Story: It's been nearly twenty years since Mario has defeated Wart, but despite all the adventures of Mario in the past two decades, Wart has been up to no good. He captured a princess names Marigold and has been using her as his personal servant in the Fungus Kingdom for many years. Mario finally discovered this news, and as always, Mario is willing to help a princess in distress. So, he set off to the Fungus Kingdom to rescue the damsel from the evil clutches of Wart. However, no adventure for the seasoned plumber is simple. When Mario reached the Fungus Kingdom, he realized that Wart had sealed away the bridges across the kingdom leading to his castle ten years ago. So, the only way he could make it across the Fungus Kingdom is if he fought the seven Koopalings guarding the time warp orbs, allowing him to travel back in time to when the bridges weren't sealed. Mario sure had one of his biggest adventures ahead of him. With this hack, I tried to design better levels. I made sure that I started it out easy and bearable, and then got progressively harder. Yes, it's got SMAS and YI graphics, but as most of you should know level design is the most important, so I did my best with that, still, without making it look like total crap. There are plenty of secrets in the levels, bonuses, and secret exits, so it should keep you occupied. This demo goes through world 3. http://www.freewebs.com/goldenyoshi/SMW+7 Demo 1.zip |

I didn't complete 6.
I was pretty disappointed with SMW+6 that I decided to scrap it altogether and start over new. Now with SMW+7 I hope to bring some better designed and more reasonable levels. |

Those palettes are the same as the SMAS ones, you make less and less sense everyday , you don't even care to explain yourself at all. I think you just love to be a dick. Yeah, and peter_ac, that's your gfx hack I used, so you're kind of insulting your own work. Makes sense though. Yeah anyway, April Fools. G'day. (edited by Golden Yoshi on 04-01-06 09:18 AM) |

Heh...you know this would be a bit funnier if this thread wasn't like you at all, but unfortunately you're the same asshole as always, so uh, it's about as funny as the other jokes here. Nice try...well, actually no.

I used your gfx hack to make the screens. Anyway, this isn't real and never will be.

I just got around to playing this, and I gotta say, I expected much better from you. The graphics and palettes were pretty drab and hurt my eyes. I typically don't like the idea of a one huge level hack, and yours didn't hold my interest. For one the level was very tough, the boost blocks were a bitch to get used to because I'd end up not jumping at the right time and falling to my death. Plus, if you die you've gotta start all over again and go through the same frustration. Wonderful. Maybe you intended for people to use savestates, but constantly hitting the button when you fuck up gets irritating. There are still some glitches lurking around like the note block in the castle tileset mentioned before, and then the glitch when hitting the "Red/Blue" blocks. Not to mention that small Mario is actually big, and then he can go under one-space-wide gaps, which looks pretty ridiculous. Overall I was not satisfied with this hack and it didn't please me. Sorry.

The screens do not really look impressive. For one, it's the same old SMAS graphics. That's not that bad, the palettes for the most part are fine, but the level structure itself appears to be boring. For one thing, they look repititive. In the 1st screen, there is one vine after another, in the 4th are a bunch of green blocks the same size, and in the 5th are a bunch of note blocks. Plus, there aren't many enemies in the screens and that makes them look boring. And in the title screen, the first letter in Elvin is regular, but the rest are on a black background, fix that.
Also, you should credit peter_ac in the game, but I don't really see it to be necessary to credit him right away. |

Originally posted by Glyph Phoenix He sorta has a point, I hate to admit. He's not saying give up for sure, just make sure that your levels aren't filled with glitches and have nice designed levels, otherwise it will just be another crappy noob hack that we don't want to see. Anyway I say give it another try, and make sure you work very hard on making fun levels free of glitches. I haven't actually played your hack so I am just giving advice by what these people say. If you still can't produce something decent after that, then maybe SMW hacking isn't for you. |
