| OOC: Ok, everyone, welcome back! The two links that have been provided for you are not threads that can be posted in, they are simply for archival purposes. The Auditorium and Cafeteria has been revamped and consolidated into this thread, so if you have an idea for a little sidestory, feel free to let it loose in here! Heck, don't just keep it to the cafeteria, feel free to explore anywhere in the Arena that you want!
It's quiet outside the Acmlm's Board building... It looks like there's about to be some serious magic going on. Serious magic, that is, in the form of a young man of average height and weight, dressed in a cloth vest and long, heavily-pocketed pants. He pulled a pair of black weightlifting gloves over his hands and cracked his knuckles as he slapped his hands together. The board had undergone some serious renovation over the past few days... It had been demolished and rebuilt based on an old schematic that proved to be more structurally sound than the current model. The only problem was that the Sim Battle Arena Annex and the Story Forum Complex had NOT been included in the schematic, which meant the young man had to do some fanangling of his own in order to bring the vaunted arena back into style. This was gonna take some real concentration... The sheer degree of matter required to build such a massive structure would no doubt leave a gigantic underdwelling of catacombs that would be sucked dry by the construction and conversion of matter beneath the Arena. This meant that there'd be a doubtless string of breakthroughs for the first few months until the construction crews could get in enough sand to fill in the caverns... ...Then again, when was the satisfaction of slamming someone through a floor or roof a bad thing? The young man grinned at the thought. The circle was ready. Intricate patterns of pentagrams, hexagrams, septagrams, and octagrams lined its concentric pattens. Incantations written in languages nobody could understand stood hundreds of feet long and even more feet wide, gigantic letters for gigantic business. He sank to his knees, and laid his hands on the ground. A swirl of electricity pumped around him as the skies darkened, and the electricity ran throughout the pattern of circles, which began to glow a deep, bright blue color. A drop of sweat beaded around the man's forehead and sank downward... This would be very, very difficult, but very, very worth it if he could do it. The bolts of lightning grew larger and larger, and soon dark clouds formed in the sky above him. Thunderclaps rang out as big, heavy drops of rain began to fall. Suddenly, it happened! A truly gigantic structure burst out of the ground next to the tall, monumental Board Building, with turrets, domes, cages, all manner of rooms, structures and containers filled with dozens upon dozens of weapons, food, supplies, devices, special effects machines, camera equipment, potions, tables, chairs, and nearly any other inanimate object that the man could think of! Truly powerful magic was at work... ...And then, as soon as it began, it all stopped. The clouds cleared, the sky became blue again, and the sun shined down upon a brilliant supercomplex of stage, story, struggle, and destruction. The Sim Battle Arena and Story Forum were revived. The boy smiled as he strode up to the front door, opened it to reveal a large foyer leading to a cafeteria, office complex, and collection of outer arenas, and walked in particular to one office door, which had a gold-plated nameplate with the word "Grey" engraved into it. He opened the door, sat down behind the desk inside, and snapped his fingers. "Well," the man said with confidence, "we're back in business. Welcome back, everyone!" The doors opened wide to the public, the cafeteria suddenly generated the smell of food and hard work, and the speakers in the sound systems of the arenas began blaring heart-pumping battle music. The locker rooms unlocked, and the profile archive room was completely revealed to the public... | Grey giggled at Ailure's attack, and flipped a switch at his desk, turning on the "God Modder Protection" setting.
"Well, Ailure..." he said, dusting his hands off, "Thank you for providing me with that example. It's absolutely perfect, I'll tell you." "Ladies and gents, there ARE indeed a few rules to this arena. I think you'll find if you watch this informational video, you'll be pleasantly surprised..." He picked up a small remote, and pointed it at the wall of his office. A panel slid open and a small television screen, one of Grey's many CCT systems that were posted around the arena, was visible. A video began playing that detailed the many rules and regulations that had been posted in the arena. GUESS WHAT. THE PREVIOUS LINK WAS TO THE SIM BATTLE RULES. CLICK IT. "Now," he said, "I think you'll all realize that if you watch this video and follow the rules and regulations that have been established, we'll be able to get some really good writing shown here. | A lone figure, blinding all who viewed him by the sunlight, stood high at the top of the Acmlm's Board building, having just finished his work for the week. He took a flying leap down into the Backyard, and revealed himself to be none other than Grey, the master of ceremonies at the recent reopening of the Sim Battle Arena.
"Kirbynite! I'm impressed," he said with a touch of overconfidence in his voice, "You've managed to outdo yourself here. Will we be able to keep the craziness chaps out of here this time?" He folded his arms and waited for the Dreamlander to give his first official address as a reconstructed Full Moderator... "And by the way," he said rather irritably... Grey cracked his knuckles. This was it. Janus hadn't returned from his absence, Garro was wounded, and Kalar was too high-risk to bring into the mix a second time... It looked like he would have to step onto the field now. Kalar: "You sure about this?" Kalar and Grey stood in the wings of Sim Battle Arena A, newly reconstructed and filled with cheering NPCs... Grey was shaking with nervousness. He had never been in an actual fight before, but he knew what he was doing. He hoped. Grey: "Yeah. Yeah, I am. Janus isn't back, and I don't want to send you and Garro into battle. ESPECIALLY not against Kirbynite. I don't want any of you getting hurt, and I think I have a personal duty to engage him myself." Kalar: "Look, man, I can keep control, just send me out..." Grey's eyes sharpened. He cast a penetrating stare at Kalar, and the tattered warrior shut up instantly. Grey: "No! I want to do this myself. You'll see..." Kalar: "What about that thing, that you do... The wall breaching thing..." Grey had already started towards the arena. He checked his equipment. Weightlifting gloves, pouch, vest... Everything he needed was on him, plus a few new toys he had spent developing in his lab. This promised to be an interesting battle. Upon mention of his creepy talents, Grey whirled around and turned serious. Grey: "We're not gonna talk about that. You just sit back and enjoy the show, I'll be back." He strode out onto the smooth marble floor, which transformed almost instantly into a simple, straightforward plains, flat and grassy. No impediments whatsoever. The Pokemon Red Version theme song blasted through the arena speakers as he walked forward and prepared to meet his foe at the center of the arena.
