| Johnathan sighed. He had missed the entire event, having taken a long nap on the wagon on the way home. He had only just woken up... And now he had to deal with the fact that Hikari was injured, when if he had been awake, there might have been something he could have done. He stepped into the room where everyone was congregating, and offered a piece of advice.
Johnathan: "Gohmas are quite serious business, but the poison they exhibit does have a cure. The problem is that the poison itself is so rare that nobody has ever bothered to mass produce an antidote. Moreover, it exists solely to deter, not necessarily to kill. I mean, what kind of Gohma spawn is capable of devouring an entire human being whole? It is not built to kill larger creatures..." |

Sigmund had snuck up on them, moving wordlessly alongside them and eavesdropping on their interaction. He stood at the doorway to the egg house, and nodded, just as Lily had a few moments ago. "Much as I don' agree wit' it, Lily needs ta see this sort of action if'n she's gonna be the best there is at what she does. And it may jus' be that what she does ain't all that pleasant. I wouldn' worry 'bout 'er, either... If'n yeh need be, I'll keep 'er safe when things git hairy. It's tha least I kin do..." He walked up to Lily and whacked her on the head, Lucas-style. "An' you! Yeh need ta stop thinkin' yeh can jus' take on the world like Arminas or Ark can, 'cause right now, considerin' who yeh are and how strong yeh are, yeh CAN'T! An' I can tell ya frum experience, which is def'nitly somethin' yeh need a LOT more of! ...lousy kid, makin' me swear ta protect yeh on me own honor..." He stalked off back into the house to hear the rest of Cedric's plan, leaving Ark and Lily behind yet again. |

| A tutorial battle in the making...
Grey stood in the newly-cleaned Sim Battle Arena A, glancing nervously at his watch. He had hoped this whole thing would go well, it was hard to determine easily whether or not this whole "Real Roleplaying" project of his had gone well or not. There was the incident with Allaura, that hadn't worked out very well at all... Though he HAD learned a few things. And then there was the NPC-bot idea. Ooosh, what a crock that was. Complete failure. But this, this would be an excellent experiment. Breaking the fourth wall was getting even closer and closer of an ideal to attain. He just had to make sure things went absolutely perfect. But for now, he had a date. Grey: "You can come in, now, Shalandra. I'll show you how this works." He was adorned in his usual attire, green vest with pockets, cargo slacks and his DDR shoes. There was a bag of marbles situated at his side, and within his coat were the various other devices he used to defend himself... He faced away from the entrance to the arena, and waited. |

| Grey stumbled forward a few steps, having been clapped much harder than he was used to. He whirled around, and took in the crazy-tall woman that stood before him.
Grey: "Ah! S-shalandra... I hadn't expected you to be so..." He stepped back a few feet. Was tall really the right word to use here? Fire, fire, fire... She was definitely trying to be hot. But she was way too tall for him... Plus, psychics weren't very good with relationships. The whole "trust" issue sorta went out the window when you could read people's thoughts. "So... Tall?" Damn. "Ah, uh, anyway... You're here to learn how we work, right? Fighting, and sometimes striving, and wondering what the Dumple is? I set up this appointment so that I could just sorta show you the ropes. I'll need a demonstration of the powers that you know how to use, so I can gauge my own abilities against them, and see what I need to teach you." He snapped his fingers, and up from the floor about 50 feet to his right came a small, tacky, downright ugly tiffany lamp. Grey shielded his eyes from its horror, and looked away. "Gah, so... tacky, I... can't look at it directly... Do me a favor and destroy that thing." |

He looked her over. She was probably very physically strong, and her mind was like a tank, considering that kind of psychic power. But it seemed very telekinesis-based... Grey preferred energy projection. There was no way he'd be able to penetrate her mind, so mind games were out. In any case... "All right, so you can attack. Let's see how well you can hit physically." He took a few steps away from her, and turned around to face her, bracing himself. "I want you to hit me as hard as you can. Don't worry, somehow I get the feeling that you won't hurt me..." |

| Grey: "Trust me, I'm a master of thought."
He raised an eyebrow in return as Shalandra's fist connected not with Grey's temple, but with a hard, wall-like psychic shield that Grey had brought up as he was walking away. He grinned as her fist pressed still into his mental barrier. "And I don't think it's a good idea to ask someone to hit you without making sure you're using proper protection. Mind you, the shield won't always work, but I don't think you were really doing everything you could at that point." He backed up a few steps again, until he was around 20 feet away from Shalandra. Had to give her an adequate amount of room... "Okay, so we have attacking down, from both a distance and in melee. Now, let's try something a little more complex. I'm going to fire an attack at you, and you have to try to dodge it. You can do any number of things to dodge it, it's just a single attack, and I'm gonna just see if you know how to do this. Get ready, ok?" He pointed his right index finger at Shalandra, and concentrated for a few seconds, before a jet of flames fired out of his fingertip at her! It was only about a foot wide, and it didn't seem to be moving that quickly at all compared to how Grey usually fought. 'I gotta see if she can, first...' "PK Fire Alpha!!!" |

Performing another insane lancer-leap, Sigmund eclipsed the sun for a second as the camera shifted itself to show him dropping in right by the entrance, signaling for Ark to finish running inside. But what about the troops he had been assigned to take out? The common man would see a wad of them situated around where Sigmund had began his spring, but a closer inspection would reveal that all they were currently beating on was a pile of tattered robes and a discarded cardboard box... Sigmund, of course, always carried a spare. "Ark, git in 'ere! S'finally good ta see yeh've got the right path in mind!" He slipped into the cave... | Johnathan: "Considering the position of the sun, I would say that rest is most definitely our best option at this point. We cannot simply putter around without being at one-hundred percent, or our chances of helping Miss Hikari will be greatly jeopardized."
He stretched a little bit... He didn't need to sleep at this point, of course. He had slept enough already. Realizing this, he instead opted to make up for his ineptitude by sitting up and making sure Hikari didn't get any worse. Maybe then he'd feel a little better about not being able to be there. |

But she wasn't staring at him on the ground anymore. Instead, as he said this, he tapped her on the shoulder. PK Teleport for the win. "Mind you, this is an illegal move. And as you can see, I'm up in the air too. Whee, let's walk around for a bit!" He "stepped" back from her again. Grey seemed to like to keep his distance from his foes... But no matter, because his attention at the moment was focused on doing a very odd little jig in the air, which was really rather disarming and alarming to look at. Wasn't this supposed to be a serious fight? "Teleporting, you see, is not necessarily a legal dodge. However, if ya wanna be cinematic like me, then it's perfectly all right to do it. That is, of course, as long as you don't do something like this!" With that, he disappeared again, this time teleporting right into Shalandra's face! He reared back, and left himself wide open to attack before attempting a light sucker-punch to Shalandra's solar plexus. |

I am, after all, here to help protect the ranch and serve the family... Please, allow me to sit up with her." He bowed his head to Kurima, pleased that he had so conveniently gotten the opportunity to be of servitude again. |

He took great care, as well, not to tread on the footprints that Arminas had deemed as belonging to Allison. Quite a lot of action from such an old man... He didn't waste any time from there. Things definitely were about to pick up. Grey executed a telekinesis-powered leap backwards, and reached into the pouch that hung from the side of his belt... "Ever play the Marble Game? I'll show you how we do it around here!" From within the pouch he drew a small, shining bauble... Just an ordinary marble? Not quite. He drew back, and hurled the tiny object at Shalandra. His eyes flashed with a greenish light for just a splitsecond, and the marble suddenly exploded in a firey burst as it came into close proximity with her! |
