Clara: Ah.. What difference does it make?

The dragon, with its wings furled, was crawling through the corridors. It slowed down more and more as it felt the path becoming tighter on its body. Farid: Right right.. Need ta worry 'bout the fire. 'M sure a lil' more will do. Farid pulled out a few more seeds, and tossed it into the mine cart. Hikari fell into the next cart due to the sudden shift into highspeed. Hikari: Hey! You done near killed me! Farid: Atleast we don't have teh worry about flames catchin' up! Hikari: But we've gotta worry about derailin' and anythin' in the way! |

| Lily: Not yet.. Too much attention is on them.. I think the Yoshenyoshi will leave soon, so let's wait afterwards..
The Yoshenyoshi started handing out halves of spotted eggshells. They only had one set, and with Arminas and Allison being the closest ones to the two, Quoshi and Pioshi handed the siblings. The shells shimmered beautifully. Pioshi: These shells are a token of our gratitude for defeating the Long Long Demon. Why, if we did not meet with all of you, we might not have made it. Allison: They're beautiful.. Pioshi: These shells have a special significance when held by those close to each other. Quoshi: They're used as a symbol of engagement among the Yoshenyoshi. Allison's face grew bright red. Quoshi: As long as two people carry those shells, they will always know what each other is feeling. Arminas: You sure you wanna be giving this to us? Pioshi: They're but a small token of our appreciation! Lily came running up to the Yoshenyoshi. Lily: I want one! I want one too! Pioshi: I'm sorry, we only had one set. Lily: Awww... |

| There was a loud cracking sound, like the sound of someone not ducking in time. Hikari slightly pokes her head out and looks around.
Hikari: Is everyone here accounted for? Hikari noticed everyone was still in the cart. She then shrugged off what could've been the source of the sound. Meanwhile, the dragon was dealing with a concussion. |

Arminas's eyes move around a bit. Arminas: Where does this path over here lead? Pioshi: If you follow it for a while, you'll eventually get back close to your city. Lucas: Let's rest a bit, and then we can set out. Arminas: You still plan to follow us? We were only supposed to be together until-- Lucas: Given the current circumstances, can you honestly consider Allison resduced? You don't even know where we are. Arminas growled and looked off to the side. Clara: That flying man might come back, you know. We can't relax until we make it back to the city. Lucas: I'm also concerned about the soldiers in red who attacked the bandits' lair. I hope that didn't have anything to do with Allison. Lily's own eyes were wandering. She couldn't find where Sigmund was, but she took notice of Sky and Cassandra. "Not yet", she thought. |

Pioshi: You can perhaps retreat into our village? Lucas: No, that might not be the best of ideas. We do not want to bring something like this into your village. Quoshi: Thank you everyone for all your help. Lucas: No, no. We should be thanking you for getting us back to the surface. Pioshi: We hope to see you again soon. We'd love it if you'd come to the Yoshenyoshi village sometime! Quoshi: Farewell, friends! The two yoshis started walking into the tunnel. Lily: Bye-bye! Next time we meet, bring me a present, too! Yoshi! Lucas: Now for the matter at hand.. Clara: ... The weather's getting bad... Lucas: We might be able to use this to our advantage.. But why is that army after us? Lily: Well, maybe if you guys would've left some notes about what happened in the bandits' lair in the journal, us new guys could've thought of something. Speaking of journal, I think it's Ally's turn to write something...... Ally? Where did she go? And where's Army for that matter? Lucas looked around, and couldn't any evidence of Arminas and Allison even being there. Lucas: ... I can't believe he did that. |

| Lily: Icicle Lance!
Lily waved her hands as she ran behind Sky. She thrusted a glowing hand into the air, and pointed at one of the soldiers. The air above the soldiers started to get a bit cold. Wind started to sweep around as all of the cold air became condensed into a thin, sharpened pillar of ice. The icey spear then flew down onto one of the soldiers, giving him a good skewering, if such a thing existed. Meanwhile, Lucas was infuriated. He had suddenly realized who the army was, and why there were on the island. This mixed in with the events he's currently witness just added more anger onto him. Lucas: Damnit. We still had a chance to escape until now. |

Lily turned her head to look at the crystal wall. Lily: Man! That was so awesome! She gave Ark a big hug in her girlish delight. Lily: I guess that means you really are an ome user! She points a finger in the direction Ark was already running in. Lily: Onward! We can't let the Everlight get away! ------------------- Clara: A diamond ome user?! Lucas growled as he held out two glowing hands. Lucas: It's too late to worry about that now. We're trapped here with those soldiers. Clara ran infront of Cassandra and Lucas, while brandishing her sword. The remaining soldiers were marching towards them, wanting retribution for the fallen soldiers. Clara: While I do not like the situation we have been left with, I do not intend to die here. |

| Lily: Ah.. I wouldn't worry about them. I wasn't planning on hanging around this island after finding the Everlight, anyway. Just a wish or two, and I'll be back on the mainland, like nothing ever happened.
She giggled. Lily: Ah, don't worry about any monsters. You saw how I took care of that crystal wall back at the forest! Piece of cake. Worst comes to worst, I'll just landslide them right off. ---------------------- Allison: Arminas... Was it okay for us to do that? Arminas: We need to keep moving. Allison: But we could've atleast thanked them.. Arminas: If we stuck around to do that, it'd be that much harder for us to leave. Look, a group of people are easier to find. With just the two of us, we can move more easily. -------------------- Lucas looked behind him. The crystal wall was a definite annoyance. No way to just walk around it, thanks to the cliff. Was it really ome resistant? Probably not to an iron ome user, which he wasn't. Clara was currently taking on the soldiers by sending shockwaves at them. The soldiers were easily evading the shockwaves, but whenever one would get within range, Clara would twist around their attacks and knock them away with a quick shoulder ram and sword swinging motion, quite similar to swinging a baseball bat. |

| Lily freaked out when she heard the rush of rock falling nearby. When she turned her head to see the source, she was less than amused.
Lily spoke in a partially deep, annoyed voice. Lily: 'Hoy. Go away, Gramps. Lily suddenly realized that the old man was actually keeping up with Ark. Lily: Hey! What's this about you being too old to be moving ahead?! You seem as spry as Drenchy! |

| Lily was amazed to see the old man even bounding like he did. However, her response wasn't really showing any amazement.
Lily: Hey hey hey! Don't slap people around for no reason! We don't need anyone distracting us now! --------------------------- The clouds in the sky became more and more ominous as thunder echoed throughout the mountain range. Arminas: It's them! A large fleet of soldiers seemed to have appeared out of nowhere around the corner of the mountain path. Infront of the soldiers were the three commanders. One of them was the woman with the horned helm, Danielle. Besides her was a man clad in black armor, with brown, spiked hair hanging off the black mask he was wearing. The third commander was garbed a bit more comfortable clothing, but seemed to have a bit of an assassin's touch, with the scarf and the cloth covering the lower half of her darkskinned face. Danielle: It's about time. You had us waiting for quite a while. I take it that's the Linnara with you. Allison: Soldiers in red?! Arminas, these people, they're-- Arminas: The same ones who attacked the village three years ago. |

| Arminas heard some footsteps from behind. He turned around, and saw more soldiers pouring in.
Arminas: They're behind us, too! Arminas pulled Allison over to the mountain wall, and stood infront of the girl. Danielle slowly walked towards Arminas. Danielle: You slipped away from us at the bandits' lair. But you WON'T get away this time. Kyaaa ha ha ha haaaa! Allison: No.... Arminas: Dammit! |

| Lily clinged a little harder onto Ark. The speed that they were moving in was almost too much for her to handle.
Lily: If we gotta be, like, stealthy, then why are you two running this fast? 
----------------------- Lucas took the opportunity to strike down a soldier with a bolt of lightning while they were distracted by Sky's performance. Lucas immediately stopped with the lightning attacks as soon as rain started to pour. Lucas: So much for that. Clara: Ugh.. I hate the rain. ----------------------- The woman in the assassin's clothes stepped forward. The first thing Arminas noticed was the pointed ears she had. Phaere: It seems you know what happened three years ago. Perhaps you're even the one who led her away. Arminas: And if I was? Danielle: So it was you... I'm impressed you managed to evade us all this time. Phaere: You have good instincts. I'll give you that much. The other day, too, right when we finally had you, you suddenly disappeared. Allison: Arminas... Is that why you took me out to sea with you? Arminas: Yeah.. I know how seawater's like poison to you.. but.. I didn't have any other choice. Danielle: And now it seems your luck has run out. To think you'd wind up on Neo Grape Gardens, of all places! The man in the black armor cleared his throat loudly. Stingle: Save your gloating until the mission is complete. Danielle: Hmph. Phaere simply shrugged. Danielle: Alright then, boy. Your move. Will you hander her over qui-- Arminas: Go to hell. All at once, the three commanders took their own fighting positions. Stingle held up his sword, Phaere pulled out two unusual blades that curved around her arms from her hands, while Danielle stretched her whip between her hands. Phaere: So you want to fight. Well then, all the more fun for us. Arminas held up his own fists, both of which were glowing already. Allison: Arminas, no! Arminas let out a growl as he lunged at Danielle. Unfortunately, the young berserker was slashed across the chest by Phaere's blades. Arminas stumbled backwards, and was launched into the air by an eruption of fire set off by Danielle. Lily squinted her eyes, seeing nothing but a bunch of soldiers in red. She then saw Arminas and Allison. Lily: Whuh oh.. Um... I'm thinking that this situation's kinda.. over us, isn't it? --------------------- Allison rushes over to Arminas. She lost her footing on the wet ground and stumbled ontop of Arminas. Allison: Arminas! Get up! Danielle: That was fast. ???: What a waste of time. He's so pathetic it's comical. Danielle: ...! Hail Commander Gregorious All at once, the soldiers lined up, stood up straight, and held their right arms across their chest. A very large man, with well defined muscles bulging from his red and black armor stepped out infront of the army. Arminas stood up slightly. Arminas: ... Gregorious? In that instant, a bolt of lightning struck far above, highlighting the smug face on Gregorious' carved head. Gregorious: So.. you're a true Linnara. Arminas: Allison... run.. Allison: I.. I can't just leave you.. |

After the rest of the soldiers ran off, Clara walked over to the commanding officer, and held her sword infront of him. Clara: Why have you been sent to find us? The soldier was unable to speak as he was still in pain. Lucas: I don't know what Sky did to him, but it doesn't seem like he's going to speak up. I believe I may know the answer to this. Their target was Allison. Clara: What? Well, I guess that explains the situation. Lucas: If he does not intend to speak after we've taken him into custody, I suppose I can probably explain a little more. ------------------ Gregorious: You've given us an awful lot of trouble. But it ends here. Allison runs infront of Gregorious, holding out her arms in a Lemmings Blocking pose. Gregorious: What do you think you're doing? Allison: I'm the one you want, right? If that's the case, I'll go with you. Arminas: Allison! What're you saying?! Allison: Just please, leave my brother alone! Arminas managed to muster the strength to get up, unfortunately, his body didn't have enough feeling to let him stand up. Arminas: Allison.. Stop... It's no use talking to them. Gregorious let out a cackle that lasted about ten seconds Allison: Why.. are you laughing? Gregorious: You didn't think twice about sacrificing yourself to save another. You really are just like your sister. Another bolt of lightning struck nearby. Allison shrieked as she soon found herself being slapped into the ground by Gregorious calused hand. Arminas finally managed to get up to his feet. Arminas: Allison! Stop it, Gregorious! Phaere: Quit your whining. In the blink of an eye, Phaere ran up to Arminas and grabbed him by the neck. Phaere then lifted him up and chokeslammed him into the ground. Arminas: Ugh.. Allison: Arm..inas.. |

Clara: Well, what do we do now? Lucas: We should start heading down. Clara: But.. this path.. Didn't he.. Lucas: If there really is someone waiting down for us, it's best if we move down the mountain and use the trees as cover. If we stay up here, we're basically sitting ducks. Or we may run into an undiscovered duct and just warp to Southern Light. -------------- Gregorious: Here's your reward for trying to bargain with me, Linnara. Gregorious snapped his fingers. Allison: S-Stop! Phaere grabbed Arminas's head, and dragged him onto his feet. Arminas: Allison... Allison: No! Gregorious let out another cackle as Phaere tossed off the side of the mountain. Another flash of light went off, accompanied by thunder. Danielle: Well well.. Looks like that was a bit too much for her. Phaere: Aw, the poor thing's passed out. Gregorious: All that matters is that she's alive.... heh heh heh heh... Finally, the Linnara is mine! The first phase of the operation is complete. We will commence phase two at once. Gregorious: Ah! I wasn't expecting vermin to be appearing so soon. Lily saw Ark was in definite trouble. But he was putting up a distraction.. Lily: Ok.. I'll just give them all a little earthly shake.. then try to run in there.. Phaere: Or maybe not. Lily started quivering as soon as she realized she had a pair of blades being held infront of her. Phaere was standing behind her. Lily: Whoa! How did you get here so fast?! Phaere: Don't even bother, old man. One little move and she's done for. Danielle: Commander Gregorious, what shall we do with them? Gregorious didn't bother turning his head as he hoisted Allison's fainted body onto a wagon. Gregorious: Just toss them aside. I think we've had enough fun for today. |

| Lucas: Warping ducts.. They're supposedly found all over the island. Adventurers tend to use it to return to Southern Light, since all of the ducts, as long as they're open, will connect to the village. We haven't discovered the location of all of them, so we might, infact find one nearby. And let's hope Arminas and Allison found it.
----------------- Gregorious mounted the same wagon Allison was on. The driver of the wagon tugged on the horses' reigns, giving the horses the signal to start moving. Danielle: Kyaaa haa ha ha ha ha! Another one trying to bargain. Stingle watched the carriage move away. He then turned and looked at Danielle. Stingle: I think that's enough. Danielle: Aw, you're no fun. Danielle held onto the whip with both of her hands, which both started to glow. She pulled the whip, and actually spun Ark in the air once. The whip released Ark, allowing him to crash back over at the hill. Danielle: Oh, darn. I didn't get to toss him over the cliff. I guess I forgot I'm not all about muscle. She started walking with the rest of the soldiers. Danielle: Oh, I think I broke a nail.. Meanwhile, Phaere pushed Lily into the ground, which was already turning a bit muddy. Phaere didn't bother to turn her head to look at Sigmund to glance at him with her glowing eyes, but her pointy ears did twitch. Phaere: Be seeing you.. 'Old' Man. |

| Danielle: ... You may be wearing that over your face, but I can tell you're smirking about something.
Phaere's ears twitched a bit. Phaere: Just remembering something funny about vermin barking at prissy princesses. Danielle quirked a brow but said nothing else. Phaere stopped momentarily. She suddenly realized something. Danielle: What's wrong? Phaere's ears started to grow a color, which easily stood out with her skin being all dark and such. Phaere: N-nothing. ----------------- Lily tried to wipe the mud that got on her face. She eventually looked up to see Ark walking towards her while the army behind him was walking away. Lily: I.. um.. Are you ok? Lily stood up, staggering slightly. Her hands started to glow as she took a step towards Ark. Lily: I've got some healing power.. Atleast let me help a bit.. ----------------- Clara: Come to think of it.. I think I did see the duct by Southern Light. It's like.. a very short, round platform that stucks up from the ground... I'm no good with anything very mechanical, so I didn't bother trying it out. lHow would you know where a duct is? Lucas: Actually, I've been working on something that searches for ducts. Lucas pulls out a small, rectangular object, with an ome and a thin rod attached to it. Lucas: This is the first time I've actually tested it, but if my theory is correct, this specific type of ome, which is also powering the device, should resonate if we're in the remote area of a duct, whereas it would normally react if it was actually touching the duct.
