This one is fine, the other one was a mistake.
I'll take any questions or comments in this thread. I also didnt know how to add anotehr attatchment in the old thread. I still need help editing the levels. I can change the level one data and "current" level data in the NES memory but as son as it refreshes, it disappears. $C0A7:9D 00 05 STA $0500,X @ $0560 = #$01 $C0AA:E8 INX $C0AB0 F7 BNE $C0A4 $C0AD:4C AB C1 JMP $C1AB this is the code when the game first starts, it is putting the value #$01 (bridge block) into the address $0560 (upper left corner space) does anybody have any an idea how to change the 01 (edited by ImInvisible on 04-22-06 09:33 PM) |

Originally posted by UZI in my pocket absolutely, hey! if I ever get the level editing to work, I'll have to add that one. In fact, there are 50 levels. Anybody who posts a pic like this, I'll add their level to the "Custom Level Edition". |

I could probably look at it and build it myself really quick from the picture you posted

Okay everyone, I found the data that allows me to edit my own boards. So now would be the time to submit a picture of your own creations, if you want me to place one of your levels in the "Custom Level Edition". |

Originally posted by Stifu Yes I can agree with that, Kid Kool is one of the most frustrating and stupid games I ever played. The way you can't accellerate, the way those stupid hidden items bounce you back to the ground during important jumps, it's awful. But it does have some interesting qualities that I'll focus on more (ex. skipping on water, hidden items, those vaulting blocks). I figure if I am able to edit the levels, this game could be very fun, and fast, in a Sonic the Hedgehog kind of way. But who knows if this will be realized. I am still currently working on Donkey Kong 2. I have about 12 levels programmed, and I am working on changing the music too.... plus some other surprises. |

Ive decided to edit out my rebuttal because I realize I am one of the few adults here on this forum, and I should act it. I'm here to advance my rom hacking knowledge and to share some of the things I've created since starting this hooby, not to argue with little children. I won't perpetuate this arguement anymore as I believe it is clear to the thousands of viewers who the asshole is.
now lets continue creating and sharing in a productive and positve way. edit: sorry if I offended anybody with the children comment as metal knuckles kindly pointed out to me on an instant message, I'm only refering to the people actually saying they want to "fucking stab me" which I thought deserved an equally vulgar response. As for all the other sig comments I found them to be funny, that thing IS truley an eyesore. As you may have guessed I can get pretty defensive. If I am the asshole, I will try to be a reasonable asshole. Thats pretty wild, I didn't know there was a color emphasis value in the games. If I were to take this project on without that knowledge, I would have probably changed each individual pallette to a shade of "gameboy green" to resemble playing on an actual gameboy, this idea is getting more interesting I must say.

See this is a good example of a Number 9, used for this PocketNes splashscreen.

I have had no desire to play any castlevania hacks until this one. Graphics go a long way.
Also, out of curiosity.... is there a Hack you layout is based on? |

I was enjoying this for a while until I got trapped, apparently on some levels you can fall through the floor, and get transported to the top of the screen. Well in the "Super Mario 2" type level, I jumped up to high (over the ceiling) and got trapped in the floor below, with no escape, I couldn't even see Samus to know where I was. Did you add some sort of code that allows you to walk off the edge onto the other side of the screen? cause I dont remember that in Metroid.
The game is beautiful. But be warned. Use save states repeatedly. |

Okay, if you Jump up ontop of this column....You fall down here....And if you move.......you keep falling
