"You do not even know my name, and I am trying to kill you, here... These people are mocking me, and here I am, the only fighter around that seems to understand just what the battle is for." The skies darken as Johnathan's face does the same. A true oddity in the desert, clouds begin forming in the sky. Dark clouds. Storm clouds, of an intimidating nature, masses of vapor that serve no purpose other than to cry their tears upon the land and bring the tease and dreams of a lively possibility to the Barren wasteland. "I will do my best. You, sadly, do not seem to enjoy the same freedom..." He encases his hands in ice, and darts toward Diaxos, sharpening his fists to points and proceeding to stab forward at Diaxos with ever-increasing viciousness! |

"The skies have darkened, my friend. Look up." Amazingly enough, snow began to fall, gently and softly, as soon as the man uttered his request. The bright midday sun was no longer shining on The Barrens and herds of gazelles and velociraptors fled to their shelters along with prowlers and plainstriders as the snow, previously a substance completely unknown to them, wafted toward the ground. Johnathan placed a pair of black sunglasses on his face... "Look up and welcome the maelstrom!" |

Garro: "Hm?" Kalar: "A scythe that can cut the very wind itself? Present from Death, hundred-thousandth birthday... The whole story?" Garro: "Oh, the Scythe of the Reaper? You think Janus gave you the real one? That's a copy. I'd think a weapon master especially would be able to tell." Kalar: "Not a perfect copy, no?" Garro: "Nope, sorry." Kalar: "Ah, curses. Well, can't say I blame him. Come on, let's see if we can size things up!" As the bright red glow of cognition faded from Kalar's eyes, he dashed forward and went on a bloody (oily?) rampage through the crowd of weakened reploids. He switched his weapons around, as the reaper's Scythe disappeared into RPG-character inventory status, and Kalar's Multiweapon was brought into play. The new Scythe changed quickly into a long Pike, and Kalar proceeded to leap into the middle of a bunch of clustered Reploids. Instantly his body exploded into a rain of shadowy darkness, enshrouding the crowd with inky black. Kalar moved swiftly in the darkness, slashing out at Reploids left and right, hoping to damage, but not kill. He'd leave that for Garro, he thought as he jumped out of the dark dome and moved on to the next group. Garro, of course, knew that Kalar's shadows were like oil to his holy fire... Always ready to go off. He drew out his other pistol, and fired a single holy blast into the shadows, illuminating them and causing an elemental cancel, resulting in a massive explosion around the area. | As Janus' destroyed corpse reformed itself into a useable body, Kalar limped forward, his steel leg spasming every so often. His arm, luckily, seemed to have suffered minimal damage, but he was taking a definite mobility loss until he could put a spare on that foot.
He reached into his inventory, and pulled out a limp cybernetic part, defying the laws of spatial physics for a few seconds as he replaced the bad leg with the good one. He stuffed the bad leg back into his inventory and for another instant, space-time blinked in bewilderment. Of course, the fact that this just happened might mean something reasonably significant to a being so infused with the inner workings of space and time as Star... In any case, Kalar was almost ready to go again. |

A gloved fist glowed bright white and launched itself brutally at the chest-plate of the oncoming Reploid... "...In the point-blank, purely elemental case. That was what He was trying to teach you, wasn't it?" Garro's sucker punch was quickly followed by a finisher; a knockdown kick that would presumably end in Garro pressing a pistol up against the Reploid's head and proceeding to pull the trigger. Kalar: "Grand Viper!!!" In a blatantly ripped-off maneuver, Kalar dragged his scythe towards and through the ground, deflecting the foes rushing at Schwa with the sheer breadth of the earth kicked up in his assault. How he moved so fast and why he's helping Schwa is anyone's guess, but he's a very clear and present danger to the Reploids, no matter how much heat they're packing. Well, your initial problem here is that you're watching FOX news. Your other problem is that you don't seem to realize that the old men who are destroying politics with the thought of a correct language have a double-standard: The majority of them are conservative Christian males, who normally would be all "Celebrate Jesus' birthday, yay, yay, yay!!!", but also have huge handlings in the businesses and industries of our nation, so they're also gonna be all like "Celebrate Steroidal Profits, yay, yay, yay!!!". If you use that knowledge as a shield from the holiday BS, you'll find that you're a much happier camper. Until then, Happy Holidays!

Better yet, just do what I do and give 'til it hurts. Much easier to appreciate an overall holiday spirit that way, even if you're not Christian or Jewish.

As the signature godlike-power gesture completed, a large, mechanical hand popped out of the window of the floor that Kawa had just passed by, grabbing him and pulling him back inside. "And Kawa, the building has an idiot-proof anti-falling system. It's to make sure nobody hits the moat of gray paint at the bottom. Nothing goes down, but at the same time, they're rigged so that nothing goes up either. I suppose if you really wanted to, you could figure some way out of the hands or disable them, but it'd be much easier to just take the stairs. Look!" He points to a huge sign that says "STAIRS THIS WAY! INDESTRUCTIBLE, UNSTOPPABLE! TAKE THEM AS THEY COME!". It has a small arrow below the invasively large text, and a staircase is seen further off in the distance, with flowers and candy and happy music playing all around. And chocolate cake. Grey snapped his fingers, and mechanical, badly-disguised NPC bots appeared that looked kinda like Yoronosuku when you tilted your head to the side. He couldn't quite tell, it had been some time since he had seen her. But that wasn't important, the important part was that they were THERE! "Stairs!"

A great chill came across the land, as the simple arena was filled with the ghostly cheering of dozens of battles of the past. The roof of the grand thunderdome opened to show a shining sun, which gave light to the not-so-simple anymore arena, glittering gold turrets and silver stadium seating abound. From the clouds, as the Pokemon Gym Theme blasted loudly from the high-definition sound system (complete with bass boost), descended a young man, slacken, strong, powerful, with great golden armor adorning him and brilliant baubles lining his steely shrouds.

He slowly, cinematically floated down to the ground, as the ghostly cheering grew louder and louder, and the spirits of the dead warriors of the past inhabited the arena, the bounds of death no longer surrounding them. The moment his feet touched the ground, everything returned to normal, the golden armor disappeared, the ghosts disappeared, the sunroof disappeared, the sound system disappeared (  ), and in its place was a shortish guy in a red Toys 'R' Us shirt. His nametag said "Thomas: Delighting guests since 2005", but the secondary nametag below said "Grey". Also, something he couldn't quite read in spanish, but something he also knew was on the backside of the tag in english. He didn't really worry too hard about it.

These words flashed across Johnathan's sunglasses as the snowfall quickly turned into a miniature snowstorm. He stomped his foot, and from the ground around him grew large shards of ice which collided with the fireballs and melted down to water. The snowstorm further dampened the effects of the heat and amplified Johnathan's freezing aggression. The temperature kept dropping. Johnathan: "Fool." While Diaxos' back was turned, Johnathan jumped into the air towards him, bringing his fist down into the ground and scattering shards of ice and a wave of cold out from his strike! "Frost Nova!!!"

He took a good, long look at the shadows and noticed that they were most definitely very dark. Unnaturally so. Still... "Aw, man, this is just making me more sure I'm gonna win. Look at you, this is a totally generic fear attack. Hell, I could just use Will of the Forsaken or some bullshit attack like that and say LOLIRESISTURFEAR, but I don't even need to, since I'm not exactly afraid. Hrm, Loli Resist... I gotta tell knuck about that one." And then he lost it. "Oh, but what if I lose? That'd---" BAM! He was instantly knocked flat by the sheer weight of the emotional baggage and reduced to a crying pile of hate and embittered immaturity, curled up in a little sissy-man ball on the floor. Grey: "Aw, man, you killed Thomas!" A clone of Tom appeared behind Shadow Sam, or... around, or something... And grimaced. "Man, that's such a bitch move, attacking his weak point directly like that. Look, what you really gotta do here is..." It didn't quite seem like it, but from Somewhere Shadow Sam would probably, if he listened juuuuuuust right, hear someone calling, in the traditional epic style, Guiding Light!!! throughout the arena. "...Toy with him. If you do that, then certainly you'll drive him even more insane, and then he'll end up suffering just that much. It's tricky, but it's most definitely possible. Believe me, I know." Instantly, the shadows disappeared and stopped enveloping Thomas, as Grey winked and flashed back into Tom's mind. The prostrate body of Thomas got back up and stared the shadow down as best as he could. Thomas: "There's a little more to me than just doubt and misery, as I'm sure you can see there, Sam.
