| Evan: "Grr... It's... Watch out, Shen!"
As the draconic being descended upon the trio, Evan clenched his fists and a rush of Chaotic energy filled him. There was no way Shen would be able to keep herself safe in the hands of such a terrible beast. The skies darkened around the Dragon, and Evan leapt into the sky toward it. There was a moment entirely without light as Evan ascended, and suddenly a bright flash filled the air. From Evan's clenched fists blew a concentrated blast of pure Chaos, designed to rend the Dragon with searing impossibility. Evan was flung back to the ground by the recoil of his attack, and stood at the ready, prepared to take all efforts to ensure Shen, and the Shards', safety. "What do you mean, you can't see... It's right there in front of you!" --------------- Johnathan: "I refuse to waste my time with people like you." The ice had broken easily upon contact with Raza's fist, yes, but Johnathan had only taken it as an opportunity to further impair him. The shards of ice swirled around in the air as the cold winds blew, this time renewing their intensity and encasing Raza's feet. Johnathan cast a sidelong glance to Elysia. | I can't believe nobody's even mentioned Get Backers yet...
It's the best anime ever made ever. Well, that one's up for debate (Mainly 'cause I'm a big FLCL/Trigun fan), but it's definitely an extremely high-quality anime. Great art style, loveable characters, a well-written, long running story with plenty of episodic adventures to break up the tale, and some really neat takes on japanese pop culture and culture in general (a lot of the plot revolves around art and society). The manga's a good read, too. |

Grey: "Sorry, Doc..."

The marbles all exploded in the air as they flew ever-so-suddenly in random directions! Grey's disembodied voice seemed to come from no direction at all... "...But the rules of the Marble Game dictate that anyone playing the Marble Game cannot tamper with other players' marbles. I'd call convincing the marbles to try to attack me tampering, which is against the rules. And since it's against the rules, you've got to pay the penalty..." The smoke from the explosions cleared, as Grey descended upon Kirbynite from the air, having used the dusty kickup as cover for a surprise attack from above! "...Like this! Strangelove!!!" Grey waved a brown cowboy hat in his hands as he dropped down from the sky on top of a broken-down old wheelchair, yelping and whooping the whole way. Using his telekinetic abilities, Grey hurled the wheelchair at Kirbynite, and followed by chucking his hat, Oddjob-style, in harmony with his initial strike. His aim? To slam Kirbynite with the chair, and have the hat land on his head. If that happened, the sheer degree of psychic energy in the hat might just mess with Kirbynite's innate Dark Anti-psychic systems to enough of a degree that one of his limbs would actually turn into a Nazi limb, randomly sticking itself in the air in salute to a fallen tyrant and occasionally striking out against its owner! .....Or Grey could just have been watching too many black-and-white sci-fi films the night before. Either way, being hit with a wheelchair is bound to hurt at a consistent acceleration of -9.8 metres per second squared plus the acceleration force of Grey's telekinetic throw. Evan: "Agent Red..."

At that point, a loud scream erupted in Evan's head. He clenched his hands to his skull as the world darkened around him for a splitsecond. The voice was terrifying, as though nobody else could imagine such a fearsome sound... voice: "You're not supposed to know!" Evan was brought nearly to tears as the voice shouted, but as soon as the pain in his head subsided, the world returned to normal and he realized the entire thing had happened in an instant. In the meantime, Shen was getting away with Origin! Evan: "Wait, Shen! What's this emptiness?" There was no time to lose! Evan ran off after Shen and tried to question her as they traveled. --------------- Johnathan scrambled to his feet and threw up a wall of ice as he bolted to the side and out of the way of Raza's attack. He wasn't nearly fast enough to keep this up... Raza crashed straight through the wall of ice that time as though it were nothing, and Johnathan was at a loss for how to retaliate. Johnathan: "You still have yet to answer my question!" Johnathan's movements were beginning to get more and more frantic. The wind that swirled around him began to take a more condensed, snowy form. Soon, the weather of the desert would be changed beyond simple localized switches here and there... It would be tough for Johnathan to keep control over the environment and his own personal safety while trying to concentrate on this mysterious person's safety.

Grey: "Too much!"

There was no way Grey'd be able to avoid a shot like that, so he did the only thing he could do. If Kirbynite was going to foxhole himself like that, then Grey'd be glad to oblige him. As the Star Shot blew upwards, Grey pulled out another small pouch, a backup stash of marbles, and threw it directly downward and through the blast. As even Grey wouldn't be able to make it through a shot like that, it was a wonder for him to think the marble pouch would. And then, right before the two collided, the marble pouch darted off to the side, and as soon as it cleared the blast radius, was shot via telekinesis directly into Kirbynite's foxhole. Grey pumped his fist in light of a small victory as he fell, knowing full well just how much hurt was coming his way. As the blast enveloped Grey, who threw up a haphazard Psychic Power Shield as a last-ditch defense, the pouch full of marbles exploded like a gallon of C4 upon landing at the bottom of Kirbynite's ditch. Seconds later, a body dropped from high up in the air to the ground, covered in burns and scorch marks. Though it had absorbed some of the blast and even tried the default attempt at reflecting the shot away, it was clear from Grey's prostrate position that his shield had not held.

I'd be the uncle that nobody knows the exact age of that shows up, gives the little kids in the family a dollar after doing some sleight-of-hand tricks, and goes home without people noticing. |

Hrm, it looks like Mario Mode is kind of like an action-puzzle game? Maybe, and this is just speculation, the game features a separate algorithm for levels where a set block type will come down, and your movements of that block correspond with Mario's actions? The simple A/B style of the block turning and the old school Mario games would depict a similar possible action. Imagine pulling an X1/X2 and playing both games at the same time... |
