Screw it, I'll cease to open my mouth from now on to give my opinions. It'll just end up with some bashing. Don't look for me to give any criticisms anymore.

You will need "Command.com" to run the prompt it says in the readme. Use your Find feature on your computer to locate this, and place it in the same folder as your ROM. Load the Command.com up, enter the prompt, bada-bing, bada-boom, you've decompressed the graphics.

Yeah...I saw them in person 2 years ago before they were famous at Washington Square in NYC. The people were really into them back then too, they were dancing all around like they've just won the lottery.

That is the same Aioria. He PM'ed on this board about something only me and him knew about, so it's the same guy.

I think this is officially the worst thread I ever made.

Agreed. It's brought out the worst in everyone. Well maybe not everyone, just a few people. As you've seen voicing your opinion even in a calm manner here gets you barraged for no good reason.

Well, some people just seem to get pissed off that I didn't vote for them. There are certain people here that I think are at the top of SMW hacking, much better than me even. But when I voiced my opinion on who I thought were really good, I'm the one who gets barraged. First, Techokami gets pissed at me because I didn't vote for him for his animations alone. Then, Alastor gets pissed off with me because I didn't vote for him, because he so desperately needs attention likes he's the best thing around these parts. Face it, there are people who do it better than you, as they do it better than me, get over yourself.

Sorry...but that had really pissed me off. It's like I can't even talk without people lashing out at me.

Hmm...
Well, you seem to want to make a slanted ceiling without the dirt ridges. Unfortunately, you can't make slanted ceilings except when they are in cross-sections, so you're out of luck. As for the cross-section looking funky on the straight ceiling, the cross-section must be place in between the whole ceiling and not on the edges of the ceiling, otherwise it will cause the weirdness seen there.

Go to hell. How is it a leap? You're the one who asked me why I didn't vote for you, as if it was absolutely necessary to vote for you.

Well then why the hell did you even need to ask me why I didn't vote for you? Is it really any of your damn business? I just voted for who I felt was the best. Why would you even need to ask why someone didn't vote for you, is it because you think you're the best around here?

Verified by Page 5.

Now, let me say something here for those who constantly are arguing and bickering:
Shut up. Now.
This thread is about your favorite SMW hacker, not how you should be the top hacker and dissing other people's hacks. If you want to diss people's hacks, make a Worst Hack thread. Remember that thread? That is what this thread is turning into.
The first page is nothing but arguing over ornydier's hack!

For those hating Kyouji, he gives constructive criticism mixed in some comedic way. That is just him...
Sure, its cruel. Since when has criticism not been?

Who did I vote for? I voted BMF, Kyouji, Juggling Joker, and FuSoYa. Here is why:

BMF: I've seen good ASM hacks from him alone. That and he is always positive.
Kyouji: First person to IM me when I joined these boards. Released three demos of the same hack with which something new is in every one. Some techniques he used I base mine off of.
JJ: A different style of art. Shown a lot of progress since demo 1.
FuSoYa: He is mysterious, but he has fed the community which would be even smaller without him.

Note that they may or may not have the greatest hacks ever. Who ever said this was about best hack? This is about favorite hacker. Who's favorite hacker? YOURS! MINE! Its an opinion thread! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and you should respect it. Hell, if they don't like you, get over it! Everyone in the world isn't going to like you so don't expect them to.

Right now I am going to quote BMF54123 from that very thread.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: let's remain positive and helpful, not negative and hurtful. It only drags the community down further.

And we have yet to follow this.

I say that opinion threads like this have a disclaimer or something on the first post...

I apologize for my temper. My argument didn't have anything to do with dissing any SMW hackers at all, I was just pissed off with the way a couple hackers seemed mad that I didn't vote for them, as if my opinion on the best hackers were invalid.

I still don't take back anything I said to Alastor or Techokami, if they were joking, they didn't make it clear at all, plus that is the type of answer I would expect from Alastor anyway.

The goal sprite is pretty funky. It will likely vanish when placed too close to other sprites. The best thing to try is to place the whole goal farther back away from bigger sprites and see what happens.

And GY, that is the goal sprite in the screen .

You may want to try moving the goal sprite further down the green goal platform. See if that works.

So far it looks pretty good, but you need to pay close attention to not messing up those cross-sections and such. In the first screen, as you can see, the ceiling all the way at the left ends but the dirt keeps going above it, that needs to be fixed. And in the third screen, if you look all the way at the top, the ledge looks a little funky where the shadow and the dirt meet.

I just finished playing. You have done a good job so far, your level design was great. Mind you, there were several problems...

Welcome Level
1. The green butterfly on layer 3 looks bad. That isn't meant to be a color of the butterfly and looks weird. That butterfly is actually controlled by the layer 1 palette, so you should either eliminate that layer 3 altogether or change the layer 1 color until both the butterfly and FG looks good.
2. After the first message in the level goes away, the screen shoots down and there is a big hole in the ground. Fix this by adding object xFE or xFF I believe, to the screen above the entrance.
3. At the end, there is an egg block on a tree. When you hit it, though, you see a hole in the tree trunk. Fix this by moving the egg block else where.

1-1
1. At the beginning, the dirt has no edge at the top ceiling.
2. The layer 3 mist looks bad when you reach the top of the level, it's broken in many spots. You may want to check your layer 3 setting and fix them accordingly until it looks right, or replace layer 3 with something else.
3. In the part with the chomp rock by the flower, if you forget to push the rock into the hole with the flower, you have no way of getting back up and you must reset.
4. To the right of the first green pirahna plant, there is a diagonal slope that has an edge that doesn't have a proper corner, fix that.
5. You fall into the slope to the left of the upside down red pirahna plant. Adjust the slope's length to fix this.
6. The green pirahna plant in the high cross-section sometimes does not appear. Green pirahna plants take up more sprite memory so you may need to eliminate it from that particular spot or move it until it doesn't vanish.
7. The left ledge with the yellow spikes doesn't have an edge to it.
8. The red shyguy next to the upside down red pirahna plant comes out upside down and glides across the floor when you spit it out. I have no idea why that happens.
9. The screen shoots down after the yellow shifting platform part with the downward slope with the tap taps on it. The best way to fix it is to put some objects in the screen above these slopes, that way it won't suddenly shoot down.
10. In the goal room, the trees are not touching the ground.

Phew...I think that's it. Overall you are off to a great start. That first level was really fun and well designed, and you seem to be getting accustomed to game's mechanics very quickly. You just need work on a few issues like little graphical issues and sprite problems, but you will get better as you keep designing. Plus, it's tricky at the beginning since you can't even see what you're putting in when editing in EggVine, so it just takes some getting used to.

So in conclusion, great start, keep it up .

Anyone pick up this new DS platformer yet? I got it when it came out last Tuesday, and for the most part it's a pretty fun game. A tad on the easy side, but still a fun platformer that was long overdue. The vibe idea is pretty cool, you channel different emotions for Peach and she gains different abilities, although it's not the most amazing thing I've seen. Plus, it has good replayability value as new levels open up after you beat the game, and there are a few minigames.

Well, that's my two cents on the game. Anyone else have it and have any thoughts on it?

I'd definitely recommend it. Sure, the levels are pretty easy, but they are fun and you will need to search them up and down for all the extra goodies. If you're looking for a good DS platformer, pick this one up.
