um...probably but I don't remember what?

have you ever played an RPG for a long stretch, only to die for a stupid reason and lose more than 1 hour worth of progress?

With Windows, it's more like a copy gets loaded in to the process address space. You use the FlushViewOfFile to save changes. So you can modify to your heart's content and not have to save it.

I'm not sure if developing this application on Win98 makes any difference but unless I use 'FILE_MAP_COPY' with MapViewOfFile, any writes will be reflected to the file.

you just need a USB to USB "network bridge cable," no software needed. However these cables run at least $30.

KHexEdit? it looks good. Seems like it has a bunch of stuff implemented for me already but I'm doing windows development and since it is KDE dependant, doesn't look like it is cygwin friendly...

I could use some of the logic...I've started the MFC path :x so, the windowing is now taken care of. However, I would like to see some alternative ways to do rendering of the bytes. Because I'm working with C/C++, printf is pretty nice (a lot better than calling one function to render one byte at a time)

technically, I had 3--1 in 4th grade, 1 in 8th grade, 1 right now

the 4th grade one was weird, so I really don't count that one (not to sure how long that one lasted--i'd say 2.6 months 3/17 to first week of june)

8th grade lasted a week

the one i have right now has been about 6 weeks already (started on halloween ) and has had the most progress in terms of showing affection...

Hex Workshop has a simple workaround to this: It works on a temporary copy of the file.
Question is...how is it done? it obviously doesn't do that if you take a look at an HD image...

well, i already know how it is done so yeah...

The BBB is someone you may want to talk to..

I too have SBC and well, I haven't been shafted yet but I tried talking to customer service about a week ago and they said if I wanted to renew my contract of 3Mpbs down service, the rates have to be raised to $59 . Also, I found out in that same call is if I didn't call in to actually cancel or renew, they would have done it anyways. Of course with customer service like this, it would make sense to defect to another company. However, they have the cheapest deals in my area compared to earthlink and speakeasy

first thing I suggest doing is verify all your cables. most hardware/software stuff won't adapt to weird cables. I know windows default drivers/ethernet won't do jack about it.

once you have verified you have the correct cables between each thing (i.e. CAT5), then check to see if all the computers can see each other. If so, then your LAN works and you do not need any new type of software. If you can't connect to the internet, then there is something about the computer that can connect to the internet that needs to be mimiced in your router. I remember reading in another manual that probably the configuration of your computer needs to be into the router, typically the MAC addy needs to be mimiced. There should be something in the router config page that allows you to do it.e
