i've created this complete tool-suite to hack neo-geo graphics
http://geocities.com/evobboy/nggts.zip i've already done some nice graphics hack in Metal Slug games EDIT: read the txt file for information, because NG has two tile format and there are 4 programs, 2 to "decode" and "recode" 16x16 tile, and two for the 8x8 one. it was f***in hard to find out how tiles are stored in NeoGeo roms (edited by evo on 12-11-05 04:19 AM) (edited by evo on 12-11-05 05:29 PM) (edited by evo on 12-11-05 05:55 PM) |

NeoGeo Pocket has a 2bpp tile format some graphics editor supports it (YY-CHR, TileED, probably Tile Molester) i think it's a 2bpp linear... for NGCD, i'm working on it eheheh coming soon CPS1 xD |

1. use another hex editor???
2.you must know the format the game uses (using asm??? ) 3.probably possible to make something like this using asm: for example thinking of a mario platform game, find some ram space, modify the routine that load levels and increment every time a "counter" where you have free ram space, modify the routine that went called when a level end, and control that the counter is not more than a certain number (for example 2 for the 2nd level) then if so make it freeze up or display some nice "thank you for playing this demo " |
