| Yes. Kyouji's method seems to be appropriate in this case.
I would like to emphasize the "flaming" part. The rules should have an exception for this forum (and possibly ROM hacking as well). If we are allowed to openly flame the idiots who come here asking "i cna't do exgfx, plz help?" or "Do my ASM hack for me", they'll leave on their own and never come back. And if they come back, by all means, drop the banvil. |

The first one was done using an awesome Phong tutorial on how to make cool dotted backgrounds using a few alpha's, patterns, and a bit of Gaussian blur.
Here's another completely custom one I whipped up, called Classified. I wanted to go for a sort of grayish, no-frills look. 
Yes, I still use IE. So sue me

| Boom and Bio, the problem here is that we're receiving more and more bad "students" who can't be even bothered to use proper English. They expect us to basically just do their entire hack for them while they sit back and relax.
Meanwhile, the good hackers who do learn stuff for themselves start to get annoyed of answering the same questions over and over again, especially if they are already answered in the sticky. So they politely tell the n00bs to go read the sticky. Guess what? They didn't. So eventually our patience begins to wear thin, and we start snapping and flaming at n00bs hoping that they'll either shape up or go home. Since most of them don't, they end up getting banned. Look at the first page. Out of 46 non-sticky threads, 4 of them are about hacks. 4 are title screen and end credits editing questions. 5 are overworld questions. 5 are ExGFX questions. 4 are questions that actually may prove to be of some use. 18 are miscellaneous generic SMW questions. 3 are questions that have to do with the forum itself. The remaining three have become flame-holes. So that leaves us with a grand total of 38 threads that have little significance to the majority of the SMW hacking community, while the remaining eight stand out among the crowd. This says a lot about what this forum has become. I hope that, by the end of this post, we can all agree that we need to take more drastic measures against the wannabe n00b hackers who can't at least try to do shit for themselves. |
