Why not type up a description, get some screenshots, and submit it to ROMhacking.net

Ew... if you're going to do custom graphics do them good, better than the originals. Hack the palettes, look to later NES games for inspiration (Hint: I'm talking about outlines, they make everything look better), and change all the graphics. If this isn't supposed to be Mario it should look like Mario at all.

Corrupster is my favorite corrupter and has all the features BGNG listed. (edited by Dragonsbrethren on 03-08-06 03:20 PM) |

You don't want a program, the only program available sucks and it is actually easier to use hex to change them:
http://romhacking.deadbeat-inc.com/docs/paletdat.htm Use FCEUd or FCEUXD instead of Nesticle. |

Sonic 3 is a total pain in the ass to work with in terms of level design, from experience. You might actually be better off porting the shields to one of the other games, disassemblies make ASM work so much easier.

Just out of curiousity, what is this program?

What Disch said. Keep in mind FCEUXD has a built-in hex editor, allowing you to change them on the fly.

Rockman, I don't want to influence you too much, but this one hack I played scraped having bosses on the stage select and made it so you select the actual stage instead. Pair that with disabling the introduction of the boss, and move the levels around on the screen, and you could make "suprise" bosses at the end of the levels.

Yeah, you won't notice your changes instantly, but they'll be there.

Well, if you're just enhancing MM2, how about recreating some of the features in future titles? I'm thinking charging, the Atomic Fire already can so it should be possible to port the effect to another weapon, namly the Mega Buster.

I was planning on doing this with CV1 but I decided to wait until the room order was figured out. I think Dan has the data but I don't have the motivation to actually do it. As for Zero in X3, I had a PAR code a long time back that would turn X into Zero, it sucks because Zero's saber is overpowered, you'd have to nerf the saber to make it into a fun hack. The code had a side effect of allowing Zero to use weapons, which was cool. |

I think I did Bubble Man first my first time playing, but I usually did Air Man since that's what the manual suggested. Now I do Metal Man first since I love the Metal Blades. (edited by Dragonsbrethren on 03-12-06 12:09 PM) |

Originally posted by Kirk Bradford Myers I actually had this idea when SMILE was first announced, Vagla said it was impossible due to a lack of rooms or something, once SMILE was released I never even tried it... Hmm, could be something to work on when I'm done a few of my other projects. |
