| There was a silence for a few seconds.
Luke: "Well Maya, I assume you have a place to stay?" Maya sighed, the absolutely worst thing about Luke was living with him. He didn't make a mess, he did everything he was told, and all he would do is tune his guitar and play silent songs. It was like living with a ghost. He would zone out for several hours at a time and wouldn't say anything. This drove Maya nuts. They had been together for a while, but they had hardly ever kissed or done anything. Maya knew that Luke had feelings for her, why else would he be here, and Maya was devoted to Luke. Maya devotion was no sign of weakness though. Luke had saved her once. When they were both younger and Maya was nothing more than a mana-battery. A slave to barbarians. He was so innocent back then and Maya truly believed that he was the same little boy. He might have been shown the horrors of people and what they do, but she didn't think he really knew all there was to know... or maybe it was the thought of kids that drove Luke away from his physical side. There was so many unanswered questions about Luke, that Maya wasn't sure if he was even capable of having kids, or if his kid would inherit any of his powers. Taking a look at her own opinion on the subject though, Maya wasn't quite sure she wanted to have kids, it would be a responsibility she would rather not have to face. Luke: "Maya, you all right?" Maya: "Oh, oh sorry. I just kind of got lost in my own thoughts... Yeah, I have a house, but well... you're going to make fun of me." Luke: "You must have been deep in thought, I thought I saw a familiar face, I'm going to go check it out and I'll meet you at your house later." Maya: "Are you sure it's safe?" Luke: "You aren't affected by fate as it is and you can handle yourself. This is important though." (edited by Sinfjotle on 02-02-07 05:03 PM) |

| Hector: "Dammit Mel!"
Hector was locked in this same battle again. How many times had it been in these long, painful, two years? How many times would Mel have to relive that moment in her past? How long would he remember that he was only a minute to late... Mel: "I-I-I can't!!! I told you!" Mel was only fifteen. When she was thirteen she watched a man who looked just like her father kill her mother, Nino. Nino had stepped in front of Mel to protect her from the man's sword. His face was harsh, his eyes were cold, and his blade was warm with blood... her mom's blood. Nino's blood had splashed onto Mel, and in disbelief she watched as the man didn't pull the sword out of her mom's chest, but rather ripped it out sideways, splitting her body almost in half. The blood, Mel remembered the blood so clearly. If she saw any blood she became nervous and unsure of herself, she started to relive that moment in her life. When blood made contact with her she was likely to pass out, her mind screaming at her to get away... luckily the man who looked like her father was to much of a berserker to realize that. Hector: "Mel, we can stop him if you would only act!" Mel saw the hope on Hector's face. He had been such a caring person since her mother passed away, he tried his hardest to keep her safe from the constant threat. He let her rest from being hunted down. She would have to disappoint him again as she turned he back and ran. Hector was used to this by now, and he couldn't blame her. She was too young to go through this kind of tragedy. Everyone was too young to go through this. His elegant sword was all that stopped this mad man from catching her. The enchantment on his very life was matching the brute's tremendous power unconsciously. To give exactly what was thrown at him. He thought it would always work, but this man had shown something he couldn't mirror. A desire that was simply overwhelming. It usually took a while, but it came suddenly this time. Hector felt himself get pushed back, and then it was over. The man took a step forward and broke their clash, sending Hector sprawling. The man took off like a bolt of lightning after Mel. Hector: "Damn..." Hector held up a treasure that had come from this planet, a talisman. Focusing on it, he thought of a safe place, and as the man bore down on Mel, she vanished, leaving the man clueless. Mel felt her body move through space rapidly and her vision suddenly changed from the slums of a broken city to a beautiful garden. Women of all different ages were staring at her. She had no idea how she got here. ???: "...who are you?" Mel didn't know exactly how to answer that question. Especially since the person asking it looked no older than twelve. The young girl's clothes seemed very odd to Mel. As if they were made of some sort of fabric she'd never heard of. They were very colorful and bright, as Mel looked around she noticed all of them had similar clothes with different designs. Mel: "I'm... not really much of anyone..." Many of the women exchanged nervous glances, some of the younger ones stared in awe. Mel's Thoughts: "What are they staring at and where am I? I don't think I died..." 12 year old: "You... are from the surface?" Mel: "The surface?" The twelve year old grabbed Mel's hand and led her on a short walk to what Mel thought was an edge of a cliff. As Mel looked down though, she saw that she was very high up in the air, even higher than the clouds. Mel: "Yes, I guess you could say that." Suddenly a loud voice rang in Mel's ears, it sounded like the voice of an angry mother scolding one of her children. Voice: "Who is using so much magic on the week when you're supposed to give it up!?" Mel turned around to see a woman with stark white frizzy hair, but a face and a body of someone who wasn't a day over thirty. The woman seemed to approach like she was going to kill someone, but she stopped before she reached Mel. The group of young women and girls that had "greeted" Mel crowded behind her, whispering to themselves. Woman: "I see..." The woman paused and calmed down. Woman: "Lily, come over here." Apparently the twelve year old looking girl that had shown me that I wasn't on the ground anymore was named Lily. She looked at me with big green eyes and hurried over to the woman. Woman: "Do you know where you are?" All Mel could do was shake her head. Her unwashed, uncombed, and uncut hair showed just how clomped it was. For the first time in a long time, Mel realized just how bad she must have looked... and smelled. Woman: "You're on one of the floating islands. This is Sarcenet, the second largest island." Mel: "I..." Mel didn't know what to say. She felt so tired, but she also felt safe. Woman: "My name is Dama Scenis, I am... or rather was... the most powerful magic wielding person on any of the islands." Dama paused for a few seconds, she seemed rather confused herself. Dama Scenis: "You look tired... actually you look tired, hungry, in need of a bath, and in need of new clothes. I'll help you get a good rest before I ask too much of you, please come along." Dama held out a hand towards Mel. Mel really was beyond thinking at this point and walked over and grabbed her hand. Dama pulled her closer and began to talk about the islands and their purposes, but Mel was just too tired to listen. On the ground, Hector was staring down the twisted version of Star that had wrecked havoc on the two for so long. This was hopeless, neither of them would ever win such a fight. The behemoth of a man didn't seem to think though as he rushed at Hector. (edited by Sinfjotle on 02-09-07 01:15 AM) (edited by Sinfjotle on 02-17-07 11:16 PM) |

| Mel: "I'm going to show you something."
Mel closed her eyes for just a second and activated her dormant flow of magical energy. She controlled every point of it just a second ago, and didn't like to let even a sliver out. Her dormant state where energy flowed freely was like a wave that washed over the ground near her. Bringing the grass to a life it had never experienced. |

| If you cared to read the link...
1) She didn't say she was raped, her mother did. 2) The rape charges were dropped. 3) The entire point is that an archaic law that made oral sex a felony when normal sex was not a felony was over turned, but not made retroactive. If he had normal sex, he wouldn't have gotten a jail term at all. |

| Most of you are wimps.
If you can touch your own eye you can put eye drops in your eye. It isn't hard. I don't have to use them, but it requires the effort of not blinking for ten whole seconds. Wimps. |

| Doe changed direction, seeing the projectile was meant to obstruct his/her path and force him/her to waste time. This wasn't the case as Doe shot the projectile, reloaded and charged down the stadium stairs, on a b-line towards William. A familiar raising of the arm and pulling of the finger shot another bullet at William, for a second Doe reminisce about the details of why they were fighting.
William didn't know anything, but this was a sort of welcome back planned and executed by an old source. Doe could only guess it was for nostalgic purposes as the fight served no one. The client had commanded Doe to only make William submit or run when the fight looked bleak and a killing would be branded with murder. Such an odd circumstance for such a fight, but all that mattered to Doe was the high reward for this job. Quickly refocusing on the fight, Doe changed the gun as he/she got in close range, taking the rifle barrel off, Doe replaced it with another, wider, barrel and loaded a bigger bullet into the chamber. |

| Maya: "So Delia, I think you should come with me for a while, just in case."
Maya tried her hardest to be sincere and to hide the truth. The conflicting emotions in her voice would trigger off anyone that was paying attention, but Delia was hopefully still shell shocked from the events. Maya: "Really, you don't want to put yourself in harms way." Luke walked away from Maya and Delia, noticing a very familiar face on the other side of the street. If his eyes didn't deceive him, it might help him track down that bastard Lexuk. When he was out of sight of Delia and Maya, he broke out of his walk into a dead sprint. Thoughts swirled in his head as the bard recalled the face. It was Nijote, it had to be Nijote, the same eyes and smile. Luke saw her, her long bla--woah, wait a minute. Her hair wasn't black anymore, it was... blond? What? Luke stopped short as the woman he thought was Nijote turned around. It was Nijote, but she looked different now. There was no corruption around her or blood on her hands, was this just a look-alike? Luke examined the threads of fate around her, it was Nijote, no doubt. Luke: "What are you doing here?" Nijote's nobody just looked at Luke. Luke: "Rather, what is your name?" Pastless: "Pastless." It was Nijote's Nobody, what next? |
