No, becuse...

GBA and GB games uses a diffrent voltages, the DS wouldn't change voltage. Orginal GB is 5v I think, GBA is 3v. GBA have some switch inside that is pressed down when you insert a GB cart.

Even if you made it read the GB cart somehow the ARM processor dosen't understand the machine code language from your GB cart. It probably wouldn't even try to understand it, as the GB ROM wouldn't have the correct GBA header anyway.

So it's like trying to get a DVD cd to work with a old CD player. You just can'.

(I forgot what processor the orginal GB had...

...I have a odd feeling that some of the signatures are fake, like how the hell would Trapster sign up at that petition when it's not posted until now on the board? He dosen't spend time on IRC or anything. And Acmlm probably would post something along the lines of "Hehe" as comment...

Reminds me about this I read once... (warning, christian propganda)

I wouldn't call it the mark of beast, as it seems to be a internatioal thing. And while I think totalitarian goverment is a bad thing, I still think it's little too far thinking it's a sign of the Apocalypse.
