My mom doesn't have depression. She's been to enough psychologists and psychiatrists over the years.

I'm going to sleep on it and let life see what happens, if she isn't back by the morning I'll call the cops and tell them to be on the look out. Think it's time to move to my dads though, something I probably should've done a year ago.

...

Wow.

I'm really glad I wasn't using the internet much for forums in 2001. I was bad as a 14 year old... I don't want to think of what I would've been like three years earlier...

Pretty funny, actually made me want to pick it up again as if it were a console game, but I'm not paying $15 a month for that boring ass game.

"What is highlighted is what I take maybe you should read about these medications and it will help you understand why sometimes I look and feel like shit. Sorry I suck. Mom"
"By the way, why is it okay for you to be up all night and for you to wear wrinkled clothes, not comb your hair, you think you don't embarass me?"

She takes OxCotin, Valium and...Phenylephrine/Guaifenesin.

She's been taking these for years, but now she's trying to blame her problems on medication? She's now afraid of my step-father, who won't hurt her , and she's going to call the cops to make sure they're here when he gets home.

Time to move to dad's!

Done and done.

Like most sane people, I don't stick to either thing and it all boils down to what issue.

1. Are you for same-sex marraiges?

Don't care. Marriage isn't religious, it's a government thing, not giving gay people the right to marriage but to civil unions is what we call "seperate but equal", and that really worked about fifty years ago, didn't it?

2. Do you think it's wrong for the word "Jesus" to be used in public?(i. e. on billboards and such?)

I'm an athiest and I don't give a damn. If you want to belittle your savior, go right ahead.

3. Is abortion plain wrong or is it justified?

Killing someone is never justified, but the thing is, it isn't someone by my standards until it could possibly live on it's own. So like, before 6 months? Don't care, after 6 months? Well... It really depends.

4. Are you for the war or hate it?

It's all just a time sink in the end. If they'd told us what we were really doing there, then I wouldn't have minded, but they lied and kept lying about it.

5. Should the government raise taxes to go to the poor and such, or should we be entitled to more of it ourselves?

With the current system of government, giving more money to anything is a waste of time. Donating to chairty groups who specialize is far more effective.

If I had to lean... I'd be mainly libertarian, with some conservative ideas and some liberal ideas. If you remember the "Political Compass" thread from a while ago, it explains things much better than the original poster.

Alizabe was still in a deep slumber.

Dracoon on the other hand was at their house, preparing the forge. Alizabe would get to make her new weapon tomorrow, but the forge would have to be super heated to work with the special item he managed to get from the dragon.

Guys, Silvershield especially, you need to study up on marriage before you try and talk about it. Marriage was strictly civil until the 5th century (AD). If anything, the religious part of the marriage should have it's name changed, not the legal part.

So when you change it, it's fine, but if we want to change it, it isn't fine? That's really what I'm getting from you.

Marriage has always existed in a secular sense, always, this isn't a change to a religion, this is a change of the state. Get over yourself?

If you just want to play "Devil's Advocate" and you dont' care about the issue, you should have no problem just stopping or saying your position was wrong.

Same-sex marriage isn't even a new thing. There is pleanty of history about homosexual unions. Asia, early Europe, hell even the Native Americans did it. Why did we take a step back for? The spread of Christianity. A religion. Something that shouldn't matter to our country. A nice little wikipedia article that took me all of three seconds to bring up has some nice answers.

The point of devil's advocate? Most people who've done it to me just use questions and don't try to prove a point.

Any number of things that were "ok" ten or a hundred or a thousand years ago are disputed in 2006. Something existing in ancient times simply means that it existed alongside practices such as ritual sacrifice (in some cultures), pedophilia (in some cultures), extreme racism (in some cultures), gender inequality (in most cultures), etc - you're making it sound like the ancients really knew what they were doing, and that they "had it all right" with homosexual relationships even though their cultures and values were clearly flawed. That is to say, none of those aforementioned tenets are at all defensible, and they demonstrate that those cultures which practiced them were imperfect; however you argue as if the precedent of homosexuality in years past somehow "proves" that it's alright.

I absolutely love the irony. I mean, I started laughing at the irony.

This is almost exactly what the other side uses. They say man and woman marriage is the precedent and we shouldn't change tradition. Obviously it isn't a strict tradition though as there is a historic precedent. If you use this argument, you can't say marriage is traditionally a man and a woman.

You do bring up a good point though, ancient cultures didn't have it all right and I didn't mean to come off that way, I was just trying to show that marriage hasn't always been a man and a woman, and that cultures did practice same-sex marriages.

Now a good question is, since Native Americans believed in a tradition that is essientially marriage, couldn't they bring out the race card and say that the government is refusing to allow them to follow their culture?

In absolutely all fairness, Silveshield was only presenting an argument and said that he really didn't care either way. He was playing the "Devil's Advocate" role and then you made it personal.

Shen raised a portal in front of everyone.

Shen: "Why have you never tried to use Origin's power?

Ark stepped through the portal, deciding it was best if he went first. Luke, not wanting to look bad, ran in right after him.

Ark stepped out over looking a town, it was probably the only place in the world that still had power. Street lights lit up the town and one building in particular was fully lit...

Doe enjoyed his/her drink peacefully at the bar, not at all disturbed by the people around him/her. Doe took a sip of the vodka, and heard the door slam open. Was it time again already?

Doe: "This is the fourth time isn't it?"

The man took a step back as Doe took a gun from under his/her coat and shot the man. He was hit through the shoulder and all he did was turn around and leave.

Doe: "Why does he bother..."
