit room, a background that makes no impression on the reader other than to say "hey, it's a lab. Not a mysterious or evil lair, a lab! ", and it's with a sprite that looks like the main character, and what is clearly a rip of Sigma only slightly altered to look like the person you're attempting to make it look like. With proper storytelling, that single panel could have been an entire comic, or if possible, two comics that contained enough content to properly introduce those two characters as a pair of essential mysterious entities to the story.

The "Next Part Of Part 2" makes almost no sense: You've randomly placed some enemies in front of our heroes with no explanation of why the heroes are there in the first place, or what the enemies hope to accomplish. You have suggested that your mystery character has powers that include thunder from the sky, but have provided the reader with no way to discriminate the means in which he does this from his normal powers. And what's that weird criscrossything that's above "Link"'s head? It looks like a double-helix, but there seems to be no reason as to where the hell he keeps the weapon when he's not using it, as well as where the mystery man got it in the first place.

The bottom line is that you need to take this much, much, much slower. We need more, we need more dialogue, we need more explanation, more action, and less surging the story into our faces.

I am closing this. I want you to go back, start your comic over, and do it with an iota of true thought this time. PM me with your first few comics, and I'll show you what you're doing right/wrong on your next attempt. Do not place junk like this in Modern Art ever again. Art requires more thought and inspiration to it than three seconds per panel. This is not art.
