Because the preview information is seperate from the main image information. I believe you can make that possible by changing the decompression algorithm in the file.

so...doesn't an easier class make things better? I mean, if you don't need chemistry for your major, then an easy class is a great GPA booster. I would be even more concerned if this class is needed for your major (as in, you are going to be a chemist or will be working with chemicals). Then you have a point of how backwards the class is.

I'm pretty sure that's not illegal. It's like getting in trouble for saying "the cat" in a song and ripping off part of the lyrics for another song. Stupid, and it's not going to happen.

to pull a quote of a drew carey...is um....sad IMO

It depends on how much information you want to keep. JPEG image format is not lossless. This means that if you save a BMP into a JPEG, you will actually lose some information about the picture. Usually, the amount of information lost is negligable to majority of people. This is why the format is quite popular is because most people don't care to that degree. However, to provide preview, you must save the information into the JPEG because there are different compression algorithms for JPEGs if I recall correctly. Because the operating system does not know what compression algorithm is used, the operating system itself could not generate the previews on their own.

I doubt you can do what you want to do without tracing variables yourself by walking through the code. One thing that I highly doubt will work is to do a #define where the global variable is and then to do a #ifdef check at all fclose() calls.

You could try making a wrapper around fclose() and do a runtime check that way by providing context information each time you call fclose().

yeah, san jose traded two draft picks to move up to get a defensemen--which is what we needed

and I'm glad wilson did not trade nabokov to the kings

I'm surprised about Vancouver's trade for Luongo, is he really that good?

would you rather open files one at a time when looking for a picture or would you like to see all your pictures at once?
