| I know I've seen something similar (my friend had this adapter that allowed him to play his dreamcast on his moniter), so there has to be something. Alls I'm asking is if you guys have heard the name for a more generic (the one my friend had was only for the dreamcast, not for any coaxial [cable] to the moniter output) version of this.

TFT screen is expensive O_o. I have an s-video out on my video card anyway, I'd be better off just buying a TV. Anyway, this town only has major places like best buy and curcuit city, so I doubt they'd have something like this for a reasonable price, costed me like 8 bucks for a coax splitter =/... I guess I'll check that vid cap card thing out... |

Uh, if I'm not mistaken, you can use your windows explorer to go online... it's just not recommended. And you got rid of the command.com command too, right? |

| So my uncle let me know that if I were to learn non .net ASP, that he'd have some (consistant) work for me to do. (he also wanted me to familiarize myself with dreamweaver and MySql server, but that's beside the point)
So I ordered the book he recommended, but I'd just like a good place to get familiarized while I'm waiting for it. so anyone know a place that lets you practice this? |

weelllll, having been involved in the porn industry one way or another for a while (not as an actor or photographer ), lemme get started:
fake tits, tattoos (not nearly as common as the person who brought it up made it out to be, at least in significant levels), piercings, loud screaming, obnoxious dirty-talk, borderline abusive treatment in some cases, etc. this is all a result of marketing. Between guess-check-adjust, to marketing groups, to just viewing how sales go in some experimental gonzo film (deepthroat, anyone?). now with internet, they just have to make spammy websites to determine which keywords people are looking for. It then turns into the saaame reason why we have to go through so many channels of CRAP before we finally find something decent to watch, and for some people, the only decent shows are the pre-marketing attack ones. Basically making nick at night the porn equivalent of vintage porn .
So, you're all suffering due to the wants and preferences of the majority, (not to mention the fact that most of the women in porn are unfortunately, complete bimbos. So they may overdo what the director tells them to do) If you want sex pretty much as real as it's gonna get, amateur couples porn would probably be the way to go. I emphasize couples because the word "amatuer" is getting thrown around quite a bit nowadays. (edited by Zer0wned on 03-25-06 12:03 PM) |

| I trim by necessity.
See, thing is, circumstances only allow for me to get handjobs for the *sob* past year or so, and probably the next couple months (girlfriend's dad is always home, and she lives in a super-gated community like 20 miles away )
Well, one of my nicknames used to be man-beast, and for three reasons: #1- I'm strong, and have kind of an old-fasioned manly build #2- pretty good with animals #3- a (reasonably) hairy man. I had significant chest hair when I was 16 O_o... luckily the growth kinda slowed down (so no hairy back, phew) anyway, all that hair + awkwardly positioned handjobs = RRRIIP.... (that's the unsolicited ripping out of a small tuft of pubes T_T) So yeah, either make it so I can be heard from oxnard due to a handjob gone wrong, or trim it up a bit... and I'm too manly for shaving, it wouldn't look right compared to the rest of me. Originally posted by Plus Sign Abomination Having been involved in the drug distribution culture before, sometimes those guys are just retailers, the "manufacturers" are the ones raking in the big cash, and being accused of funding terrorism to some degree of accuracy. On the other hand though, that's not always the case, a lot of the time they grow their stuff up north somewhere, hidden in a field, or have some kind of little setup at their house. I think it's really funny how much people defend marijuanna, and how valiantly! For what cause now, beyond medicinal? For recreation? How self serving and immature. With alcohol, it was different, people's livelyhoods depended on it, and then all of the sudden, people are forced out of business because of a new law. That's why I understand the prohibition thing to some extent. Marijuanna on the other hand is starting to sound like a buncha fucking "but I waaannnaaa!!!". It's illegal, get over it. Fact is, most illegal things people do are because they want to, not because they need to, at least in some of the more civil governments, and no matter how much "but country x is waaay better than america" you feel like spouting, the US isn't THAT bad and non-understanding. So all this protesting, all this whining, all this bullshit for what? So you guys have another type of buzz to catch? My GOD, grow up. Regardless of how much better or worse it is than alcohol or tobacco, or whatever else, fact is, there's no NEED for it to be legal. It has zero health benefits, and no person that didn't decide to illegally start selling it is going to be at a disadvantage from it's continued illegality. It's like medicine, like vicodin. It'll give you a buzz, but that's not what it's for. I say treat it like medicine, with the same laws applied on them. Originally posted by Plus Sign Abomination I'm a bit rusty, last time I've posted here on anything remotely controversial was like late october. You point, I'll patch. Anyway, if marijuanna was always legal, then suddenly was outlawed, my opinion would be a lot different (at least on the legality of it, I'll always hate it as a personal opinion), but it always has been. Everyone started knowing full well that it was illegal, which is proof that anyone who does it, doesn't care about it's legality anyway! These self-indulgent stoners just want it to be cheaper and easier/safer to get a hold of. As for pot vs alcohol, pot will carry with it its own set of new problems legalized. Seriously, just because you're happy, doesn't mean you're not in some way fucking something up for someone. A drug that makes you unproductive for a couple hours at a time. Outstanding. At least alcohol is good for your cardiovascular system. But really, they should all be illegal. Screw stoners, alcoholics, and smokers, you're all ruining the health systems and society. (I drink, hypocracy, lol) |

| video games improve motor and reading skills, sometimes other things depending on the game being played, so not a complete waste of time. What's weed done for your brain? Besides, PS2 wasn't illegal at any point, I'm pretty sure. Other recreational activities usually reap some kind of benefit in one way or another, anyway, and screw up very few if any lives.
And weed ruins plenty of lives, I've seen it. In fact, it's messed mine up, and I don't even smoke it. Further still, I personally have seen more ruining done by weed than alcohol, but I'm pretty sure that's just my personal surroundings, so disregard that. There really is no good reason that any mind altering drugs (including alcohol and cigarettes) should have ever been legal in the first place, but we're stuck with the two because they've helped found the country's fiscal beginnings, and no one seems to either know, or be willing to find out how to remove that without significant negative effects on the economy (or without making society lose its mind, like that try with alcohol). Marijuanna didn't help fund the country at any time, so it missed its chance to also be embedded in the US's sin-tax income. I think the current standpoint of "tough shit, we're not fucking things up more" is a good one. |

| I think I made sure to mention that I exclude medical marijuanna in this on like every post so far, so I'm not the only one missing some facts. But still, an oops is in order for me =/.
And yeah, california had been doing that medicinal marijuanna thing for a good while now. My dad is a BS "certified caregiver" or some tomfoolery like that because he takes care of his.... uh, I dunno what the relation is, ladyfriend of some kind... And is allowed to possess a certain number of pounds of marijuanna. So is the woman who needs it for glycoma. They've been running this little specific thing for about a year now. "Drugs Though the Netherlands has a tolerant attitude towards drug use (possession of small quantities of soft drugs for personal use being tacitly allowed), hard drugs and marijuana (or hash) are still technically illegal. Buying drugs offered by street vendors is a dangerous and risky business, especially in the red-light district, and should be avoided at all costs." from - http://show-info.nl/amsterdam/e/exp_overig166 another fact not straight... See? It's easy to make mistakes, isn't it? On a seperate note, I find it funny that people blame their government for their inability to control themselves on things they reasonably shouldn't do. It's like having a button that says "DO NOT PRESS", and everyone keeps saying "FUCK YOU, I SHALL PRESS THIS BUTTON", and then something bad happens. Then blames the button. | Lemme see here...
Poory mapped out flow of thought Outdated or just plain innaccurate source(s) Poor examples Not having all the facts straight I guess 5 months of a combination of incomplete boot camp, homelessness, several borderline anxiety attacks along with the related discovery of a social phobia, and having rage get the bast of you for 35% of that time will do that to you .
I came back to acmlm's to get some mental stimulation again, because I'd been fairly shut off for a long time, but I guess I'm still a little too fucked over as far as patience and concentration goes to be holding my own here as I at least was able to sometimes before. Especially when almost everyone is opposed to my view, and quite strongly. So in light of my unbiased (about as unbiased as I can get it, doing it myself), review of myself, I'm gonna stand down, hopefully a civil and somewhat respectable move. Not trying to look better than anyone, just trying to hold on to whatever shred of a percentage of respect that may or may not exist for me here, so when I come back, I'm not just the guy that made a complete ass of himself and bailed out. I'm the guy that made a complete ass of himself, apologized, then left to do some self-improvement. I don't think the "missed the government's problem-causing cash crop train" and "why add another issue to the list, even if it is less bad than alcohol or tobacco?" parts have even been aknowledged, let alone "had the lids blown off"of them. And is it just me, or are a lot of people making marijuanna out to be the only or form of available recreation to a lot of people? Seriously, is everyone getting so bad now that they're too lazy to go have some other kind of fun (most definitely a non-issue for the legality thing, just saying)? Sorry, had to get that last bit outta my system, but seriously, I'm done for a while |

| It's very true that religion is used to manipulate the masses.
Homosexuality is looked down upon in the christian religion (and quite a few others) because it demotes reproduction, same reason any forms of preservation of life are so largely enforced into "your" values. Religions want their followers to reproduce so much so their numbers are greater, which I think at the time of creation was intended to be helpful to mankind. Or just as possibly a concious step towards domination (conjuring troops for religious wars, or just plain overrunning). As for genetics, both sides need to stfu, there's no definitive proof either way. Just a little evidence on both sides. If it were in fact genetic, it's bound to die out really fast, merely by design (save for donor and surrogate babies). But it's been around for far too long (ancient greece and probably before that) for that to be the case. One study I know of said that variences in testosterone/estrogyn in the womb may play some part. My guess is just basic environmental variables and chemical differences (not allowed to say "imbalances", because it'll make me sound like I'm saying it's wrong, and I don't feel like getting involved in the right or wrong, just whether or not it's natural) Some species of shark (and a species of frog, remember jurassic park?) can actually switch genders in order to fill in a need, but as far as I know, it only works going from female to male. Interesting related nature fact .
Btw, brokeback mountain was immoral in almost any sense due to the lack of self control displayed. Gay or not, a vow is a fucking VOW, if you wanna go ride your buddy, get a divorce or get permission, otherwise you're committing a fairly universal sin, as well as a show of weakness of one's word. As far as homosexual individuals go, they freak me the hell out in some cases, people that earn the name "queer" are the ones I'm talking about. The completely normal ones don't, but make me uncomfortable regardless because I've noticed gay guys find me attractive T_T. The overall concept doesn't bother me at all, the population needs to lower a bit, I think. |

| So far I've been tinkering like crazy with windows server 2003's IIS, and successfully running ASP pages with SQL server 2000 access (both locally and over the internet, guess I'm lucky enough to have an ISP that doesn't block port 80 =D).
I can use images and all, but if I try to send a file via http or ftp (ftp abilities have apparently been enabled, but I can at best get things to list in leapFTP, but I can't DL/UL anything ), I get a 401.3 error (Access is denied due to an ACL set on the requested resource). I googled this and all I could come up with was setting folder permissions, or the web service extensions node in the IIS tree, which are both at the minimum level of security. Knowing that server 2003 is painfully secure out of the box, I'm pretty sure I'm missing some little thing that I need to enable, but I don't know what it is =/. any ideas? |

But anyway, I did that already, which is why the ASP pages execute without issue. I figured out what it was a while ago, and I thought I posted the solution, but I guess I got distracted 80% of the way through the post and then closed my browser when I got back.... oops. So what the solution was: right-click "my computer">manage>internet information services>right click "web sites">properties>home directory tab, then enable appropriate permissions from there. EDIT: Actually, that only worked for a couple file types. Turns out you have to manually add certain allowed MIME types. (done in "web sites" properties>"HTTP headers" tab) Helpful reference for anyone else who comes across this. (edited by Zer0wned on 07-09-06 07:47 AM) |
