My parents never had a microwave in our house. lol My little brothers bought them one this year for their anniversary. XD
But yeah. I moved to New York, and used one for the first time for something that wasn't popcorn(which I'd made at my aunt's house).

Conversation~thingy with my boyfriend and his best friend when I first moved there:

friend: Hey, let's make some [..I forget what they were called. >>].
me: ..what are those?
friend: ....WHAAAAT? You.. don't know what [..yeah] ARE? >0
me: ..um.. no? >>;;
friend: ..DUDE. EVERYONE has had those. They just.. have. Any one who has a microwave, has HAD these. >0
boyfriend: um.. She.. never had a microwave. XD
friend: ...I.. WHAT? *falls on the floor looking stunned(deliberately)* ..you're shittin' me, right? Tell me you're kidding. Oh. My. God. How can you NOT have had a microwave. Where did you live? A CAVE?
boyfriend: uh. Canada.
me: ..*laughs* There are microwaves in Canada. XD
friend: I GUESS NOT. >0
boyfriend: well.. uh. So do we want to make some, so she can see the MARVEL~ that is [..whatever]?
friend: oh HELL yes. There are YEARS of deprivation we have to make up for. YEEEEEEEARS, I tell you. You poor deprived child.

boyfriend: what do you want to watch?
friend: well.. I forget what's on now. *turns on the tv*
me: what's that? (I forget what it was, but something that I now know that pretty much EVERYONE has watched. >>; )
friend: ......OH. my god. PLEASE tell me you're kidding. I'm ..you're making me cry here, girl. Stop. Please.

Ailure, ...eyeah. I agree.

Living away from your parents is really nice in terms of becoming more responsible and stuff. It also helped me with the whole.. "And then that I finally overcome my shyness when it comes to actually buying and ordering stuff. Before I couldn't even order a pizza..." thing. I couldn't either. xD;
I was WAY too shy. My mom always did everything for me, for.. pretty much anything. Trips, school stuff, etc. Heh. Being more self-dependent is awesome. <3
It was nerve-wracking at first, but now I love it, and I'm proud of myself for being able to talk to people. ^^;

We got quite a bit of snow on Thursday where I live; they had to close my college early so people could go home.

I should call my grandparents and my brother though. They live in Switzerland.. I hope everything's okay with them. o.o Any idea what's going on in the Zurich area? Or the Lucern area? heheh

I'm.. really not big on smoking. I can't stand being around people while they're smoking.. it makes me sick. I've always known I'd never try smoking a cigarette or cigar, ever. My dad has smoked since before I was born.. he used to chain smoke ALL the time. He's sort of cut down on the number now, but he's switched to ..Colt thin cigars, or whatever. Ick. Watching him deteriorate, in comparison to my uncles (his brothers) who don't smoke, is scary. My boyfriend's dad just died of cancer recently; it started in the lungs, and when the doctors finally thought he was over it, they found out the cancer had spread to other parts of his body. He kept smoking right up until he died.

I realize a lot of people can smoke their whole lives and be fine, but having those examples right there, sort of.. in my face, makes it really easy for me to be really upset when I find out someone I know has started smoking. I try not to be judgemental, or overbearing about it towards them, but.. it's kind of hard sometimes. Thankfully I haven't had any of my really close friends start, because I'm not sure how I'd deal with that. =/

I can never understand why people think smoking's sexy, or looks sexy, or whatever (no offense to those who DO find it sexy, I just.. can't). It's like.. watching someone comit suicide, a bit at a time. *shuddertwitch*

Ontario has started making it illegal to smoke in public areas like restaurants and whatnot. I know that pissed a lot of people off, but it makes eating SO much easier for people who don't smoke. Trying to eat while you're trying not to gag is.. kind of difficult. Since I'm in NY now, I'm still not really sure what the laws are on smoking, but I haven't seen a lot of people smoking inside. Just.. right outside the doors, which is.. ew. But.. I guess they have to smoke somewhere? I dunno. It's still annoying, especially when you see those signs saying "NO SMOKING IN THIS AREA", etc. >>

That's awesome, Shyguy! I know you're probably pretty damned nervous/scared right now, but once you get used to the idea, the ..timing/unexpectedly soonness of it, or whatever, I'm sure you're going to love it. I remember you talking about how much it sucked living there, and stuff, so.. just think about the bright side. You won't have to deal with that stuff, and your mom is getting help. *nodnod*

I remember when I moved, I was sooooo incredibly nervous, even though I'd been planning it for quite a while.. it still felt rushed and pretty darned scary when the time came. Kind of like "..wait, what the HELL WAS I THINKING. @.@;;" and stuff.. but once I got settled in.. it's awesome. I wish you good luck, and I hope you'll have an easy transition to your new place. ^^

Hey.. I realize I'm kind of bumping an old~ish thread here, but.. reading this made me.. angry. I read your first post, Keitaro, and I went "..Holy crap, what a rude bitch." (Sorry, but.. yeah. ..Oh, and I mean her, not you. >> ) I'm actually surprised noone else mentioned anything like ..what I'm about to say. I'll probably come across kind of.. harsh, I guess, but.. ugh.

Okay, first of all. Your height is not something you can change, as you said. The fact that she would make you feel bad/insecure about something that's a physical, uncontrollable 'feature' is ..pretty sad. I'm 5'10", which is pretty tall for a girl. I used to feel weird, and would hunch over and stuff, trying to be shorter like everyone else. However, that was more a.. personal feeling of insecurity, because I was different.

Having someone you care about telling you that's something about you that you can't change is something they don't like, to the point where you start feeling insecure and awful about it..that's just cruel. Even if she is bi-polar, that's not an excuse. There are medications you can take that can help control 'episodes', make a person more stable, etc. It sounds to me like she didn't investigate her options with that, if that is indeed what's wrong. Sounds to me like she just liked putting you down. She can dislike things about you, but that doesn't mean she has to tear you apart over them.

That is a load of BS. Either that, or she's used to being abused, so she might not feel secure in your relationship without some form of nastiness. That's another load of BS. You're human, not a robot. When someone says something hurtful, it's natural to cry. Even for guys, believe it or not. ;p It doesn't mean you're weak, and it doesn't mean there's something wrong with you, or even that you're over-reacting. I mean, I don't know what she said, but.. judging by what you've said about her, in general.. I highly doubt it's over-reaction. If it was something like "I wish you wouldn't eat pizza. That's so.. gross." or something.. well, fine. lol But if she has a problem with you expressing emotion, especially to something hurtful she's saying directly to you.. ugh. I'd be running(..well, I can't run, so.. driving? lol) away from that relationship as fast as I possibly could, if I were you.

Yeah, it is.. especially when a lot of the time "teenage" relationships only last a week or two. I'd also have to say it shows something about yourself too. Okay, now.. about your second post. I'm sorry, because I know it hurts to break up with someone. However, in all honesty.. I'm glad you're out of that situation. I hope you don't allow her to try and pull you back in. She sounds abusive, and downright awful. I'm not going to say it's all her fault, or anything like that, but I want you to consider the idea that it isn't all YOUR fault either. Relationships are two-sided, right? She sounds really, really selfish, not caring about your feelings.. and it sounded like you were the one doing most of the 'work', to make your relationship function, as it were.

Obviously, I don't know the entire situation, and I'm just going by what I've read.. but I just.. couldn't stand letting this thread pass by. I don't know what to tell you, but.. I think you should consider looking for ways to make yourself more.. important, to yourself, I guess. It sounds to me like you're very low in the self-esteem department, and could use a boost. I don't know if there's someone you can talk to about stuff like that, but.. I hope you do.

One piece of advice I would give though, is that you shouldn't get into another relationship right now. You'd probably be vulnerable to putting yourself in the same situation (not a DEFINITE possibility, but.. it's plausible). Work on that self-esteem. *nodnod* You sound like a good person who's just.. really down right now. Take some time to be yourself and learn to like yourself a bit more, if you can. ;p

I hope you keep feeling positive about stuff now. I know it's really hard to 'get over' someone you've been in a relationship with, and I hope that goes alright. Just keep thinking about the differences between your life right now, and your life when you were going out with her. It's might be lonely for a while, but in the long run, you'll be happier, I think. ;p

I'm glad to hear you stood up for yourself. Generally if you let people 'walk all over you', they'll do it, even if they don't realize what they're doing. =/ Anyway. heheh

I have.. a lot of pets. heheh

Here in NY, we have 4 cats:

Priscilla, also known as Fluffa or Princess Fluffybutt (or many variations thereof), is a ..well, my boyfriend's mom says she's a Maine Coon cat, but she doesn't have pointy ears, so I dunno. She's grey, with really pretty green eyes. ^^ She's really odd sometimes. heheh Then again, most cats have.. personality. XD She meows a lot, especially when you pet her. Sometimes you don't even have to touch her yet, and she'll meow. We make jokes like "Hey, stop killing poor Fluffa" whenever someone's petting her, because she's just that loud. She sounds like you've insulted her, every time, but eventually she quiets down and just sits and purrs. She lets Chris or I use her as a pillow, and generally lets you move her however you need to to get comfortable. heheh She's definitely my favourite cat here. :3

Cali, also known as Tubba, or (to me) Calily, is a calico cat. She's really chubby, and she kind of waddles when she walks. She's actually a really tiny cat, she's just got a really big belly. She purrs really loudly, especially if there's another cat in the room purring. She seems to want to out-purr the others. She also randomly sits (usually on the couch) and yowls. Loudly. I've been woken up several times by the sound of that yowl. Sometimes I wonder if she's trying to make up for how tiny she is.

Sam, knowns as simply Sam, is.. orange.

? He's got the cutest striped tail though. It's like it fades from orange to white by degrees.

..darn, I thought I had a picture of a cat that had a tail kind of like his. Ah well. =/ Sam is incredibly agreeable. He'll let you poke and prod him, and he just looks at you. He loves chicken, and if we're making something with it, he's CONSTANTLY weaving around our legs. It can be dangerous sometimes, if we forget he's there. heheh He's got a "girl cat" meow.. small and ...I don't know. It's just.. girly. xD He snorts instead of purring.

Then there's Spook. She's a Siamese cat. She's.. well, she takes after her name. Usually it's "Hi and bye, Spook's butt." when we see her. Lately though, she's actually coming up to me and letting me pet her a little.

DDDD Serious progress. heheh She still runs any time she sees Chris though. =/ I think it may have something to do with the fact that he and his friend tried to catch her the one day.. probably traumatized the poor thing. >0 She's a gorgeous cat. Her markings are really distinct. I'm assuming she's not full-blooded Siamese, because she's got stripes on her face and stuff. heheh She's adorable though. :3 She has the tiiiiniest~ meow. ^^;

Then at home(in Ontario), I left behind:

Monty, "my" cat. His full name is Marquis de Montcalm (and no, I didn't name him). He tends to act like he owns the place though. heheh He's black and white, and.. really huge. When he stretches up, he can put his paws on my hip and butt my elbow with his head to get my attention. He's my baby (which is probably why he acts the way he does. ;p) <3 He follows me around like a puppy. heheh. ^^; I was really, really sad when I had to leave him behind. When we move, I want to go get him and bring him with me. He sneaks inside any time the door's open at my parents place, so I think he'd be fine as an indoor cat. heheh I could ramble about him a LOT, so.. I think I'll move on before I do. xD;;

Phantom, one of my little brothers' cat, is, as you might guess, black. Completely. He's kind of shy and doesn't like to be picked up and held for very long, but he loves being petted. He has a really, really quiet meow. He refused to go to the new place when my parents moved, so he's still at my old house. I hope the new owners are taking good care of him. =/ My little brother was really sad about that, but he goes and visits sometimes.

My parents got two new kittens after I left. They're both grey, but one's a wee bit striped. They named them Smokey and Bandit. heh They're cute and cuddly and whatnot, but I haven't spent enough time with them to really know their personalities that well. =/

Ginger, my dog. She's ..well, ginger coloured, with brown eyes, and a brown nose. She's a real sweetheart. <3 She's really funny when it comes to cats though. She's fine with ours, and will let them sleep in her doghouse, but if any other cat dares to come onto our property, she spazzes out and chases it up a tree. We got her from the Humane Society, and they apparently found her in a puppy mill. At first she was a bit.. weird, as might be expected, but once she got used to us and our place, she's just... awesome. :3 She loves to play, and she's incredibly smart. She's TERRIFIED of storms though. We usually had to let her down into the basement during storms, because she'd throw herself at the door, trying to get in. >.< I really miss her. =/

Suzy, my horse. <3 (Well, technically my mom's, but miiinor detail *waves that thought away like a pesky fly* ;p) Her full name's Suzy Q T Skipper. She's an American Quarter Horse. She's also a funny creature. heheh She doesn't like saddles much. I'm too chicken to ride her bareback though. I have an issue with heights, so I would generally just go out and sit or walk around with her, rather than ride her. I used to love riding horses when I was younger, but now it's hard for me to relax. Suzy's really gentle with me when I ride her though. I think she can feel how nervous I am or something. She's kind of skittish and bouncy when other people ride her, but she tends to stay calm when I do. o.o I miss her too. =/

I have.. too many pets that are gone for me to go through them all.

This post is already really long as it is. heheh That, and I'll get all emo. >> So yeah. Those are my pets. <3 Oh. My parents live on a farm, so we also technically have a LOT of pigs, but.. they don't really count as pets. heheh

Also, I was going to colour their names to break this up a bit, but.. I don't remember how. xD;;

I realize that a lot of schools have it worse off than what ..Super Luigi is describing- violence, and.. whatnot. I didn't have.. the greatest high school experience either.

But I do think he has a point; banning what is essentially bottled water? o.O That's just.. really stupid. I could maybe understand limiting your soft drink consumption, even though I don't think that's really the school's responsibility, but I don't see how banning flavoured water is worth it. I'd be curious to know what food they serve you now, since you said they serve you things that are anything but good. heh.

I think schools are wasting a lot of time worrying about stupid things when they're supposed to be worrying about the students' education, like Black Lord said. >>

Our theatre had a lot of rowdy people.

From the internets. xD

At the beginning of the movie, someone shouted "Long cat is looooong!" causing an immediate uproar.

I feel kind of sorry for the people who had no idea what anyone was talking about, but it was funny anyway. When it got to ..The Line, or whatever, everyone cheered and yelled and whatnot. It made up for my .. being easily startled. (The snakes tended to startle me when they popped out. :<) The movie was awesome, but the crowd definitely made it better for me~
