He poked Curtis in the shirt, taking care not to wrinkle it in the process (if there was one thing the Bantam Bouncers hated, it was getting their impeccable sense of fashion messed up. THAT was worth an asskicking to them.). Standing on his tiptoes, Sigmund barely reached the buff man's chest, but he seemed all the more imposing because of it. "Yeh, I do, 'samatterofact! Yeh seen anyone from the ribs 'round here lately? You know who I'm talkin' 'bout. The la-li-lu-le-lo won't be wantin' yeh ta be revealin' none o' their secrets, so keep it on the cant, 'kay? I'm wonderin' where the robins're flyin', takin' the springtime off, 'hear, cause there's a hot deal goin' with a few Shines flowin' and we're thinkin' 'bout rockin' the boat a bit. S'long as the sun shines, we're makin' the greats and the shortie wants 'er wick..." While passerby looked on, completely alienated, Sigmund waited for a response... Grey coughed with the fog, and the world coughed along with him. He sniffed in the fog, and the world sniffed along with him. He could feel it taking his mind, and the world could feel it alongside him. Grey: "No... You stupid fool... You don't understand what you've done!" From the ground burst horrifying beings of nightmarish intensity. Great, gaping maws and hundreds of inky black tentacles waved to and fro as mighty creatures of fearsome proportions clawed their way from ground to open air, roaring and gnashing the entire time... "It was you..." With his last breaths, Grey placed a shield around himself, but could hold it for no longer when he collapsed of suffocation and exhaustion. Instead, the world of his nightmares took over as his body evaporated into nothingness, and the skies went dark... In his place, a single being remained. It was a man, tall, with dark eyes and an even darker soul. Though he was not difficult for the keen eye to recognize, this world of Grey's fears made him only a shadow of the truth. He wore no armor, simply average twentysomething's street attire. He held no weapons, save for one... ...A large, heavy hammer that looked very much like a duffel bag on a stick. But Thoughtless, as for you... It's good. You've got the right idea. Don't just keep running for her, seriously... These things, when they DO happen, usually just end up, you know, happening. I'm still of the opinion that you shouldn't change for anyone but yourself, but if you ARE changing for yourself, and you're not just doing it because it's a personal want of yours to be admired by this person, then it's a just cause. Nobody will ever fall in love with someone who doesn't exist, after all... Even if it definitely seems like they do. And Phil: Same here for me, sorry. :\ We rarely play ourselves. But if you've got some good stuff, I'll pay ya for a few cards. As for Anime Boston, no... Neither the time nor the resources to go. You have fun, though. Cosplay as.... something... Sephiroth is a wuss in Kingdom Hearts. The Unknown in KH: Final Mix is about 10x as hard, AND it's a story battle. A story battle you don't have to fight, but still... I never beat the Emerald Weapon solely because I didn't have the Underwater Materia. He was my bitch for about 20 minutes, and then suddenly it was game over 'cause I just didn't have enough air. Go figure. Ruby was kinda tough: I just sorta used the cheapass phoenix trick to keep him from destroying my party members, and it was pretty lucky that I happened to have that reflect ring equipped on my KOTR/Phoenix caster. X-potions are very handy. And that Break materia saved my damn life. Culex is also easy: Whoever has the Lazy Shell Armor is set for life, whoever has the Safety Ring is set for half-life, and the other guy is usually Mario the Glass Cannon anyway. Now Jinx... He was pretty damn tough for the time when I fought his third form. Much more of a challenge.  I never got the Attack Scarf or the Super Jacket.
Still, Zem, you do rock a little harder for your acknowledgement that SMRPG was awesome. As for me... Well, shoot, now I have to remember what RPGs I've actually played. I'd say the version of Metal Mantis that's in Illusion of Gaia is damn tough, mostly 'cause you're Will and you can barely hurt him anyway. That, and you can't crabwalk like you can in Soul Blazer. And they're all story fights, but god damn, some of the bosses in Earthbound are, if you're not properly leveled, damn near impossible. I particularly remember the Trillionage Sprout, SHROOOOOOOOOM!, and Diamond Dog being excessively tough. That and Ness's Nightmare, simply 'cause you're the kid alone. Sure, you might have a flying man with you, but come on, he goes down in like 2 hits. Oh, and I never did beat Ozma in FFIX... |

Sigmund snapped out of his offline trance (thanking the gods the entire time that something had allowed him to do that trick earlier), and stepped onto the duct, disappearing after a few seconds of focused thought. Immediately upon appearing at the port, Sigmund spotted the boatgoers, and pulled out his cardboard box, sidling along on the dock with it. As long as he was wearing it, he thought, he'd be a lot less conspicuous, especially considering the high concentration of boxes that were already around. The fact that it was a box of oranges at a seaport helped matters quite a bit. He crept along the docks and eventually found his way to Arminas, after performing a few feats of agility that were quite unbecoming of an old man underneath a cardboard box. The story got more and more complex... |

And if you give a lot, that affects how much you want to leave the relationship. If you've invested a lot of time and resources into keeping a relationship steady, you're much less apt to get out of it. That's common sense, of course, but it can be applied here. Weigh your options: Proximity, intimacy, and familiarity are very important factors in a relationship. If you can't give any of that to a person, then don't go for it. That's your basic BS response, of course... Awkwardness. I'm really hung up on that, of course... I don't see why it would be awkward for you to ask her out, if you're really close enough friends, then being rejected or breaking up with a person won't ruin your relationship with them as it stands right now. From what I've seen, though, there IS no real way to figure it out. I mean, there are the obvious things: Her flirting or making moves on you, and such, but if there's no input from her side, you can't really expect to be able to know or not know whether or not she's interested. The best course of action really is to just shit or get off the pot. Go for it or don't. Of course, a little preparation works just fine, too... See how close you can come. Maybe it'll happen naturally. You're smart enough to know that already... Koneko: I think you're pretty cool, from what little I know about you. You've got writing talent, and Schwa seems(ed?) to like you a lot. But, like I said, I don't really know that much about you, you're kind of enigmatic. Sigmund: "Ya dang fool! The transmission's gone and burnt itself out!" He whacked Arminas in the head, and pulled the top off of the boat's motorhead... "Lessee what else's wrong with this thing..." With the motor still running, Sigmund was treated to a faceful of black smoke, and he drew back almost immediately, coughing his lungs out. "Aaack!" He collapsed onto the deck of the boat, and found himself temporarily useless, until he caught his breath. Being old had its disadvantages...
