I support the new rules for one reason and one reason only: Legoman. I am tired of him posting about the 50 different hacks he has going on. Not only do his hacks look and play like crap, but apparently he is unable to grasp even the simplest concepts of SMW hacking. It's people like him who threw the old forum down the crapper. Let us hope for a brighter future, one where there aren't any n00bish questions, eye-gouging palettes, awful level design, and stupid "OMFG hElp me wit teh exgfx" threads. |

Plus, after seeing some of the recent great hacks out there (Bowser's Return, Panic in the MK, Odyssey, et al), it's no doubt the expectations for new hacks begian rising. Back from the shadows
I've had Game Maker 6.1 for a while, but I've never done anything serious with it... until now. I recently toyed with the idea of making a game involoving all the personalities on this board and all the other major AcmlmBoards (Ice Board, Romendo, DSM, etc.) While this concept has probably been overdone already, I plan on actually FINISHING it, to make it stand out over the rest. As for the plot, I don't have anything concrete yet, but here's a preliminary rundown: The game begins to take place before Xkeeper's takeover (November 2005). You'll control Acmlm in the prologue, where he gets captured by Xk and all sorts of bad stuff happens to him. The main story begins at the exact moment of the board's deletion, where you must escape from Acmlm's Board. You get caught in the explosion, get knocked out, wake up someplace else, yadda yadda, and then some other stuff happens until retard's hacking, where you'll have to choose sides: either joining Kei and helping to overthrow Xkeeper, or help Xk gain dominance over the remaining AcmlmBoards. Which means that the game will have two different endings. Playable characters: To be decided. If anyone wants in, make a sprite sheet of yourself or PM me with a link to the sprites you want to use. Extension: ~10 chapters, each with several stages. The game will span Acmlm's, Ice Board, Romendo, DS Universal, the three RO's (Twilight, Starlight, and Moonlit), and some other places I haven't decided yet. Now then, I can't do this alone, because I'll have my hands full with level designing and my drawing skills suck bad 
I'll need: -A spriter (can be more than one) -A good composer, someone who can convert mp3's to midi's just in case. -A graphics artist (someone who can draw neat backgrounds and foreground tiles) -An assistant level designer -Someone who can make good cutscenes -A scripter (For stuff I can't code myself) If anyone likes the idea and is willing to help, PM me and I'll give you all the details  |

| Go to PHPMyAdmin (you DO have that, right?) and dump the SQL file included with the board. Select the 'forums' table and click the "Insert" tab near the top. Fill in the requested fields, click Continue, and voila. You should have your first forum. | |||

I have white skin (not pale white, just regular white.) and am therefore very susceptible to sunburns. Last time I got burned, around July 2002, I was on the beach. Using SPF 45 sunblock, I just decided to lie on one of them floaty mattresses for about three hours. My whole body was lobster red and my skin was so sensitive I couldn't even sleep normally, I had to lie down sideways. It was horrible, I was shedding for two months. Two months, dammit! I've never gone to the beach since. |
