| North Korea have been threatening nuclear weapons for awhile now, are an extremely anti-freedom regime, hate the US, etc. Yet we do nothing. Iraq was minding it's own business at the moment, Saddam was co-operating for the most part (i remember seeing them dismantling missiles over there a month or so before our invasion), and we came down hard on them. It makes no sense to me. I'm not advocating we attack North Korea, but they clearly seemed like a bigger threat than Iraq from day 1. | |||

| Grey - I put "origional sin" into google and read through a bunch of the results. Also i looked up St Augustine in the encyclopedia we have in our attic. The whole sex= sin thing is very much a part of the Christianity around where i live. So i was surprised to discover its not something that came from christ himself or even his time period, it was a few hundred years later that that was decided. | |||

| Isn't the commandment "thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife"? That sounds more like "dont lust after someone else's woman". If it was no sex till marriage, would'nt the commandment be more like "though shall not covet any other than they wife"? | |||

| Because most people fear things they dont understand and feel threatened by people/things which are different than themselves. This is why tolerance for other cultures/beliefs/etc. tends to go up as education level goes up, as things get better understood by someone, the less bothered they will be by it, generally speaking. Sometimes its because the person in question has deep rooted problems on whatever the subject is (for example, an alarming number of gay-bashers are actually homosexuals themselves only in denial, to cover it up they lash out at the ones who are openly homosexual.) | |||

| Does it really matter? Admittedly its absurd that anyone gives a damn about nudity, but what does it really mean for it to be an m? If i had kids i'd still let them play it. Its immature to care about nudity. We've all seen it before, it's all natural. It's not going to hurt anyone. Thexare got it right, the violence is much more important. Would you rather your kids emulate a video-game and go murder, or emulate a video-game and become a nudist? | |||

would'nt that violate the "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" rule? I'm just curious, but where does it say that sex of any sort outside of marriage is not allowed? I'm not saying its not there, i'm just curious about it. I've seen all kinds of things about adultery and seen that used as justification for an absolutely no sex what-so-ever outside marriage attitude. To me though, it's not adultery if no participant is married. I completely agree with the no adultery rule, thats words to live by. Another question. What is the justification for the no adultery rule in the 1st place? Its obviously not love, because back then that was not a reason to get married. Must have something to do with property rights. |

I was'nt being an asshole to him, i was being 100% upfront and truthful. I meant everything i said. Attacking my credentials is childish. I went to a good school and was origionally a psychology major. I was near the top of my class when i switched majors. The man in question clearly is having a hard time with the opposite sex. Its obvious to me he needs a break from trying to impress girls and getting used by them. I think he is doing the right thing. | 23 friends is way more than i ever had at any single moment in time.
My advice would be to not take any shit. Simply dont put up with it. Dont allow people to treat you poorly, stand up for yourself. Anyone who is treating you like shit is not your friend anyway, so why try to kiss up to them and be nice? Put them in their place just once and you'll at least get respect if not friendship, and probably wont be treated that way again. But really, you got 23 friends! Thats more than anyone really needs anyway. |

| The word perverted means very diffferent things to different people. Do you mean basic hetero thoughts towards wanting some sex, or do you mean the strange stuff (sado-masochism, bestiality, necrophilia, pedophilia, incest, etc.)
It makes a big difference to me and to most people wanting to give you advice what you mean by perverse. If you are'nt talking about something strange than i'd say you are a man, most likely what you are experiencing is normal so long as you are'nt so horny as to try to rape someone. If you are talking about something abnormal, then it comes down to just how far you're thinking about taking it, and how intrusive the thoughts are on your life. |

| Why should the US government get involved with TPB anyway? The music companies will just have to learn that a CD is not worth $20+. They do not deserve million dollar bank accounts for little actual work while people do actual back-breaking labor for peanuts. I would download any album on a major label and not feel the slightest bit of guilt. (on the other hand i buy every single album i want to listen to from independant labels). The "solution" to this problem is not causing international incidents, it is selling media at a reasonable price. | |||

| Major label contracts vary, but in most cases you are not harming the artist. Major labels typically pay money up front then not ever again to the artist (unless artist in question is already established and has serious leverage at the deal negotiating table). Also, most artists who are not already millionaires make most of their money by touring. If you have downloaded something, loved it, then went and saw them live, you have helped that artist much more than buying their album would have. How many times have you seen an interview with an artist and they say they dont care if you download their music? I've seen that many times. I've read an awful lot of horror stories involving artists being royally screwed by unfair contracts the big companies trick them or coerce them into. Maybe its time to do something about it and get rid of the whole major label system. Its corrupt, not working, and pathetic. With the internet, maybe we'll move on to a more direct artist to fan relationship where prices are much lower for us, yet the artist gets more money to because it goes directly to them. | When i was a kid i loved Metallica, but even then i did'nt consider them the best metal band. I've always felt that the Megadeth album "Killing Is My Business" was much better than any of Metallica's albums. Nowadays I dont care for anything Metallica has done starting with the black album. And their stuff before that, although it's not bad and is occasionally really cool, is blown away by so many other metal albums. For me the greatest metal albums are Iron Maiden's 1st 2 albums, and Mercyful Fate "Dont Break the Oath". |
