Arminas gave another look at the brooch, which shined in his hand. Lily caught the shine in the corner of her eye, and ran right up to Arminas.

Lily: Oooh, can I have a look?

Arminas: No.

Lily: Aw.. Pretty please?

Arminas: No.

Lily: Hmph.. Meany.

Meanwhile, Lucas handed some papers to Clara.

Lucas: It's going to be difficult for me to write when I'm trying to watch over her.

Clara: M-me? But..... Understood.

Lucas: Everyone, be careful. Lizardmen know how to fight with swords and shields, albeit not very well. But if they start swarming, it might cause a problem.

Lily: So bossy! Maybe I should've waited a bit before naming you...

Lucas: For the most part, just about any element is just as effective.

Several lizardmen notice the group walking by. They twitch their heads while letting out a few shrieks.

Arminas: Tch. More time being wasted.

Arminas held up his fists as the lizardmen approached. One of the creatures leapt into the air and attempted to drive its sword into Arminas. The berserker quickly stepped out of the way of the blade, and sent a fist into the lizardman's skull.

Arminas: Seriously.. wasting our time.

Lily: H-hey! o____o What happened to helping me?!

The lizardmen snarled at each other, and glancing at the lizardman that was decked out on the ground.

Lucas: You know, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. I wouldn't have to worry about looking after you.

Lily: W-wha?! o_____o

One of the lizardmen picked up the knocked out one, while another one eyed everyone in the group. It clenched its sword tightly before snorting loudly and turned around.

The lizardmen then started walking off.

Lucas: Fascinating.. It seemed like either they didn't like the offer.. Or perhaps it supports my theory on the evolution of the lizardman.. No.. the evolution of what we call monsters.

Lily: ... Hey! What's there not to like about me!?!

Arminas: Eh... Whatever works.

Arminas shook his head and started walking again.

Hikari: ... That guy couldn't be goin' too far, though. There's nothing much beyond the Stairway to Hell. Definitely not going north-east. No.. I reckon he was gonna stop at the mountain.. 'Least we don't have to worry 'bout him gettin' away.

Hikari let out a whistle, calling for her horse. As soon as it got to her, she got on, and continued her path to the mountain.

Clara brandished her sword.

Clara: I will not allow such a thing to happen while I am able to do something myself!

Lucas: Easy there, Clara. He is only teasing Lily.

Lily: Hey! You're so mean, Drenchy!

Clara: Oh... I see...

Clara felt a bit confused, but she sheathed her sword.

Lucas: Nothing is naturally evil.. But I still find it fascinating as to how aggressive most of the creatures on this island will become towards only humans.

Arminas: *groans*

Lucas: I'm not too sure about that. We humans have been living on this island for only fifteen years. Infact, reports about brushings with monsters have, if anything, decreased due to having ome users living in the area. There was a theory thrown around about the creatures on this island having a group conciousness, where we humans are seen as the foreign agents and must be purged off the island. However, that theory is a bit faulty, since a monster rarely approaches the village of Southern Light, and there are the beast tamers.

Arminas: Maybe it's just because every damned monster, from the birds to the rabbits to the mushroom freaks, are carniverous?! Damnit, can't you guys just keep walking?

Lucas: Yes, you may be onto something, there Arminas. Have you considered sending your hypothesis in to--

Arminas: Look! It's that flying man!

Arminas wasn't sure if he should be thrilled that the conversation was about to stop. The man that had kidnapped Allison was standing infront of a strangely colored part of the wall of the rock formation everyone was walking to. Besides the man was Allison, who was still unconcious and encased in a bubble of energy.

???: Begone, filth.

Clara had drawn her sword as well.

Clara: Yes, we will not allow you to continue your nefarious acts.

The kidnapper simply turned around. His right hand started to glow as he held it up.

Arminas: Bastard! Don't you dare ignore us!

The strangely colored portion of the rock wall glowed for a moment, and then slide to the side. The flying man stepped inside, bringing Allison with him.

Arminas: Oh no you don't..

Arminas immediately sprinted forward. He tried the best he can to run into the opening, but it was too late. The "door" had slid back in place.

Arminas: Damnit!

He tried punching and kicking the wall, but nothing happened.

Nothing was happening to the door, however.

Lily: Any ome! Honestly. People just like to muscle their way in.

There were several eyes that appeared on Lily.

Clara: You're a fine one to talk.

Lucas: I'm not going to easily forget that incident back at the Crystal Forest.

Lily: Hey! I'm trying to help you guys.

Arminas: Then stop talking already and just show us.

Lily: Hmph. Fine.

Lily stepped infront of the door, and held out a hand. Her fingernails were glowing.

Lily: .....

Arminas: Nothing's happening.

Lily: Of course not, if you guys just stand there staring! C'mon and help already.

Reluctantly, Arminas stepped infront of the door, and held out his hand. Clara did so too, as well as Lucas. As soon as all of their fingers were glowing, the door opened up.

Lucas: Fascinating. I've never realized you can do that with omes..

Lily: See? That's why ome users and treasure hunters were meant to be together!

Inside was a path that led underground. The path seemed to be an ancient tunnel, but it was in horrible condition, seeing as how there were broken pillars and pieces of the ceiling on the floor.

Lily: See? Mr. Bishie recognizes my prowess! Drenchy was moved by my charms and was compelled to aid me in my search for the Everlight.

Clara: She opens one door and her head is already inflated. Though... that was kind of.. amazing.

Lily: Of course it was! Well... I did have a cheat sheet to help.. It was left behind by my teacher, as worthless as he was.

The Story Forum is actually a role playing forum. Modern Art is where you want to go for showing off stories.

And, yeah, it's best if you just put in what you were talking about, because it's a bit redundant to just ask ;

I'll leave this in the Story Forum until you post or edit your message with the story (and then I'll move it to Modern Art). However, if you take too long, I'm just gonna have to trash this thread.

Hikari: *speaking quietly* I'm not about to wait for the whole process of boulder clearin' with explosives.

And with that thought, the redhead gave her horse a pat before she hopped off. She gave another look at the tall pile before her, and started climbing.

We entered the Crystal Forest in pursuit of the flying man who kidnapped Allison.

Lucas: Yes, I thought you were doing something brash again.

Arminas: I'm here, right? Get off my back.

Lucas: Hm.

Lily: Whoa oh. Everyone, take a look at this.

Lily slightly peered into the next area. There were even more damaged pillars laying around. Arminas looked himself, and saw something of importance inside.

Lucas: There he is!

Kidnapper: So.. you've managed to come this far.

Lily: You know, from this distance.. he doesn't look too bad.

"The tournaments end just a few months ago, and people already have forgotten the fighters like me and Grey?"

A pink, round creature floats into the area. It was wearing a red cap with a blue bill, and had tiny wings fluttering on its back.

"Sheesh.. I appear in the Sim Battle Tournament for a cool cameo, and I'm just as easily forgotten. Not even given credit, for that matter."

With the way Kirbynite was talking, it seemed like he would do better sitting on a rocking chair, stroking a long, white beard.

He floated over to a wall, and pulled down a screen from seemingly nowhere. He also pulled out a metallic pointer.

"Folks, time limits are needed. And a month isn't a bad thing. If anything, it would be too much, but it's best to stick with it. Did you know how many times we went past the time limit? Both on fights AND judging? Too many times, and that's what caused the tournament to go on for more than a year. And you know what happens when things just take waaaaay too long?"

An image of a kid sitting at a desk appeared on the screen. The kid's eyes were glazed over, and a large amount of drool was accumulating ontop of the desk.

"People get bored. People lose the drive. If you mix those in with real life events, then you sure as hell will not see things end well in the tournament. Besides... I'm sure most fighters in the tournaments could be classified as Hero-types."

The image on the screen changes into a monkey wearing an orange karate gi.

"Hero-types usually will not give up fights, and sometimes don't know when to quit.

Since it hasn't seem like anyone has stepped up to host the tournament, I think I will. I will be a judge as well, despite me wanting to take you guys on and show you a thing or two in person.

HOWEVER!"

The image of four sheep glaring at each other appeared on the screen.

"Every tournament has its own gimmick. Sure, the previous one didn't have one, but that in itself was a gimmick. This will be a tag-team tournament."

Kirbynite nodded twice.

"After everyone complains how I'm being a tyrant and think I'm crazy, I'll explain the rules and show the benefit of fighting in a team."

A tiny windup version of Kirbynite with tiny wings flew up to a message board in the cafeteria. It hammered an interesting sign reading:

NEW SIM-BATTLE TAG TOURNAMENT COMING SOON.

The mini-Kirbynite twirled the hammer twice before flying off.
