| Guilty Gear: Dust Strikers is all set to suck ass. No announced long-range wi-fi, no classic Guilty Gear fighting engine (it seems to control like Super Smash Brothers), and those platforms seem like they're gonna impede play a lot. Kirbynite and I have discussed this to great length.
As a Guilty Gear fan to the end, I ask someone, anyone around me to find something redeeming about this game. I want to have a reason to buy it, darnit! |

| Sigmund: "Rexious..."
There was an explosive burst of rock and dirt alongside Ark as a small, man-shaped meteor collided with the ground beside him and skidded into the mountain path. The explosion kicked rubble left and right, and sent trees in its path bending off to the side... "....Strike!!!" Emergent from the dust was an old man, running with both arms flailing behind him and easily keeping pace with Ark's downhill dash. The amount of dirt caked around his sandals suggested that the delivery of the meteoresque kick was directly from the feeble old man himself, but this would, of course, be entirely contrary to his earlier provisions of strength... He prepared to do another devastating attack, when he noticed that Lily was not only on Ark's back, but actually willingly clinging to it. Between huffing breaths (he was still old, after all...), he tried to speak to Ark. "...Eh? What... Kinda... Kidnappin'... Is this?" |

He stopped short for a few seconds, and then suddenly leapt several tens of feet in the air, landing gracefully next to Ark, still running alongside him. "But I CAN do that! And trust me, yer wall ain't much in the face of people like me, an' yer runnin' ain't much in the face of feet like mine. I ain't what I seems to ya. An' if'n yeh can steal this Everlight thing, maybe yeh can help me steal somethin', too..." He somehow slapped Ark upside the head as he continued the run... "An' I can't be 'avin' yeh teach the girl all the wrong stuff! She could be a master someday, an' I ain't fixin' to 'ave 'er get no shoddy teachins!" |

| Sigmund's mad dash down the mountain suddenly stopped short, as he ignored Lily's comment for the moment and focused his eyes on the red-garbed soldiers ahead of him.
Sigmund: "No... No, it can't be them again, can it...?" His mind flashed back to images of snapped necks and battered and bruised soldiers. If they were up ahead... He doubled his pace and began to surpass Ark and Lily. "There ain't no time to lose! That's the Red Ribbon Division of the Army of Cruninidad! Sigmund toddled over to the armored warrior, and placed a wrinkled hand on his shoulder. "Ah... I'm sorry, I jus'... I froze up, back there when they threw tha kid off the cliff... I may be old, but I ain't so good wit' seein' people I know die." He cast his eyes downward, and his face fell. "'An I know it's hippacriticul of me ta say that, what wit' all tha people I've taken out in me years..." He approached Lily, trying to help her clean herself up. "Yeh're all messed up... This ain't no time fer an old coot like me ta be jokin' 'round. We'd best git back ta town. Lily's got herself a good point. S'likely that we're gonna need more information 'bout that army 'afore we can take 'em on." He started walking along the mountain path. From here it was through the fields to the southwest and a few hours' walk to Southern Light. He beckoned for Ark and Lily to follow. He may be old, he thought, but he knew the way. "'An unfortunately fer you two and me, I know just the two people to ask..." 'Those doofuses'll know jus' what we wanna know, if'n me thoughts're right. Sigmund: "Ya follow me! C'mon, ah'll get us in the inn fer free anyways... I know the 'keeper, helped him get rid of a rat problem in 'is basement once..." He turned back towards the path to Southern Light, and prepared himself for a montage of walking. |

| It's called N-Game, which stands for, of course, Ninja Game. The premise?
You are a ninja. You have superhuman speed and agility due to a lightning-fast metabolism. Unfortunately, this metabolism is also what contributes to your 1.5 minute lifespan. Each level contains gold in it, which gives you more time to live (because everyone knows ninjas eat gold for life), but each level also contains a ton of obstacles that exist solely for the purpose of killing your black-clothed avatar. I'm only on episode 3... Each episode contains five levels, and there are 99 episodes in all, plus a "level 0" for starters. It's a flash game, and it's suprisingly small, but there's a heck of a lot of depth to it. And if you feel like it, you can download more levels from the website. Godspeed, little ninja. |

Well, the game is made easier if you have the JoyToKey program and a ps2 controller converter... Kirbynite was nice enough to tip me off on that. Now I'm running through the levels like mad.

Be sure to download it, though... The online version only has 30 levels.

Sigmund led her to the Inn, and after a short period of haggling and truncheoning with his friend, the Innkeeper, he had managed to get three rooms reserved, and a bath for Lily. They were promised breakfast: Sigmund couldn't guarantee much more. 'What a price...' he thought. He wouldn't let Lily know that he had still had to pay a good 50 shines for the three of them, it was a lot better than the usual rate and this Inn was one of the best in town. And if he wanted to... At the front desk of the inn, he had glanced over at her. If he were young again... But nah... He knew that now wasn't the time. And aside from that, to her he was just an old man. Sigmund wagered that for a long time, at least until they ran into that damn bandit again, that's all he'd be. "You... Go up and take yer bath. I'm gettin' me some rest." He waited by the door next to Lily. He hadn't seen the warrior come in. Sigmund knew he was going back into the forest, and it unnerved him to think of where he might have ended up. Not only that, but now Sigmund had wasted his money...

He placed a hand on Lily's shoulder as her hands glowed. "Keep that up, I'm goin' ta get 'im some new duds." Sigmund sighed. He had told him not to... He had given him an opportunity not to. There were plenty of spearcrafters in Southern Light. Now Sigmund had to go all the way to the tailor's, haggle another deal out of 'im, get Ark some new clothes... Sigmund griped and complained on the outside, but on the inside he was slightly concerned. Could Lily's healing power really take care of that much damage? Maybe he wouldn't need Rufus after all.

Deciding to bypass the haggling, Sigmund strode up to Lily, carrying a stack of clothes for Ark. Well, a stack wasn't really the word to use... More like a collossal pile. He hadn't really taken note of Ark's sense of fashion, and just decided to go blanket. "Here, put these on. We've got a long day ahead of us. We're gonna visit those Bantam Blockheads and ask 'em what they know."
