Oh boy, where do I start? Oh, I know. Conair!

Conair (staring Nicholas Cage) has got to be one of the worst movies ever made. There are bad haircuts, awfully recited lines, and way to many coincedances. Pointless fights abound, and get this: The entire second half of the movie is the climax. Taking a plane through a junkyard into the air, while launching a corvett into the air, losing an engine and being forced to make an emergency landing on a Vegas runway, and then finishing with a chase scene between motorcycles and a firetruck. And am I alone in thinking that the Virus's death was a bit overkill? (being chained to the firetruck ladder, slaming through a bridge, falling into a group of electrical cables, and landing on a rock crusher! Oh snap!) Mind you, this movie was so bad that it was excellent.

Jason X was awful in the idea that it was seriously an attempt at a horror film, but my god. Wasn't it hillarious? Jason kills a future grunt by tossing him on a drill, and the others report that "he's screwed." Battle android versus Jason, one of the most one-sided and hilarious things ever to watch. The guns and missle launched at Jason were just there for the fun of it. And after being pimped out by space ants into mecha-Jason? With a Machete? Hot damn, that's funny!

Final Fantasy: Spirits Within. 'Nuff said.

Dukes of Hazard. if anyone else here watches the show on CMT or Spike TV, you can surely relate when I say that the remake sucked. Piece of advice for future directors: sticking Willie Nelson into a movie does not make it a good film. That only works for Toby Keith music videos. And if anyone else dare try it again, I'll set Mecha-Jason on your sorry ass.

Milo and Otis.

...

What, cat got your tongue? *chuckles at self-wityness*

I recently bought the movie on DVD, and it really is as good as I remember. However, seeing it as a near-adult in the 21st century, I realized that it was abundant in animal cruelty. Honestly, I waited for the credits to go to the bottom so I could see the "no animals harmed" stuff, and it said something different. I believe it said something like "animals were treated respectfully and none were killed."

They have Otis fight a bear! And not some film angle BS fight, I mean muzzle to muzzle. And then, hey. Let's see how many ways we can torture this cat (or cats, I can imagine they had to replace them a few times):

*Stick the cat in a box and shove it down a river.
*Have said cat attacked by a bear as well, this time with the protection of... a drawer? WTF?
*Toss cat into deep hole until it starts to meow with hunger, cuz hey. It won't starve, right?
*Snake AND bear fights in a tree.
*Have cat attacked by a (I'd imagine they'd say trained -.-) flock of seagulls...
*And then thrown off a 50ft cliff into the ocean for effect.
*Film said cat climbing out of the ocean, and by god, if it doesn't climg out right, we'll stick it back in.

Face it. They stuck it to Milo in that movie.

Other noteworthy mentions:

The Hulk
Elektra
Jurrassic Park III
Stargate
Tommy
Any Disney sequel
Uwe Boll. UWE BOLL.

And to throw off a few people, some movies that others say are bad but I really feel good when watching:

The Matrix Trilogy. That's right, all three. The only ones who really hate the latter two movies are the people who obsess over them. You know, the ones who think that the movie's a message from the real world.

We're all "hackers" in a way. Why ain't Neo contacting us? Stupid bitch.

The Phantom Menace. If you guys could stand C3PO and R2-D2 in the original trilogy without whining, then no one, and I mean no one, has the right to complain about Jar-Jar Binks. However, if you did hate the droids already, then you're free to enter the Gungan shooting gallery.

End of Evangelion. I can can't the number of people who hated that movie on all 1,000 of my hands, each with 20-something fingers or so. "Oh noes, wtfeck is dis stih!1!??/" I'll tell you this shit, the ending was perfect. The series gave more then enough hints that everyone comes back at the end. You even saw the souls coming back, and you know humans can be reformed in LCL. What's that stuff ou there? No, in front of the giant Rei head! Yeah, that's an ocean of LCL.

Cassablanca. How can someone hate this because it's black and white? It has one of the best stories ever, was an open display against the Nazi regime before WWII by the Warner Bros, and had more twist than a Cheeto curl. The chief of the French police Pwns.

I second that. Rounded edges = good stuff.

The only problem I can really come up with is the palette of the Bullet Bills in 1-4. But that can't be helped as long as you change level palettes, and they seem like a good trade off.

Also, new floor tiles also = good stuff.

Maybe if I didn't live out in the country with a dial up speed of 12200bps I wouldn't have but you know what big deal!

I think the show is absolutely retarded.

But I do believe that Clockworkz made a valid point. Moral Orel isn't an anime. And Legault just seems to dig a deeper hole here, I mean, what's dial up have to do with posting in the right thread? I got dial up. I post in reasonably good areas.

Also, Legault, calm down. You were called a newbie, not a n00b (proper interweb spelling, of course ). There is a major difference between the two. Newbie = someone new to the area, unexperienced with the way things work. N00b = someone who, no matter how long they stay active on a forum, can't seem to shed their retardedness.

Just thought I'd define those, since you seemed to be using n00b as in everyone was new at one point, which would be newbie.

If we were to make fun of you, and we aren't, we would be saying stuff like "What's the big deal!!! Threads aren't hard to match to the right forum!!! BIG DEAL!!! Something about everyone being noobs something else big deal!!!" But we're not making fun of you, so don't worry 'bout that. =P

On a more related note, or to insert witty here, a morelated note (chuckles), I thought the show was gonna actually be, well, a kids show when I saw the advertisements for the Christmas special. Wouldn't be the first time, they've done it with Sealab 2021. But I laughed my ass off when watching it. "My little brother is the saviour!"

The show is retarded, but in that way that retards can be retarded and worm their way into your heart. Like that kid in Radio.

Perhaps someone should relocate this thread to the movies, ect. forum? Or trash it?

Huh? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Adult Swim decided to re-release an older episode of Sealab 2020 with the cast of Sealab 2021 doing voiceovers instead. It turned out to be, well... kid appropriate. You know, until the credits came rolling up, and they decided to screw around again.

I thought Moral Oral was going to be a kid show because the advertisements looked nothing like what it really was. I figure it to be just some stunt Adult Swim was pulling for fun. I was wrong, to say the least. =P

Perhaps thrice, if it were? The Hulk sucked, sucks, will suck, has sucked, had sucked, and will have sucked. There, used all six tenses.

I forgot to mention earlier, anything with the words "Sci-fi Original Picture" in front of it. Did anyone else see that mutant shark/person movie they made? What the hell was that called, I forgot, but it was as dumb as the plot was. And there was that giant komodo dragon movie they made, which included only two komodo animations (running and biting) on several badly placed backgrounds. There was an attractive girl in it, though. Big, erm... eyes. =P

God, the same thing happened to me a while back, but I found out the movie it was.

I was about 5, and just snuck into the living room to watch some TV at midnight. Then this movie came on, and I remember that it had vampires and stuff, and in the end one came up with a head that was nothing but burned flesh, and it was blown apart. That image never left my mind, due to me being quite horrified by it.

Well, last year I had an HBO free view on my sattelite box, and I decided to watch some TV. And low and behold, this movie I stumble upon seems to be familliar. I had no idea how, but kept on watching it. And finally at the end, the guy with the burning head popped on the screen, and I thought now he gets his head blown off in a shower of ashes, and low and behold it did! Fricken scared the crap out of me, being able to remember that movie like that.

That zombie movie doesn't sound familliar, but that one with the humanoids... rings a few bells...

Actually, it's more a rip off of R.L.Stine's Babysitter series than anything else. So if it's anything like those books still, the killer in the fourth installment will actually be a ghost. You know, to throw things off.

Mind you, Cindy is indestructable as it is. I think it has something to do with quantum physics or something, but as soon as you throw something at her or shoot her, it's bound to hit you instead. =/

@ asdf (before I forget)): S3&K may be the final version of Sonic 3, but when it comes to hacking, one would be best to stick with S3 only. Or at least when doing more then a graphic hack. S3&K takes up almost all the space in the ROM, so doing any editing of it would risk sticking in to much data for the 4mb limit.

I can help you right now for graphics editing. Go to sonicology.fateback.com, Hivebrain's site. In the downloads section, you should find a few programs to help, such as SonikSprite, which should help with Tails/Sonic sprites, The Sega Data Compressor, which should be able to decompress all the graphics in Sonic 3 including Robotnik, and a TLP palette list, which should make editing the graphics in TLP a lot easier if you decide to use that instead of YY-CHR. More of a personal favorite choice there, but I feel better using TLP myself.

And I can tell you this, the only way people will be interested with playing this hack is if you do some level layout work and change some tile graphics. And as I recall, the tiles in S3 are a bitch to edit. So you'd probably be better off sticking to a Sonic 2 hack if your just starting out, it has the most utilities and research done on it then other Sonic games.

Final note: Mario w/cape from SMW > Mario w/tail from SMB3

I swear, if you even think of doing that... just don't. Otherwise, an uzi will be coming out of my pocket. Focus on making difficult but fair level design. You know, no cheap blind jumps or anything, but parts that require skill and thinking. Inserting more Hammer Bros. is just an idiotic idea, as pointed out above.

I'm sorry if I come off as harsh, but that "SMW hack" of yours still rings a few bells best left unrung.

Why not just make levels with nothing but platforms you have to jump between? You know, like those ones in the original where you'd just run over the small space then suddenly fall in the slightly larger pit. Boring, but hard as... well, hard as a hard thing. =P

Well, the effort does indeed pay off. As I recall, becoming a member at SWS2B gives one limitless access to women and beer. Tech members also get the benefit of furries. XP

But wait, 30 posts? I thought it was supposed to be 20 posts! Well, more of a chance to prove myself as not a retard!

When combining graphics from different systems, such as Gens and SNES for example, it's nice to make sure that they look like they're from simillar games. Having an 8-bit Mario running with a 16-bit Sonic just looks... odd. That's why I encourage the Mario from SMW, because at least he has shading.

And you have to take the animations into account as well. With Tails, the tail itself is a seperate animation. And it's always above Tails when he's flying. So having a cape above Mario might work better then a raccoon tail sticking out of his neck. Also, when Tails get's tired, what animation would raccoon Mario use? I can easily imagine Mario using the dropping w/cape graphic from SMW.

Face.

But yeah, I support my earlier suggestion. Go with Sonic 2 if you're a beginner. The majority of utilities are designed for it, and you still get Tails. Hell, maybe you can even talk to drx and get him to help you put Tails flying ability into the game. But I doubt you have the experience neccesary to pull it off.

Perhaps a Mario-on-Yoshi sprite for Tails? explains the dropping down slow thing (Yoshi's air kick) but lets him move just like Sonic when player controlled.

Well, I'm a cheap bastard. I use utilities just for the simplicity, though TLP is the favorite for any extensive graphics work. SonikSprite and Hyrule Magic lead the front of said parade.

This is just like when those bastards at Squaresoft and Enix decided to throw that party without me. Now look what the fuck came out of it. I would have given them one of my condoms, but nnnnoooooo, they had to go and form that freak of nature, Square-Enix!

Let's just hope that WD doesn't go to Microsoft. I swore a sollemn vow to never purchase an Xbox as long as I have control over my spending hand, and I'm not gonna let them sieze it once more for their own source of income.

Is this like the affection system found in games like Star Ocean: TTEoT and the .Hack games, or is this more dating-simish while still being an RPG, like in the third Full Metal Alchemist game? I like my role playing games without the hentai, but as long as it doesn't get directly in the way of gameplay, then meh. =P

Well, at least he's trying. And he ain't Loftydog or Vergo, that's a plus. Also, I garuntee you Bago that there have been plenty more misuses of SonikSprite than this one. I recall with a heavy heart the kid who IM'ed me saying he was a friend of Johnny's and wanted me to alter my Rogue sprites to be topless.

*shakes head*

And honestly, if answering a few questions, nay, doing a little research is beyond you, then the hacking scene isn't really for you. The system is quite effective. As I recall, just having a decent hack to show off makes you a member automatically. The fact that I haven't registered yet is just a toss to my lazyness. But I have seen the quiz before, and hanging around on google and even Acmlm would give you all the answers.

Viewers: What the hell is this crap, anyway? I came here to see the end of Evangelion, not Hideaki Anno's public couch trip!

Shinji: I hate you! Yet I need you. Here, have some depressing Eva movies.

Viewers: ARGH!!

=P

Yeah, the reason the ending sucked is because the maker, whatsisname, was depressed and stuff. but at least the TV series ending was, you know, an ending. Third Impact happens, congrats, we have no free will.

Then those people over in Japan were hella pissed at the ending, and started sending death threats and such to the creator. So what's he do? Make "End of evangelion" as revenge on their sorry asses. Mind you, there's more then enough evidence to support the idea that everyone comes back after 3I is cancled, but it still was a cliffhanger.

Interesting note: Asuka's line "Pathetic" in the movie was mistranslated. It was supposed to be "Disgusting", in response to what Shinji did at the hospital. damn, them girls in comas are hot!

Hopefully though, the live action Evangelion film won't be westernized to such a point that everything is happy-go-lucky. I swear, if even an inkling of a father-son relationship appears between Shinji and Gendo, I'll flip.

The movies up and running, but so far little progress has been made. It his being worked on by Weta Workshop, the company behind the special effects of LoTR. So yeah, you were right Sion. Most likely gonna be kickass CG content. You can find the sketches Sion was talking about on the Weta Workshop page, which I am too lazy to Google up right now. =P

The movie is gonna take place up until at least Ramile, cube w/ drill angel. Probably a bit further, since concept sketches included Asuka's outfit as well. So I don't know if it will be as "trippy" as expected, since it won't just be some bum-rush to cram the entire series into an hour and a half. Just encompassing enough of the series to perk enough interest for sequels. And with a budget boardering on that of LoTR itself (100 millionish), it will most likely do just that.

Now, recent quotes from the owner of Weta, Richard Taylor, from eva.trivialbeing.net, yet again in turn from IGN, on the movie:

"I've just been to Japan pursuing this, [...] I think that is the great untold story to the world. It is sublime. It is arguably some of the most beautiful and poignant animation ever created, and a huge percentage of the pop culture world now know it, but only through a live-action feature film will it transcend that and receive the recognition for the art piece that it is.

Now, actually achieving it as a live-action feature film is extremely difficult to imagine. Technologically, sure, it's doable. But at an esoteric, universe level, it is an unbelievably impacting and dramatic story concept. [It's got] pseudo-religious overtones, and all these wonderful motifs are woven into it. It's something that you can generate over 26 hours of animation, but trying to encapsulate that down into a feature film would be a massive challenge. But … with the right director, I think it could be a very beautiful movie. …And that's my big pursuit at the moment. I've put an awful lot of energy into it."

Also, random tifbits for 'yah:

*Movie is set for release in 2007-2010.

*Daniel Radcliff (dear God no!) was considered for Shinji's role, then shot down.

*The exec. producer , Mathew greenfield, is the husband of the woman who did Asuka's voice.

*Even more fan mail is coming in for the production of the NGE live action film than that for LoTR. About 25 NGE letters to every one LoTR letter, actually.
