| Well, firstly you dismantle the nuclear weapon at the Warhead by removing the plutonium. It is only the size of a baseball, keep in mind, but without proper radiation shielding those doing such a thing will most certainly suffer from severe radiation poisoning.
Afterwards, the plutonium is then placed in a casing which is properly shielded against radiation for transport. Actual transport would obviously not be dealt with normal shipping methods. I would probably recommend the stuff be carried on a military class frigate with an escort, then airlifted to the reactor site once on the eastern continent, stopping at military installations for fuel. This is all done, of course, when the reactor is ready to go and ready for testing. Otherwise, whats the point of shipping it out there just to sit around and risk a radiation leak? In the meantime, it would be best to educate those interested in how to operate a Nuclear Power facility. Their curriculum would probably be how to operate a monitoring device, how the entire facility operates and some basic knowledge of Nuclear Fission and chemistry. Money issues are non-issue. You give a little for construction, and you get all the power you ever need. Not only does this give more incentive for jobs to be opened up, it should promote the technological industry growth in those countries who support the projects. Do you not see how wonderful it would be over there? I think this is probably one of the best ideas ever. And we all know why America has an issue with Iran's Nuclear Program. But they need more power now more than ever, so lets give it to them. At least Russia isn't so thickheaded for once. |

| What kind of alternatives do you suggest? Coal? Geothermal? Or (Dare I say) Solar Power? Perhaps a big windmill might substitute enough for this. Yes, they're all cheaper and safer but their end results are either unsatisfactory or harmful to the environment, even untested.
Solar Power was thought for a long time to be our best alternative. Now we can see that won't happen because a solar panel cannot pump out enough juice to power much. Even if we made alot of them, and made an orbital sattelite to magnify the suns shine, there would have to be one for every solar plant being made. Geothermal...I kinda like the idea, but how can we harness the magma flowing beneath the earth when the deepest anyone has ever gone below the surface of the Earth is 8 miles? The crust is very thick, and to carry heat that far doesn't seem possible. Windmills just look dumb, put simply. Effective, perhaps, but at the same time, do we really want a bunch of windmills lying around at the sides of roads and just occupying space? To counter your point about using this as a bribe to not allow nuclear weapons, that it is not. This is an opportunity to focus on more important issues like the future of their country and giving them power to their cities. To put it one way, both Industry and Technological Growth have a HUGE opportunity to benefit from this in third world countries. Yes, these countries might have a "less developed infrastructure" as you put it, and I agree, but using this new advancement, I feel change would be for the better. In the case that a country becomes unstable, politically or otherwise, then a nuclear reactor does become a threat. Which is why the counter measures are the responsibility of the Government and Military. Not the US, not the UN, but the country in question. If their citizens can incite a rebellion of significant force, then I'm sure the military will be able to supress it with equal force. And now we ask ourselves: Why the constant subsidization? Is it really that hard to keep a Power Plant operational without constant funding? I think the reason the Government throws out so much money is because they signed a contract saying they would. Not that they probably don't have to, they can't really go back on it for legal issues. I don't think it costs a billion dollars a year to keep a Nuclear Reactor functional. Plus, the chance of a meltdown is pretty slim, however more increased by the fact that they will be in third world countries. PS: I'm not paying. If I could, I would, but thats up to the Government of the country in question to build a Nuclear Power plant. |

Well, thanks for the correction I didn't know Critical Mass only meant what you mentioned.
Also, I've been reading up on Podkletnov a little bit, and it seems that NASA has been trying the same thing for a while now. Unfortunately, their ceramic discs are very fragile, and are prone to breaking, especially the very large ones. Heck, even some university students have been trying out this eperiment and finding the same results. But Quartz may be a hoax. I regret to inform I haven't tried it yet, because my days off have been spent getting drunk or just completely fucked up. I think I have tomorrow off, not sure, but if I do I'm finally going to try the experiment. It's too early in the week to get messed up, anyway ![]() |

Nothing much, just an 8 bit image I cooked up, and not even a screenshot to be honest (It's not the proper resolution). I kinda like the way it all faded into pixels, but thats not the real background anyhow, just a rectangle I threw in behind some text with some white streaks flying around. It's a SNES game homebrew I'm working on. An Action/RPG and a 4th installment to the Soul Blazer series. I just liked Terranigma and Illusion of Gaia so much I had to make a fan tribute. http://www.freewebs.com/consoledev/ PS: Any way I can format my images with Fireworks to be 16 bit color? |

| DNA is a blueprint of your body. All your features, all your personality traits, everything. Thats what DNA is. It isn't 1's and 0's that can be decoded. It's A, T, C, or G. Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine and Guanine.
But ACTG are just components of the DNA strand. The way the are composed is what makes the blueprint. And during conception, or whenever the egg and sperm combine, thats when your blueprint is formed. Your daddy made a sperm, and your mommy made and egg (I think it's 23 chromosomes in the ovum and 23 chromosomes in the sperm). When both gametes combined, they made you, and only a half (The 23 that nature selected) of those chromosomes make up the zygote. This is why you have traits from both your mom and your dad. Depending if the Y chromosome is passed on from your Dad, you will either be a boy or a girl. Chromosomes are paired like so, in 23 pairs: XX XX XX XX ... XX XY XX That XY is in the male. In the case of a female, the Y is replaced with X. Anyway, you could make an AI that was similar to yourself. Not by extracting DNA, but through programming it yourself. Ask yourself questions like: What is DNA? What does DNA look like and why? How many combinations of ACTG can there be? What attributes do each combination make? How can I program these combinations? - A strand of DNA is composed of 4 of the 5 nucleotides that comprise both DNA and RNA. Adenine is paired with Thymine, and Guanine is paired with Cytosine using a hydrogen base bond. The Nucleotide not mentioned here is Uracil, which replaces Thymine when looking at RNA and is produced by the degredation of Cytosine. - DNA is found in all living things on Earth, but for the more complex cells (Also known as Eukaryotes) it is mostly found in the Nucleus of the cell. - Both DNA and RNA are in the shape of a double helix. This is because of the pairing that is done to make up the structure of DNA and RNA. - There are 64 possible combinations of ACTG. You could program your human shell using 3 things: 1) It must be able to learn. Everything you do is from learned experience, so you can either program it to learn, or program it with a set database of knowledge. You learn through all 5 senses (Touch, Taste, Sound, Sight, Smell) and the AI therefore can only interpret 2 of those. 2) It must use its behaviour according to it's "DNA" structure and it's learned experience. If you program it to be modest, it won't brag about itself. If you program it to be obnoxious, it will call you names and be loud and belligerent. But those can all change because of learned behaviour. 3) It MUST be self aware. It must know it lives within a virtual reality. Alot of people would disagree, but thats what Intelligence really is. Being sentient. But off the topic of AI. Can you clone yourself? Maybe (For a scientist). There is a dominant gene in all people, and this gene is dominant in a certain way throughout a bloodline (AKA Family Tree). It's the main reason related people have a mutated birth when they have a kid and why incest is wrong. There is the odd case that gene is non existant, and thus having a child between 2 cousins (Or other relatives) is possible. My theory is: Take a sperm sample from yourself and an ovum from any animal (Humans included). By disabling that dominant gene in one of the sperm, you can insert that nucleus into an Ovum and perhaps bond them through conception. Chromosomes overwrite each other and boom, you're looking at yourself 30 years ago. Then there's always the Dolly method, where they cloned a lamb or some such animal similar. EDIT: Just read netscape's post, adding another 2 cents Engineering human DNA is not impossible. You need the glucose bases, the hydrogen bonds, and the nano technology to operate on something so small. Other things too, of course, but to simplify things I'll keep those for WikiPedia to explain. Sure, you could copy someone's DNA, but you still need to make a nucleus for a sperm or ovum that contains that DNA. For example, you can't just transfuse someone's DNA into another persons body and expect them to morph into that person. It starts from the seed and works it's way up. But do we really want to sell our souls for money? Life is God's gift to Earth, and no matter how much the Agnostics of this world want to make money off of cloning technology, it should stick to being scientific purposes. I would frown on the man who capitalizes selling people for cash. What God fearing man wouldn't? For once, George Bush is right. Cloning should be banned forever. Perhaps not research and experimenting, but cloning technology itself. Hell, cloning can do alot of things for this world. But if you have any good morals, you should never sell your soul for cash. | I think it's World War 3 material, much like World War 1 started.
However, until I see a horned helmet on each Danish and Norwegian soldier, I remain unimpressed. |

| I dunno about magnets. They would have to be very powerful...But that might work. There is an issue with practicality though, because everyone in the vicinity with a pacemaker will be affected and probably croak when they go near it.
Plus, metal will be hugely attracted to it, so any kind of metal not attached to something securely is gonna be attracted and attached to the magnets. |

Link It was a little awkward with a webcam, but it's an old pic. Right now I have some skin issues on my chest, so no recent sexy pictures for you yet.

| Pornography is awesome. I love to watch it. It's not degrading to me, and most of the women I know just laugh when I bring it up, including adults. There is the odd feminist that will write me a friggin bible on how stupid it is, but I just figure it's best to smile, nod, and slowly walk away.
If it doesn't turn you on...Thats actually kinda confusing. You might want to get that checked out, or find something that gets it up, because when you make that choice later on in life, to procreate, you're gonna be kinda disappointed if your little soldier can't snap to attention. That or pop a Viagra, just to make sure. Your choice. |

| Don't snap at me man, I'm just throwing my opinion on the table. I never said "Go to the doctor now and check that shit you freaky fucker!", I just gave a suggestion. Any doctor will either:
A) Give you a psychological reason, or B) Give you Viagra to see if it's even possible And besides that, your doctor is (Or should be) your closest confidant for stuff like this. It's his job to make sure you're ok, not to make fun of a stupid question. Don't be so defensive. Did you see anything aggressive in my post? Maybe that last part, but if you really can't get it up, then it's a serious problem. If you just choose not to, then thats entirely fine. Whatever floats your boat, man. I'm not here to judge you. Always remember that nobody is your judge and your stress level will be decreased ALOT. Believe me, it works. Plus, porn is written and directed to entertain sexual drives, but that doesn't mean everyone will be enticed by it. Some people have fetishes, others just have distaste for watching porn. Not my business, in any case. |

A physical quality I don't like is my skin, because it gets extremely dry and VERY itchy. Someone suggested Psoriasis once, but it is not quite that, just close to it. I like the fact that my skin can bronze over without any effort put into it, and most chicks like it too
An emotion I like to have is that I'm very loyal to my friends, and very generous. The one I dislike is one I can't really describe. I feel like nobody cares about me, so I try my hardest to care about the rest of the world. It makes me feel good, but I know I should be doing other things for myself first. |

| I agree that while Survival of the Fittest may be realistic in the animal kingdom, it doesn't work in the case of civilization.
Look at Capitalism and Socialism, for example. With Capitalism, you have to fight to survive in the world or end up living a life of poverty. In Socialism, the fight to survive doesn't exist. You make the same amount of money as everyone else, and depending on how corrupt the government is, probably a very minimal amount. Which doesn't really matter if inflation sinks through the floor, but the point is that there is no fight there. I like the idea, but for me the world should live in an equal world. And for me, Socialism is that way. |

| Another reason I like Socialism is because if you make the same amount of money as the next guy, you no longer have to fight just to survive. You would be able to afford a living, and that way, whatever your passion is in life, thats what you can strive for without worrying about any monetary issues. Everyone would be happy, and there would be no more arguments over money.
Too stoned to add more, back later... |
