I use Win2K, not any of the *nix's, purely for personal preference. Also XP never liked my hardware, maybe that's changed now.

Now the far background changes according to GMT time (as there is no variable to grab the viewing user's forum time, unfortunately).

.. oh, and the logo links to the website now. (Although it's only a splash page. :o)

I haven't downloaded this yet, but I think I can get the gist of what this hack is about.

The only advice I can give you, seeing as I don't exactly hack any SMW stuff myself but have done and am doing a Sonic 2 hack, is to start small, and maybe learn how to use the applications for hacking properly, and work on one good level with what already exists in there. Put real time and effort into it, more than just one night, and make it as good as you possibly can. Show it off at first, explaining it is the first time you've ever done something like it, and ask for serious critique on it. Then, depending on the replies, either work more on making that level better or do another one. Carry on doing this, and as time goes on you'll find things easier to do, get the general idea of what is good and what isn't. Only then, should you think about going on to the other things, such as the overworld, new graphics and eventually new objects etc.

Just my two pence. :| I lurk too often..
