Well then if the gunpower is a concern then there is a solution to everything, (keeping in mind that Tanks is only doing a graphics hack.)

The solution to the ducking, the jumping and everything is to not use a warthog at all, but to make the vehicle a ghost.

While standing the ghost floats in midscreen moving around firing out the nose.
While ducking the ghost lands on the ground and still fires out of the nose.
And while jumping the ghost throws on boosters launching it in the air.

but who wants a stinking ghost when you could have a warthog.

hey I like those graphics, I'm still finding new things with this game everyday.
I'll share with you some hex value positions that will help you, and lift some restrictions (such as pallete sharing and the mirrored ladder)

28FC - this is where the graphic adresses and pallete values are for most of the items.

Let me know if you need help with other things you have idea's with.

Okay I havn't released an update on this for several months so here it is.
This is a DEMO release that will show you some of my discoveries in ASM hacking.
Things to look for:
New Music (in progress),
New Jumping Physics (these are them, get used to 'em),
New Levels (only 7 in the DEMO),
New Pie Level (in progress),
4 Alternating Palettes (blocks, beams, ladders, and items)
New Baddie GFX and behavior (still in progress)
New Graphics and Animations.

I've discovered most of what I needed in the coding to finish the game.
I'm starting on the creative process (ending sequence and level finish seq.)

If you have any ideas, suggestions, or questions comment on this thread.

AND FINALY THE WORKING .IPS PATCH (patch to Nuts & Milk (J).nes)

Well the reason the nudity is there is because of my palette limitation. All the colors there have to match Donkey Kongs colors, so that was my way around that issue.

I'm also putting this out there to see how that would be accepted by this community, because I may not keep it in the final version. Area Under Construction.

What do other people think?

I think it only unveils suggestive things that appear in the original donkey kong, such as kidnapping the girlfriend, and finding her clothes scattered everywhere (purse, hat, umbrella)
As well as paying homage to the original King Kong, in which he disrobes the damsel.

Thanks for your comments, and also giving it some test runs before I released the demo. The final product will have much more done in the ways of sound, graphics, and story line. Also a ton more levels and.. who knows ..I find new code all the time.

Okay 1 vote from Dwedit to add glowing monkey tentacles :> you do make a good point. I might decide to make it very extreme and have 2 patches, the tamed and the uncensored, that would give me free reign to explore absolute obsurdity. I will have to make the decision against having only 1 subtle nudity hack first.

Thank you, I have fixed a lot of glitches in the way of jumping that existed in N&M, and the purpose of the the "no jumping up onto ladders" trait is so I can make more complicated levels, and to seperate it from N&M. I did not have EASY in mind when making this hack so use this as practice because the future levels will be much harder.

people who follow this forum a lot and have read about rom hacking have a completely different perspective on you question. What your asking for is very involved and could not possibly be answered in this thread, "How can I make this?" would be a very long .text document. You wear your ignorance on your sleave.

I suggest starting from the bottom, take sonic the hedgehog and play around with altering the hex code of the game, see if you can make changes. Research faqs. and other documents others may have written. Once you've done all that learn how to expand a rom and work with pointers. Have a basic understanding of computer language and then come back with less NOOBish questions.

We were all there at one point.

He can only jump that high without going on the ladders, one more pixel and you can grab them. Also I need these jumping physics for several other jumps, and so you don't hit your head trying to step down in level 7. With enough practice you'll find it easy, just run to the edge when you jump and everything will work out.

Speaking of arcade graphics I have a surprise.

2 days after releasing the Demo I found the code I needed to complete the pie level. Now I can have the Arcade Donkey Kong Pies in the level, and the get baked as they go through the flames. I also changed all the time to DK time (5000 per level).

Apply this Update to your "Donkey Kong 2 Demo" ROM. (not N&M)



This will be the last update before the next release.

Hmmm, well with that info I may consider making this a prequel starring Luigi. I'd have to give it some consideration, because that would change the Pie Pallete (but that is all). It would also go with the pattern of having a different character for each donkey kong game, (Mario, Dk Jr, and Stanley.... and now Luigi?). I was planning on having them "Getting it on" for the final end game screen shot anyways


-EDIT- woops, I just realized that would make Pauline Luigi's daughter. That would be very wrong. Maybe I would introduce Pauline's Mother into the game if I were to go that route.

Question: If she's Mario's neice, what is with all the hearts when they get together. What's Mario up to, is Saturday Supercade reliable?

I'd like to continue posting on this forum, I have a lot of work ahead of me and I'd like to keep people updated. So far my releases have been exlusive to this forum and this is where I started most of my experience. I've also given a lot of creative ideas to people on the board and have had a creative impact on others and their hacks.

Also I am the first to have created complete documentation on Nuts and Milk hacking, a game which I completely hacked(wthout any ASM knowledge) using fceuxsp's hex program, manuel binary searches, and eyeing out patterns within the hex values to understand 6502s operations effecting the games physics, sound, and pointers. A document which I was planning on releasing here.

Well if I may give my 2 cents.

1: your spelling is awful. I would recommend running everything you typed into a spell check and re-edit your post.

2: Personally modders have ruined halo for me (namely halo 2) and I have a very low tolerance for them. This is a forum that expands the enjoyment of video-games for the whole community, not a forum for online exploits that ruins it for everyone.

(You may or may not be an on-line halo-modder, but I can't help the association, sorry if I am mistaken)
