The purple lightning just flew through the trees, completely missing it's target. Nijote had been moving while attacking, and right now, she was already behind Kuroi. Without any hestiation, she began to attack him with a series of kicks, but at the same time, she fired 29 bullets at the statue. No matter what, Kuroi was going to get interupted, Nijote refused to fail.

Yeah, Bullshit summed it up for me pretty much, and I loved the whole "Paradox of the Death Penalty".

Which basically goes like, if someone were to be innocent and the state killed them, everyone who supported the death penalty would then become a murderer, and would then deserve to also die.

But seriously, looking at people like the BTK Killer... You really wish he was dead.

You know, it doesn't really matter if we're causing the global warming or the planet it. It threatens our way of life, and we need to keep the balance we have now. Just because you spill a few drops of pop on your counter doesn't mean you shouldn't wipe it up before it gets sticky.

Which of course, tells you nothing about the game itself.

Edit = Except that it is about Pokemon... I was asking what the game actually is, you know, gameplay wise.

Doe was hit by the knuckles with a rather distrubing crunch, more bones being broken. Doe rolled down the hill and almost landed in the road. Struggling to get up, Doe slowly started to walk towards Yinns, back up the hill. Doe reloaded the gun while moving up the hill. At the top of the hill, Doe pointed his/her gun at Yinns. Doe tried to aim, but his/her vision was doubled, Doe just felt that he/she was bleeding from his/her lower chest. A rib had broken outwards and he/she was losing blood very quickly.

Doe tightened the bandages all over his/her body, forcing the wound to stop bleeding, but it had taken several moments, when Doe looked again at Yinns, his/her vision was still doublbed. Doe felt his/her blood drain and fell backwards, awake, but unable to move.

Doe's thoughts: "I've bled to much... I can't even sit up anymore... it feels like every bone in my body is broken... Why was he able to do this to me? How did he beat me? Just a moogle..."

Doe remained awake in an awkward pain, psychological and physical. The worst part was that Doe was now powerless, if Yinns woke up, even being able to move would be better than anything Doe could do.

When you make one exception, you have to make a lot of exceptions. If someone says you can't read a fairy tale, that just establishes a reason why you shouldn't read another fairy tale.

Why is it an issue of morality though? Why can't it just be a fact of life like everything else is. It is certainly morally wrong for children to be taught that women are powerless, but pleanty of fairy tales show them as powerless rewards.

I thought of a nice metaphor for PC, but bear with me, it might suck.

PC is like a car crash between a bus and a small car. The bus levels the car of course, but because so much of the force was distributed through the car, no one was really harmed.

Now, replace the bus (PC) with a bullet. The bullet may fly through the car, killing someone, or it may completely miss. It's all luck.

It needs some revision.

Anyways, Silvershield, I do get a homophobic feel from what you type. I can't point out an example where you said "I hate gay people" or where you really implied it, but after reading all your posts, it really does seem like you think gay people are lesser people who are in the wrong.

No, because heterosexuality is the "norm" and, as such, acts as a sort of control group. It describes the overwhelming majority of America's population and, even so, appears as a neutral rather than an influence in one direction or the other. However, since the homosexual issue has yet to be settled here in America, it is still politically charged (as was pointed out earlier) and so it carries with it the sense of a teacher imposing a political or moral standard on his students.

This gives it...

I'm trying to avoid a morality argument here, since if we get into another one of those, we'll get into a "pissing contest" as Tarale said so elegantly.

But yeah, post above your last one: I won't go off on my own tagent because Skydude is pretty much approximating how I feel about this. It's not a matter of being pro- or anti-gay, it's a matter of morality being taught to young children in schools. To address your question directly: no, teachers should not read "whatever they want" to their grammar school-age students. Especially if the content they propose to use has material that some parents might find objective.

You use moral as a stage for a lot of things, you use it to say something is wrong (or immoral) and that's what gives off the feeling. I've already given my opinion on morality in another topic, and I don't want to get sucked into another argument where you start with something small (implying I'm out of touch with reality), and leads to me basically saying you're a dumbfuck. We don't want that.

Silvershield: Your comment that I quoted/posted seems that you do, but if you say you don't, then all right. I don't know why I get that feel from you though, I honestly believe if I were to meet you, you'd be just like any other boy around here talking about how disgusting fags are and that they shouldn't be fags, that they should be mocked, etc. If not though, oh well, my mistake.

You bring morality up again when the general populace in that state already decided it was perfectly fine. It isn't morality, the teacher is using a fairy tale to show them what it is like in the state they live in for some people.

Shen walked towards Evan and when he passed out, she reached out with her soul to hold him upright. Before the chaotic power could overcome her, she raised a barrier to filter it out. She slowly let Evan fall to the floor and tried to wake him back up.

Shen: "Evan... Don't hate me for that..."

Star didn't seem to mind the chaos as it washed over him.

Star: "You know Janus, I've had a long time to think about how to kill you. I may not understand what happened to you, but I know the real you would be begging me to kill you right now!"

Star leaped at Janus, bringing his sword down with a strong force, but he wasn't aiming at Janus' body. Star knew that Janus couldn't be killed through his body. He was aiming at Janus' hammer. Star would break it and destroy everything inside.

Nijote checked to see if her victim was still alive. He was, of course, Nijote knew that she didn't kill him, but she had to check to ease herself. She picked up his limp body and touched a radio communicator in her ear.

???: "Are you ready?"

Nijote: "Yeah, go ahead, teleport me."

Nijote and Kuroi vanished in a bright light.

Nijote and Kuroi reappeared with a flash of light, right outside the door where Kalar and Garro were waiting. She didn't bother knocking, but walked right in. She tossed Kuroi onto a nearby couch and looked at Kalar and Garro.

Nijote: "I hope you weren't waiting to long, he... was a little stronger than I thought."

Nijote's thoughts: "Those traps were overkill, such a waste."

Star: "Well Janus, if the greatest swordsman on the continent was here, we wouldn't need to be here now would we."

Star sighed, he was totally convinced that no matter what Janus said, it would be wrong.

Star: "I'm one of the greatest, as in, I can beat any other person on the continent except the greatest. Now, some others might be able to kill dragons, but they just requires brute force, not skill."

Star started to move forward down the hill towards the, now burning, village.

Star: "We should really look for survivors now, split up if you want, but if you mess up, I'm not coming to your rescue."

As Star walked down the hill, someone got out of the wagon.

Hector: "Damn, what a bastard. Doesn't even apologize for making us wait, god."

Hector was talking to Janus as he began to walk down the hill.

Hector: "Well Janus, think there will be treasure this time? If I'm wasting time, I'll get pissed again."

In a weak hazy voice, almost hard to hear, with almost no show towards one gender or the other, Doe finally spoke.

Doe: "So you're still alive?"

There was a pause as Doe choked on something.

Doe: "When you can stand up, please kill me."

Doe paused for a second, what could saying more hurt.

Doe: "I'd rather die than go back after failing."

Holy shit, look what one word does to a paragraph.

Dude, you used an argument against us, tried to generalize it, and it failed. So you try and cover yourself when it is used on you by your opponet? This is called hypocrisy.

You want to see my evidence, circumstantial or not, fine.

First, I'm going to explain how both you and Silvershield come off as homophobes, I'm going to do it with context of multiple posts from Silvershield and whatever I can find for you. (You might not be so obvious by calling anything to deal with homosexuals immoral.)

And homosexuality is not inherently political...but at the moment, it is, and as such, like any issue of that sort, it's not the place for school teachers to be teaching the morality of it and superceding the parents.

To respond simply to both points, I don't think the teachers should take it upon themselves to decide what moral values to teach children. As for Dr. Suess, I would have opposed teachers foisting it upon children when the books first came out, yes. If the parents approved, fine. If not, then those parents who wanted to anyway could still get the book. I'm not for censorship at large, after all. In this case, if the parents are alright with it, fine, but otherwise, no, I don't think it's right. Perhaps eventually it can move towards the model you suggest, but I hardly think it's this teacher's place to decide when to do that.

No, they decided they were alright with gay marriage. They didn't decide they were alright with the teacher teaching that morality.

From the only topic dealing with gay people that I felt like digging out. According to you, homosexuality is a concept of morality, and as such, it can be deemed either right or wrong and can't be deemed automatically ok. This conveys to me that you believe that homosexuality should be contested and that you don't want to accept it for what it is. A bond between two people of the same gender. This implies it to me, this is how I got it from you. I didn't want to bring it up with you, because I have more respect for you than that, but you've been attacking me and Ziff because we're reading something differently than you.

You think that vibes mean nothing and are codewords. I think morality means nothing and is a codeword to make people feel better about condemning things.

I get the feeling from you, that if some guy hit on you because he thought you were gay, you would get pissed instead of just shrug it off laughing like a sane person would do. Sorry if you weren't getting at that, but to me, it sure as hell does sound like it.

Yeah, these two posts really give me the same over all feeling that you have something against gays and can't accept that it isn't their fault or something. Sure, you might not have meant it, but when it comes to the internet, you can't correct yourself because someone gives you a strange look. Hell, it's fully possible that I don't think you're a homophobe, but you sure as hell do seem like it in my mind after these two posts.

I was operating under the impression that you were sexually attracted to both sexes.

But, you've corrected me and said that you feel that way for females only. So, you're homosexual. You are female, and you are attracted to females.

You are whatever sex your mind tells you that you are. It so happens that people are sometimes born with ambiguous physical characteristics, but they will invariably identify themselves more strongly as one sex than the other. Although in most cases it is reasonable to base a person's sex on his or her physical attributes, it is also reasonable for a person to contest that his or her mental state does not match the body he or she was born into. So, you were born into a body with which you do not identify and, even though you retain some of that body's sexual anatomy, you are no more a man than any "real" woman is.

Anyway, I guess I better stop talking now and start hating you, because that's what homophobes do, and Ziff's vibes have proven that I am a homophobe.

This post ticks me off. I mean seriously, wtf. What is up with you and lables and not being able to accept the person's opinion who is there? Kasumi, from my knowledge, is unable to have children. (Unless science has made great advances without my knowledge.) I don't know what I'd really consider Kasumi actually, and I don't think there is a lable you could use. People are to complex to really lable that easily, which I think Kasumi was trying to get at, and you ignored so easily.

And niether me or Ziff have tried to PROVE you were a homophobe, you just seem like a homophobe TO us. We get that impression from you. Jesus. Learn2comprehend.

You're going to try to argue this, I know it. You're going to say you don't come off as a homophobe at all, because it's right there, and it isn't hard to get the impression that you're a homophobe. You can say you didn't want to come off as a homophobe, but really, anything else you say, just means you're trying to defend not against me, or Ziff, but from a translation of what YOU typed.... jackasses.

However, you're both pretty awesome guys anyways.
