| I'm not suggesting you change anything, if you are happy the way you are then there is no reason to change anything.
When i mentioned your upbringing i was referring to when you said it made you feel sinful and gulty when you masterabted, which is a religious viewpoint, and people generally are brought up into a religion. But now that you mention your childhood and explain more i'm now convinced its your childhood which is why you are uncomfortable with sexuality. I'm not a psychologist (though at one time i was a college student majoring in psychology), but most psychologists are going to see a grown heterosexual man finding naked women unattractive as abnormal, and when you tell them there was sexual abuse in your past they with go "ah em" and write something down in their little notebook. Most people who have been abused go one of 2 routes... they either become hyper-sexualized, or they develop an aversion to all things sexual. They'd say you took the latter route. Though there is a mental addiction to something like smoking, the physical addiction is by far the harder thing to break, because it literally alters your brain chemistry. Compare the rates of people being able to quit cracking knuckles or chewing nails to quitting smoking. a burka is that thing the women in the middle east sometimes wear that looks like a bee-keepers outfit. | I own the entire series of Blue Submarine. Its very short for a series. I thought it was alright, but far from essential. I think it's too short for its own good, there isn't enough time for the characters to really get developed, and the ending comes kinda suddenly and is predictable (in my opinion anyway). The art was very good though. | |||

| At its heart this issue comes down to personal choice, saying that because you are against it, no one else should be allowed to enjoy it is kinda fascist. For every divorce it causes due to one partner being an ass about it, there are likely at least as many which are saved when one partner simply masterbates instead of cheating for real. | Machines are getting more and more advanced. There will almost certainly come a time when they replace humans in virtually all low paying jobs. There are not enough high paying jobs for most people to work in them. So what becomes of the great mass of unemployed then? Under capitalism since the rich own the machinery they continue to get richer while the poor now have no job at all and no prospects. Under socialism we'd all live the high life on the backs of the machinery. Not that i completely agree with socialism, but i dont think its any more flawed than capitalism. When you are the one with the wealth already established and good prospects, then capitalism sounds wonderful. But what if it was your job that was being phased out, and you were born poor? Socialism sounds pretty nice then. Capitalism as it is now greatly favors people who already have some wealth to begin with, to build upon. if you already have some money you can afford to go to school or to make investments and further your income. If you come from poverty though, you have considerably less options. Therefore capitalism is an unfair system. Maybe if people were all given the same starting point in life then it would be fair, unless you were born handi-capped, then you'd be screwed. | |||

No, today not everyone would live great under socialism, i'm not talking about today on that (no shit sherlock), i'm talking about that inevitable day on the horizon when machines actually do replace man for all menial tasks and low paying jobs. In a time when man does'nt actually have to work to survive (the machines doing most of the work), socialism could be a paradise. How can something be not equal but somehow fair? Everyone does not have an equal chance. No matter how often i lift weight i'm never going to look like Arnould in his weight lifting days. No matter how much i study i'll never be einstein. No matter what i do to improve my appearance i'm simply never going to be a model. Its just not in the genes. Its a great lie to tell people they can be whatever they want if they just try hard enough. The cold reality is that people are simply not born equal. I know a guy who was born with a learning disability because his mother was on drugs when she was pregnant. That guy has a 0% chance of getting a degree at any serious university. How is this fair to him? Had he been born rich he'd probably just have a trust fund and not have to compete, how is that fair? |

I cant really identify with that though, because for me, no matter how wonderful a guy is, or great we get along, it can never be more than as friends. Because we would have no sex life at all, as i cant get turned on by a penis. I need a vagina (i can do without boobs though, dont give a damn about them). See i was born without one and so i need to borrow some woman's from time to time! They are such fun! Also i want to have kids someday and a man cant make them for me.

| Free speech should be absolute in all cases. If the ideas are wrong and cant be supported by fact then they will die on their own (assuming the population is reasonably educated). When we begin to limit free speech we set a very dangerous precedent, far more dangerous than anyone denying the holocast or other dumb ideas they may come up with. Next thing you know Bush may deny you the right to criticize him, because it could cause unrest.
As for sending people to prison for simple ideas, i seem to remember a young man who got sent to prison a long time ago. He wrote a book about his ideas in there. I think he called it Meine Kampf. |
