I can't help but feel I'm just making things more difficult with this, but here's a way to do things manually. First of all, open your Super Mario World ROM in whatever hex editor you use. I'm using Translhextion right now, so things might look a bit different for you. Right at the top, you should see something that looks like what's highlighted in yellow in this picture. Your ROM needs to have that at the top. If you need to add that, make sure you're not overwriting what's already there
Note that the ROM I had open in that picture was completely unmodified, and the filename was "Super Mario World (U) [!].smc". It already had a header, as you can see, and the patch worked perfectly I'll PM you a link to that ROM in case the above doesn't even get the patch to work for you. Hopefully it does though. |

Are you telling me your keyboard doesn't have a number pad with a decimal key on it? Unless you posted this thread from a laptop, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use that button. It may not be meant to be used as a period, but it works in a pinch
One of the two keyboards at this computer has been used so much that half the keys no longer pop up to the proper height, and the slightest touch of one is enough to cause it to register as being pressed It still works fine aside from that though. That's about the only keyboard-related problem I can remember having right now though. I've never yet had a key simply stop working out of the blue, which I suppose is a good thing.
Still, to fix it, I'd suggest pretty much what Tarale said, unless you don't mind not having that button work ![]() |

An explanation: I read the first post of the thread, skipped to the bottom to read the last, clicked the "New Reply" button, then skimmed through the rest of the replies in newreply.php. I missed that part of your post, and for that I'm sorry. It won't happen again ![]() |

Wii? Interesting It sounded decent being called the Revolution before, but with the new name, I don't know what to think of it It's different, to say the least. The only thing I can see this really making a big change in (at least for me) is having to walk up to the counter at EB Games and asking them when they're taking preorders for the Wii as opposed to the Revolution
It seems like an amazingly awful name right now, but I suppose it could end up being one of those things that grows on you after a while. We'll just have to see ![]() (edited by Karadur on 04-27-06 12:51 PM) |

| You could try looking here. I ran the URL you posted through archive.org, which came up with this, but unfortunately, the only working link I was able to find there was for "FF1MapCompression.txt". The files in the "FFBytes_Docs" folder look to be the same as can be found on the first page linked to, so hopefully you can get what you need from there.
Good luck ![]() |

I believe the first time I saw a link to this was on Wincustomize, but I haven't really taken much interest in it (aside from reading what people send in), so I suppose the second option would be most appropriate for me. It's an interesting idea, but that's about it. I've thought about sending something in from time to time, but I ended up deciding against it in the end. There are much easier ways to share a secret besides sending a postcard to the person that runs that site, and for time time being, I'm content with those methods. Even if they don't afford you so much anonymity ![]() |

Bought it a week and a couple days ago, and I've been playing it on and off (although at least once each day) since. However, most of the time I turn my DS on, is during the wee hours of the morning, so I always get told "Don't stay up too late now" I'm trying to get into the habit of playing it during the day though, as I'm sure it's not doing my scores any good to play it right before heading to bed
My favorite activity would have to be either Calculations x20 or Calculations x100. Syllable count is pretty easy as well, but that's nothing definite yet, as I still have three more to unlock Head Count and Low to High have been the most frustrating so far (although for Head Count, only when the people are walking faster than they normally do), but once again, that could very well change.
The drawing games are fun as well (where the doctor's head pops up and says something about how he's going to tell you to draw three things, and then they'll be compared to his results), although most of the time, mine come out either looking like a bunch of random lines, or really poorly drawn. It seems the main point of it is to see whether you were concentrating mainly on what you were expected to (so for example, if you were asked to draw a picture of the Statue of Liberty, it'd be the torch in the statue's hand), so there's nothing wrong there. The only other thing I've had come up like that was a question asking me what I'd eaten that day. I couldn't very well fit "Beef & Potato burrito, cheese quesadilla, nachos & cheese" into the small box, so I simply wrote "Taco Bell", as that's where I'd eaten it. Several days after that, I got asked "What did you have for dinner on x/xx?" I couldn't remember, so I simply wrote "food" You can't really say that's the wrong answer.
My current (as in last time I ran the test) brain age is 45, and the best I ever managed to get was 38, I believe. Anyways, enough about my experiences with the game. How about the rest of you? Edit: As for Sudoku, haven't really messed with it a whole lot yet. I've never played that sort of game before, so all the past times I tried it, I used up my 5 mistakes before I even got one square filled in ![]() (edited by Karadur on 04-28-06 05:21 PM) |

Yes, that's definitely out of the ordinary, but I shouldn't really say it's too weird though, as I've had my own experience with this sort of thing. I won't go into detail, but let's just say back in grade 5 or so in public school, I ended up having the writing end of a pencil in my mouth for the duration of an assembly in the gym, entirely of my own will, mind you I can't remember why I did that, but right now, I'm glad nothing bad came about because of it
I think I know what you're talking about, but just to make sure, you're saying you eat these sorts of things, right? If so, I think you'd be more at risk for cutting the inside of your mouth. After all, those things are awfully small, and can become really sharp when broken in half. Even provided you manage to keep from injuring yourself, I'd think your mouth would be awfully dark after. If it's not harmful, I don't see why anyone would have a serious problem with it, so enjoy, I guess ![]() |

And here I thought he'd actually posted this himself I just refreshed the page, and saw "..., and 108 ahead of Acmlm (1)" at the top, and assumed he'd actually made a post. I imagine I'm not the only one that disappointed about that
Anyways, congratulations on the (unofficial) first post, Acmlm. I can't help but feel something's going to happen to it, but it can't hurt to say right now ![]() |

Never heard of the program before now, and I've got other image editing programs on this computer that serve my needs well, so I don't think I'll be switching any time soon. Paint.net and FastStone Image Viewer come to mind, but then again, I rarely ever do things with graphics, so they probably have more functions than I'll ever need
Anyways, your avatar looks alright. The fog doesn't get in the way too much, and that's about the only thing that really catches my eye. I can't really remember from where, but I recognize that sprite, or at least it looks something similar to what I've seen before. It looks like it's from a Megaman game to me, but somehow, that just doesn't seem right Your signature image looks a lot better with what you have now. I ended up blocking the picture of "James" because I was getting tired of seeing his picture after every one of your posts, followed by "Watch out spammers! James is gonna get you!" or something like that
Nice work althogether ![]() |

| A good example of this happened at work tonight. We were getting killed in terms of the volume of orders that were being made, and everyone's patience was beginning to wear thin. One family came in and ordered 6 crunchwrap combos, which had to be the worst time of the night. In all, they got their 6 crunchwraps, 6 bags of fries, and 6 drinks. The latter two were easy enough to prepare, but the crunchwraps are a pain. Each one takes at least 1 minute to make, and when you've got drive-through orders, as well as other ones coming from people in the dining room (and with most orders having been on the monitors for at least two minutes), it can take quite some time to actually get everything done and given to whoever ordered it.
Anyways, that's not the point. About 9:30, I was ready to walk off line (where the food is prepared), as I was tired of the constant stream of orders. However, right then, a ceratin song came on the radio (Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace, if it makes a difference), and I was suddenly happy being where I was Upon thinking about it a bit though, that could very well be because I wanted to hear the song, and moving would put me in a position away from the speakers. Whatever the case, after the song was over, I wished I could go home again
The only other example that comes to mind is the following. When I'm doing computer work at Heart and Stroke, I find it next to impossible to concentrate on what I'm doing for a long period of time, unless I'm listening to a long song (long generally meaning an hour or more). I can still get work done if I'm not, but it takes a lot longer
That's about all I can think of to say for now though. It is nearly 7 in the morning, after all ![]() |

Just out of curiosity, how many stamps do you have, Alastor? I unlocked Triangle Math earlier this morning, so I think that puts my count at 10 or higher That game in itself was quite confusing at first. The first time I tried it, I thought you had to add / subtract / whatever other operation the game may give you all the numbers on the top row, but that left me with nothing to do for the circles in the second row
I've got it figured out now, but it's going to be interesting to see if there's a hard mode for it, where multiplication and division get added in. It may simply even have more numbers. Who knows? As for the actual Brain Age tests, Word Memory is probably the most frustrating one for me as well. Even more so because the game sees my "a" as an "o" for whatever odd reason. Most of the time I try the whole Brain Age test thing, I end up choosing Calculations x30 (or whatever the number is), the Stroop Test (where you have to say the color of the words as opposed to the words themselves), and the Speed Counting thing where you're required to count from 1 to 120 as fast as possible, making sure you say each number clearly. A couple days ago now, I told my brother to try the Brain Age test to see what sort of result he could get, so he did. I don't know the exact score he was given at the end, but he said something about "It tells me my brain is in it's 80's!"
Anyhow, it's about time I was getting ready for work (yay for having a 7 to 3 in the morning shift ), so I'll leave it at that. |

| This is purely a guess, but try opening one of the songs in Goldwave (just to use that program as an example), and provided it loads, save the song into a different folder. Then, try playing the song you just saved, and see if it worked. I know one song I downloaded from Shareaza while ago got labelled as being corrupt, so I tried opening it in Goldwave, saved it, and it worked perfectly afterwards.
There's also an option in the program to batch convert a given folder, so provided testing that method with one song works, you could very well just set the whole folder to convert at once, and find something else to do while it's busy. However, if you don't have Goldwave (and even if you were to download it, there's a limitation of something like 3000 operations from the date you install the program), you could also try foobar, with the appropriate plugin, or any other music conversion software you may have. I had the exact same problem as this with a bunch of songs I downloaded with uTorrent a week or so ago now, and although I didn't think to try resaving one with Goldwave, you can give it a try and see if it works ![]() |

First of all, I'd have to say this is pretty good for being your first simfile. One thing you'll always want to make sure you do before uploading a simfile to Bemanistyle is to delete the ".old" files in the simfile directory. They serve no purpose whatsoever, other than to occupy at least 4kb of your hard drive's space
Anyways, I played through both difficulties, and in Standard, the blue arrow and the red arrow before bars 12 and 40 respectively seem to be just a little bit offsync. The same thing can be said of Heavy, so here's what I would do if I were you. Open the song in the editor, and press F4, to turn the assist tick on. Then, play through the song, and listen carefully for any arrow ticks that seem offbeat. Once you hear one, press escape, move back up to the arrow that was offbeat, and fiddle around with it's placement until you find something that's more on the beat. Don't be afraid to slow the song down either. You can do so by pressing escape, selecting "Song Options", and changing the "Rate" value to something lower than the default. I usually like to decrement it by .2, just because setting it to 0.5x will make it a lot slower than you may think it would After that, play through the song again, listening for offbeat ticks, and figure out the proper placement for those arrows.
Then again, it could just be my computer being slow, so give it a play through in the editor first, with the assist tick on, and listen closely at bars 11 and 39 to see if they're offbeat for you as well
As for the graphics, I can't see anything to comment on in them. Very nice work there Once again, good job for this being your first simfile.
Oh, and Kiraxo +, I'm pretty sure you want to find and download "DDR OSC Psychopath Edition". It's can be found here on Bemanistyle's forum. It should go without saying, but you have to be registered and logged in first. The simfile you're looking for can be found in that pack If that doesn't work, I can upload it to YouSendIt or whatever works best for you. |

From what I was able to find with google, the three you listed are all there are I found that on here, but given that the very URL has the word "beginner" in it makes me wonder whether everything that could be covered there actually is Anyways, take it for what you will. If I were to make a judgement on this, I'd say what that site says is right (mainly because I haven't seen any proof otherwise as of yet), but there's no telling whether it is or not ![]() |

Nintendo's page on the game sums everything about it up better than I could, so read that, and you should have a pretty good idea of what it is
Anyways, I unlocked Time Lapse a couple nights ago (I believe you need 15 stamps), and I don't like it The main idea of it is to look at two pictures of a clock, and give the difference in hours and minutes between them (which is what the name may lead you to think). As for the proper way to draw "a", that makes sense. It seems my problem was starting from the upper left as opposed to right Oh well. Next time I give the Brain Age test a go, I'll try that method and hopefully get a better score than before
Calculations x100 on Hard mode is definitely more tricky as well. It's exactly the same as the normal mode, except division is added into the mix. I can only hope there isn't a "Very Hard" difficulty that'll get unlocked eventually. When it comes to Reading Aloud, how fast are you reading? I find it difficult to get above 8 syllables a second, and the only way I achieved that score was by accidentally tapping "End" right after flipping to the last page. The only thing I could think of to help with your problem is to give yourself an extra two seconds (or a similar amount) before tapping "Next" at the end of each page. If that doesn't work, just keep increasing the amount of time until you no longer get the message that you're going too fast ![]() |

No, we're not. It had me confused at first, but quote both Danielle and Dragon master's posts and check for things that have changed. That may be giving it away already, so that's the only hint you're getting
Now, are those two words (well, technically names) the only ones that get changed? Even if they are, this is still rather amusing. Pretty much because this is the first time I've seen this (being used or otherwise), but I don't see anything wrong with that ![]() |

If I remember correctly, the main point behind those drawing were (for the Koala) to see if you focused on the big ears, for the kangaroo, the pouch on it's stomach, and for Austraila, it's twin peaks. For the latter, I focused more on drawing the little island to the lower-right of it (it's name escapes me at present) It doesn't seem to have any affect on the game itself, so you could very well make the screen completely black, and not have to worry about it changing your stats in any way.
So far, I've also been asked to draw the Statue of Liberty, the Mona Lisa, Queen Elizabeth, King Henry, and several others There's also questions that come up from time to time instead of having to draw, asking things like "What did you have for dinner on x/xx?" or, "What was the best thing you've heard on the news since x/xx?". The other day when I let my brother play it, apparently he got asked one of the questions, so several days after that, when I turned my DS on, I got asked to write down the answer to the question, and found it awfully strange, seeing as it was one I'd never been asked before After seeing the answer displayed though, it was painfully obvious my brother had written it (his handwriting is very... unique).
Anyways, I see no real point to those questions / drawing "challenges", but they're still fun diversions as opposed to starting the game up and just being shown the menu after choosing your profile name ![]() |

I'm placing my bets on it being an accident It's awfully hard to believe that an actual employee at that store would go to the trouble of rigging a toilet, in order to inconvenience a customer. Sure, one of the actual customers could've done something to the toilet as a prank, and that's what seems more likely right now. Unfortunately, the article doesn't specify exactly what kept the guy on the toilet
Then again, the very employee that found the man could've rigged the toilet. After all, that person would know exactly which toilet to go to. Still the "He was banging on the wall when the employee came in" part pretty much removes that option. Anyways, I don't know about anyone else, but I rarely if ever use a bathroom outside of the two in this house, and the staff bathroom at work. If I can't find a toilet elsewhere, then I'll use the closest one I can find, but otherwise, I'll opt to hold it in
I suspect this guy'll think twice about using a public toilet from now on, but who knows ![]() |

From what I was able to find, there are two BIOS files required SCPH10000.bin and ROM1.bin. I was only able to find the former in a quick search with google, and when trying to extract the other file, Winzip gives me a CRC error, so hopefully you have more luck there
There don't seem to be any other required files than that, unless of course you were expected to download video / audio plugins and such. Those are easy to find anyways. As for emulators, I was able to find the names of three PCSX2, NeutrinoSX2, and PS2emu. Both PCSX2 and NeutrinoSX2 seem to only be able to play demos, so unless changes have been made, and the site I'm looking at hasn't been updated in a while, it seems PS2emu is going to be your only choice. There's a screenshot shown of the title screen of Super Bust-a-Move, but who knows? Maybe it can only get so far as to display the title screen I think it's safe to say that at present, unless otherwise stated, it's safe to assume that no PS2 emulator is currently able to play commecial games.
Honestly, I'd say your best current bet is to burn whatever ISO to CD, then do what's required to get it working in your PS2. I was able to find a site that details how to get things working without actually having to worry about getting a modchip installed on your PS2, but... it seems you'd rather find it yourself
Here's a hint: it's like saying "Playstation" except "Play" is replaced by a word beginning with E. It fits into the whole theme of finding overlooked security holes and such, and that's the only help you're getting. That may be too much of a hint already
Good luck ![]() |
