Fall Out Boy- Our Lawyers Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued

I've only recently started to get into their music but it's is continuously growing on me. I've tried to reject the recent wave of punk and emo bands as much as possible but I couldn't help having this band as a guilty pleasure. I even bought one of their T-shirts, and it's the first band T-shirt I've ever owned, so I have to start somewhere .

Pharrell f/ Gwen Stefani- Can I Have It Like That?

Off of his upcoming debut solo album, good to finally hear some solo stuff from this guy since he's usually producing or making guest spot's on other artists' songs. He's a pretty versatile guy and works with plenty of artists besides hip hop. Gwen Stefani's appearance on the track doesn't seem all that necessary since she has only one line in the chorus, but whatever.

SMWLL shouldn't be under complete hacks, I never finished it . That one is only a demo.

Awesome job with the female sprites once again! I especially love the new Koopa girl, she is sooo sexy . Yeah...seriously though, they are fantastically done. I can't wait to see what else you have in store for this hack.

Yummy!

A soft chocolate bar with smooth, creamy, delicious peanut butter inside. One of the best candy bars I've had in a long time, it is very tasty. Thirty seconds of pure heaven .

Really, a hack doesn't need to have GFX? Then what will you see, just a blank screen? Sounds awesome .

Meh...tonight's episode wasn't all that great. Ana-Lucia's flashback wasn't entirely interesting, it just revealed more of why she's a bitch. The rest of the episode just seemed to drag along with no advancement really. The reunion at the end was pretty nice I guess, Sun reuniting with Jin and Bernard with Rose. Next week's episode doesn't seem to be all that great either from what I saw in the preview, but we do get to see what crime Kate committed.

I guess the middle of the season slumps a bit, and will hopefully pick up as it moves along.

I hate to bring you down...but there have been so many SMB1 and SMB3 remake levels in SMW hacks, especially recently with all of peter_ac's remakes. Even if you include SMB3 gfx in the SMB1 remake levels, it will still be very unoriginal because peter_ac just finished a remake of SMB1 with SMB3 gfx (damn, some originality please ). Anyway, I think everyone needs a break from remakes. Just make your best and most creative levels for your special world, people will appreciate it more when you design your very own levels rather than make another overused remake. Good luck!

Yeah I know... I already know that they're used too much. That's why I was going to put them only in the special zone.

Well nonetheless, I'm just saying, it might not be worth it for players to go through the trouble of reaching the Special Zone just to play some remakes that they've seen a bunch of times. Just trust your own creativity to make some really cool levels for the Special Zones, just try to think a bunch of ideas for a theme for that world, you'll come up with something cool.

I am a sophomore in college and I am majoring in Game Design Development. Obviously, I aspire to be a game designer. I want to design classic adventure games similar to the era of LucasArts adventure games in the 90's. I have a part time job at Spencer Gifts . I thought it would be a cool job but it gets old like any other part time job. Before this I worked at a library putting books away , then before I had a seasonal job at Sam Goody, before that I worked at Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins which was pure hell , and my first job was a counselor at a playground.

All started when a friend from school showed me his graphing calculator that had a Mario editor on it. Since then I tried to find level editing tools of Mario games. I stumbled across an ezboard forum with some featured SMW hacks, one of which was none other than Strange Mario World by Acmlm. That lead me to Acmlm's domain, which I found this board from and saw all the people talking about SMW hacks, and thought, "Hey, that's cool!" And here I am today.

LucasArts? What kinds of games were those? I can't entirely remember... I remember the Star Wars games but that's about it.

It's always great to see more game designers around.

Yes, LucasArts has a bunch of Star Wars games, but during the 90's they had a series of clever, funny, and entertaining point and click adventures, which include the Monkey Island series, Sam and Max, and Maniac Mansion. I want to design these types of games because I really miss them .

Hmm...since I've only really played SMW and SMW2 hacks...

SMW
1. SDW:TLC by FuSoYa- The best complete SMW hack to date. The only chance I see of anyone beating this is BMF with SMO.
2. That leads us to...SMO by BMF- One of the only SMW hacks I'm really anticipating. All the ASM advancements in the past two demos have been incredible and I can't wait to see what BMF pulls off next.

SMW2
1. Yoshi's Island: Kamek's Revenge by SoNotNormal- Very well-designed levels in this hack, fun to play and a reasonable level of difficulty. Clever puzzles and level designs in each level.
2. Yoshi's Island Frozen Paradise: Only a four-level demo by Iggy Koopa but still fun. Also this was done a few years ago before the release of EggVine so he used a hex editor to make these levels, so that is pretty commendable.

Glad a few people said SMW2+, thanks .

Posted on 12-01-05 01:29 PM, in Good Levels Link
Well when I first starting out with SMW hacking I was making 3 levels a day sometimes. I basically wanted to go as fast as possible because I was so eager to release it, but that is a big mistake. There shouldn't be any rush to complete levels, hackers should spend as much time as possible working out all the details of the levels to make them as good as possible. As I moved along with hacking, most of the levels I made took me 3 days minimum, not just with SMW hacking but also YI hacking. I think with the ease of Lunar Magic hackers take advantage of the user-friendliness and mass produce levels without taking too much time to test out all the parts of a level.

So, in conclusion, take your time people, your levels will turn out much better .

Screen 1: Weird story . The gfx are nothing groundbreaking, but I guess they look alright.
Screen 2: Nothing impressive here as it uses the same skeleton as the original Yoshi's Island.
Screen 3: Very plain OW, just one straight strip of land. Plus, the little bit of land at the top of the screen to the right does not have a proper edge and water shadow.
Screen 4: Horrible BG colors, do you not realize they look so bad? Don't jam in so many random colors into the BG hills, try and use different shades of similar colors. Also, Mario's palettes look a bit off. There's a bit of pink on the edge of his hat and on his sleeve that doesn't fit in.
Screen 5: Nothing really exciting here, BG is a bit too bright.
Screen 6: The BG here can look alright if you stick to the different shades of orange and eliminate the green and black which completely clash. Other than that it doesn't look exciting at all, I've seen the "Invincible-Mario-Over-Munchers" done in a handful of hacks before this one.
Screen 7: Pretty much the same as 5.
Screen 8: Again, why so many clashing colors? Try to avoid this.
Screen 9: Finally, a decent BG. But again, it's a SMAS BG, so nothing ground-breaking. Looks pretty boring too with one enemy.
Screen 10: Whoa, small Mario looks terrible here. What's up with the pink outline around him. Also, the BG contrast is a bit too much, try using a slightly smaller gradient.
Screen 11: Decent yet overused BG, and looks completely boring with one flat bridge and one small fish.
Screen 12: Well, no complaints here, not that this one looks that great, I've just stated all these things already.

Basically, your biggest problem appears to be palettes. Make sure you straighten those out to give your hack a better appearance. Also, a lot of your screens look very lacking, whether it be enemies or variety of objects. This hack appears to need some improvement.

Not that it was a bad hack, he did a fine job with gfx, palettes, and OW, it's just that when you compare a remake to the clever and astounding level designs and ASM enhancements of DW:TLC it clearly blows it out of the water.

Anyway, I have to say DW:TLC as well. The only chance I see of someone beating that is SMO by BMF.
