I only get one result in the first 10 that actually pertains to me It links to my profile here, if that makes any difference. The others are two links to galleries (one at deviantART and one at the VCL), both of which have nothing to do with me Apparently there are 13,990 other results, but I'm going to say that most of them link to book sites, and a few would most likely link to my profiles on other boards I've posted at in the past.

As for you, Bio, I'm not surprised you got that many results However, apparently there's a member registered here with the username "+". If google would cooperate with me and allow that search string, I'm sure he (or she) would have you beat

I get nothing whatsoever if I type in a URL consisting of my username followed by .com, .net, .org, or whatever else. lololol just brings up the standard "Server not found" page. I feel left out _¬

Oh well. It could be much worse.

I think I'll let this picture speak for itself. That's just the ZSNES savestates though. Well, not quite, there's also the actual save files for several games in there, but otherwise, the rest have .zst, .zs1, .zs2, and so on extensions. It's never really occurred to me that using savestates could be seen as cheating, as since I first discovered emulators and ROMs, I thought of them as something you were expected to use

In short though, yes, pretty much all of the time

Posted on 04-18-06 11:28 PM, in Post your conversations with stupid customers. Link
The only things like this that come to mind right now are the following:

For some reason, Taco Bells in the U.S. don't have fries. Or so I'm told by some people that work at the same one as me. Given that, you have the choice of getting an extra taco, or a bag of cinnamon twists if you order a combo. Unfortunately, there are still people that come through the drive-through thinking they can substitute their fries for dessert

As for actual conversations though, here are a couple that come to mind:

Customer: I want a combo #2...
Me: Chicken, steak, or one of each?
Customer: Then I also want a [I can't remember what was being said here]...
Me: Okay. So for that combo #2, did you want it in chicken, steak, or one of each?
Customer: None.
Me: No. For the combo, did you want the soft tacos to have chicken, steak, or both chicken and steak on them?
Customer: None.
Manager: Okay. Could you please pull up to the window? We're having a really hard time figuring out what you want.

As it turns out, she wanted a combo #4, but how you could manage to confuse those two numbers is beyond me The next one happened right after we'd closed for the night:

Me: Okay. I'm going to go back and work on the dishes, unless there's something else you want me to do first.
Manager: No. Just... go get as many done as you can.
Several minutes later...
Employee #2: We're closed.
Customer: I want a combo #9
Employee #2: No... the food's already put away and everything. I couldn't make that for you even if I wanted to.
Customer: I want a combo #9!
Manager: Like he said, we can't do that.
Customer: $#@ you.
Employee #2: %#) you too buddy.

Nothing notably funny or humorous, but I've yet to experience anything worse than that

Posted on 04-19-06 01:06 AM, in Cigarettes Link
I'm going to have to choose the "Never have, never will" option, unless you take second-hand smoke into consideration. That's been especially bad at work lately.

There'll be times I'm out getting the dining room ready to be closed for the night, and someone will want to have a cigarette. It's much more efficient for them to stay up near the front of the building, as if there's an order, they can easily get back inside, get cleaned up, and make whatever food's on the board.

However, the only doorway close to the front of the building is in the dining room. There is the drive-through window, but I don't think it'd look very good for someone to be handing out the window with a cigarette in their mouth Anyways, they prop open the door (and note that by some miracle, they always want to have a smoke while I'm cleaning the pop station, which is right by said door), and light up. Combine that with the fact that the wind sometimes blows in through the door, and you don't have a very good mix

As well, one of the managers that used to work there smoked, and as such, saw nothing wrong with smoking inside the dining room on their break. Note that they would only do that at night of course No matter where you sit in there, the smoke would eventually reach you

Other than that though, I haven't smoked yet, and don't plan on. One of the people at work that likes to hang out the dining room door while smoking told me this small story: at first, he didn't think he'd ever smoke, but he tried a cigarette once, and hated it. That only made him more set on staying away from that sort of stuff. However, later on down the road, he tried another one, and from there got to where he is right now.

He invited me to try one once, saying that "one won't make you addicted", but I declined after hearing the above story.

That's about from me though.

Fixing your problem with Super Mario Advance 4 is as simple as setting the save type to Flash 128K. Do so by clicking "Options" -> "Emulator" -> "Save Type", then choose the appropriate option As for your problem with Fire Red, it appears the steps you took for Mario Advance 4 will fix that problem as well. Either that, or simply save state instead of actually saving the game.

Hopefully that fixes your problems.

Edit: Also, make sure "Automatic" is checked.

Posted on 04-19-06 08:01 PM, in Removing the space bar Link
Have you tried just prying it up and off the keyboard? I know that worked with an older keyboard that I mostly use for playing StepMania now. Several of the keys don't pop back up at all anymore, and therefore just touching one lightly is enough for it to register as being pressed

Anyways, after I had all the other keys off the keyboard, I simply slid a couple knives underneath the sides, then pried it up and out, then moved it back and forth until I was able to actually pull it off. I just tried removing the space bar from the keyboard I'm using to type this, and despite it sounding a bit different now that it's back on, it still works fine. It might take a bit of fiddling around to get the small metal bar on the underside of it to lock back into it's proper place, but that's about the only thing I can see being a problem

Interestingly enough, this is the first time I've ever heard of there being a specific tool to remove a key from a keyboard All this time, I simply thought anything that was flat and solid enough would do the job just fine

I'm having trouble finding any sort of cut-and-dried instructions for removing a spacebar in google, so here's what I would do:

1) Try to remove the spacebar exactly how you would any other key, but once it pops up a bit, stop pulling.
2) See if you can tilt it back or forth to get a better view of what's holding it on. Most likely it'll be a small metal bar, attached to tiny plastic clamp-like things.
3) Tug on the spacebar away from the plastic hooks, and it should pop out without too much trouble. If it doesn't, chances are you're pulling it the wrong way.
4) After you've cleaned inside the keyboard, replace the space bar like you would any other key, but just before you push it all the way down, use your key removal tool (in my case, a metal knife) to realign the metal bar with the plastic hooks, then push it the rest of the way down.

There's no good way to explain it, so as I already said, it'll take a bit of fiddling to get it back on correctly. It's definitely possible though, so good luck

As far as I'm concerned, I'm in. The only thing I'm usually out of the house for at night is work, and even then, I just leave the computer as it is, and usually come back to it being the same way. That is, unless my brother or sister decides to use the board tab to load another site They know to open a new tab for whatever they want to do though.

The most preferable days for me would be Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. Those are the slowest days for work, so most of the time I have them off Pretty much any day other than that would work as well, although I'm more likely to not be at the computer then.

Overall though, this sounds rather fun. It's going to be interesting seeing how it turns out

I don't know if it's the same thing you're talking about, but I'm using 1.8 as well, and so far, every single cheat list I've tried to load was all garbled The only thing I can think of to explain that is there being a change made to the way cheat lists are manipulated in the beta. Either that, or it's simply an error in the program someone's overlooked, in which case there'd be a good chance that other people have already reported this, and it'll be fixed for the next version (if we see another version).

The only current fix I can think of is to redownload the 1.7.1 beta, and use that for the time being. I just gave that a quick test, and it works, so that's about the easiest thing you could do right now

It's good to see you back

I just gave all five of those songs a try, so here are the results for my first run through them. Note that I ended up doing Angel's Pledge twice, as the first time through, I was only two Greats away from an AAA, so I played through it again, and got that result.

:: Chaos Angel - Act 1; Heavy
:: Chaos Angel - Act 2; Heavy
:: Chaos Angel - Act 3; Heavy
:: Angel's Pledge; Heavy
:: Rhythm & Police (Fusion Mix); Challenge

I might give Rhythm & Police another try later tonight, as that's not the best result there. For now though, I'm going to wait in the SMOnline lobby to see if anyone logs in that I know. I want to play against someone else, but I don't want to barge into another game when the people in there likely wouldn't even know who I am

For Kirby games, you might check here. Either that, or check this page on Wikipedia. Obviously that doesn't cover hacks, but it's a start As for Paper Mario, if you were to ask me, yes, you should play the first one as well. I personally like it better than The Thousand Year Door, but it's up to you to give it a try to find out what it's like.

The last time I was ever expected to do something for Earth Day was back in public school Even then, the only thing we did that I can remember right now was simply walking around the streets near the school and picking up garbage. Most of us were just glad to get out of class though We did the same thing one year in high school, except the area to be cleaned included the football field as well. The wind blew pretty much all the loose garbage into the fence around the edge of the field, which made our job considerably easier.

Anyways, I can't say I have any special plans for today. Unless Earl has plans for tonight's closers to pick up garbage in/around the parking lot, and in front of the building. I can't really see him saying that, but you never know

I know my brother got his wisdom teeth out probably a couple weeks ago now, and for the first couple days he didn't hesitate to let you know how his mouth felt. Given that he couldn't talk very well though, he had to write out whatever he wanted to say. There's still a sheet of paper somewhere in the kitchen with "My mouth feels like a cloth" written on it

He's actually been the worst of between him, my sister, and me in terms of having to get teeth removed. He's had probably 5 or 6 appointments now for such a procedure, whereas my sister's had to get all of two teeth (I think) removed so far, and I've only had one taken out I don't know about her, but I clearly remember being told at the end of an appointment that I likely wouldn't have to get my wisdom teeth removed, because they've come in in such a way so as not to cause problems. Whatever the case, I feel fortunate there

I'm really not a big fan of it either, but then again, a good portion of the music on this computer is simply stuff I downloaded because I wanted to hear what it sounded like, and hasn't been touched since then That obviously includes this music.

The covers are well done, but the music, sort of like Alastor the Stylish said, really doesn't seem like it's all that it could be Still, if I had to choose a favorite song, it'd either be "Switch Palace & Bonus Game" or "Castle Medley".

All around, they're not the best, but they definitely could be worse

Anybody up for trying The Impossible Song 3? The fact that there's mines in it makes it quite a bit more insane than it already is According to the simfile author's description, StepMania's autoplay can't even keep up with the arrows near the end of the song. I haven't watched it to the end yet, but it's going to be interesting to see This one definitely lives up to it's name, which could or could not be a good thing, depending on how you look at it

Anyways, I've got a bunch of screens to post, and I want to get them taken care of before I go to bed. Otherwise, they'll get left in the screenshots folder, gradually becoming older and older, until they get deleted.

:: Avalonia; Heavy
:: Ballerina; Challenge
:: Gaussian Mist (Part 2); Standard
:: Ile de Fievre; Heavy
:: Mary; Challenge
:: MaxX Cremation; Heavy
:: My December; Challenge
:: Omega; Heavy
:: Polynomial C; Challenge
:: Requiem for MaxX; Heavy
:: Snow Bash; Challenge
:: The Pride of the Tyrant; Heavy
:: Tonight; Heavy
:: Yoake no Hikari; Heavy

Strangely enough, the description of Avalonia says (and I quote) "Many players will AAA and even AAAA it without much trouble." It's basically a minute long 16th run at 163BPM, with a couple purple arrows (I think they're 12ths, but I'm not sure) thrown in near the end. It may be a fairly easy AAA for someone playing index, but it's not so easy otherwise. I feel fortunate to have even managed an A, but I suppose it could be worse.

Anyways, it's nearly 6 in the morning now, meaning I've been awake for 15 hours straight. I think it's time I went to bed

I forget exactly when, but either yesterday or a couple days ago, the banner at the top of the board started changing into various phrases. The ones I can remember are:

1) It's hunting season and we've got shi**y layouts in the crosshairs
2) This bucket of gray paint wants to be dumped on someone

There were four more, one of them just being gibberish, but I can't remember them right now. Anyways, I'd say the first one has to do with your layout disappearing. You're not the only one though. I know ghettoyouth had his wiped, and I'm sure a couple other members did as well.

The best you could do is find some way to figure out what exactly was wrong enough with your layout that it got erased, and fix the problem. That is, if you have a backup of the code

I can't really say I'm a fan of the whole sidebar idea, but other than that, you've got some decent looking screenshots there

I don't know about you, but I'm a bit reluctant to have to download and this package when I've got a decent way of having a Vista-like look on this computer already. Here's what I mean. Vista32px for WindowBlinds is the visual style (if you can really call it that) in use, as well as the Minium icon pack for IconPackager. Other than that, it's just standard stuff (such as the wallpaper and the like). Nothing terribly special, but I like it

The lock and shutdown buttons in the Start Menu don't work (the actual buttons are hidden in the white area to the left), but that's about the only complaint that comes to mind. Well, that and how the status area in an open explorer window won't show the currently selected file's size, or other attributes when you click it I don't get a whole lot of use out of that, but it still feels strange when it's not there

I'm going to download that pack right now, as there may be some usable stuff (wallpapers and such) in amongst everything else. Thanks for the link, Uncle Elmo.

As I recall, the user in the archive with that ID got banned (it ended up being a reregister of a banned user anyways), but while there's no problem with saying the same thing might happen here, I doubt it will. I've yet to see someone get banned for not doing anything on the board at all, but there's no telling what could happen. Of course, this is the Craziness Domain, so anyone could very well bet that "joshua" might start posting tomorrow, and become the top poster within a matter of days (so help me - that's the only thing I could think of )

I highly doubt that person noticed that the next ID would be 1337, and registered because of that, but once again, you never know

Never, and I hope I never have to. There are a couple games I could do without, mostly because they're basically taking up space (Polarium is one that comes to mind), but otherwise, I'd try to find another way to get the money. However, that's only if I desperately need the money.

If I was in your position where I needed the money for date, I'd likely look around and ask friends or family if they needed any jobs done, and if they said yes, see about possibly getting paid for doing whatever is needed of me. Barring that, I'd just tell whoever I was going to go on a date with that plans have changed, due to not having the funds necessary. There's a good chance they'll argue, but I can see at least 1 person out of every three saying there wasn't a problem, and then working out a new time and date.

I'm have a feeling that if you told whoever you're going on a date with about the bills you're facing, they'd be at least a bit sympathetic, but it's a bit too late for that now

In one sentence though, I never sell or trade games, and don't plan on doing so unless there's no other way to work things out.

Repeately cutting my fingers with staples while trying to sort through Door-to-Door reciepts at Heart and Stroke is one that comes to mind. See, the receipt books were stapled together in such a way that they stayed intact, and yet the ends of the staples were never completely flat against the card. The main thing that needs to be done with them is to sort all the books by number, and I'm sure each and every volunteer there has cut their fingers doing so before. The problem with it is that by the time you realize the staple pierced your finger, you've usually pulled hard enough to tug it out, which can lead to some relatively small, but quite painful cuts

Other than that, trying to fry pizza shells at work (ie, Mexican Pizza shells), getting plenty of small burns all over my hands, and having to wash the dishes in hot water afterwards. Not a good mix, even when the dishwater is about the same temperature that you're used to having it at. The main problem is the burns though, and the cause of those is the rack that's used to fry the shells.

Picture pages of a book, except that they're made of metal, and quite a bit thicker, then imagine putting a tostada shell (if you don't know what that is, just think of it as a round and flat piece of bread) between each page, then dunking the whole thing in grease for about 30 seconds. Once they're done frying, they have to be taken out of the rack, but by some miracle, there's only ever one pair of tongs to be found around the buidling, which leaves you to improvise as to how to lift each little shelf up. No matter what you choose, you'll end up walking away with a couple burns

Around the house though papercuts (although I haven't gotten one in some time now), trying to play with the cats when they don't want to be touched, especially seeing as their claws haven't been trimmed in a while, and having to worry about picking up slivers from the wall beside the computer are the only things that come to mind.

How about you, Shyguy? How did you hurt your thumb? You made the thread, so you must have had your own experiences like this

Edit: Also, after finishing supper one night, I got up and started walking out of the kitchen, and stubbed my toe on a chair. It didn't start hurting until I actually looked at it, and that surprises me. Somehow, I'd managed to bend the middle toe of my right foot into an inverted "v" Pulling on it solved that problem, but it still hurt quite a bit after I noticed it.

A program like snestool can do that job for you. Simply open the program select your ROM, and choose the "Add Header" option. Either that, or open the ROM in your hex editor of choice, and add 512 zeores right at the beginning. At least I think that's what you have to do. It's been a while since I did anything even remotely related to romhacking, so my memory's a bit rusty

Anyways, as for the hack, the screenshots look pretty nice, although they make me wonder whether this game is going to be another one that could fall into the "hard to very hard" category Time to download it and give it a try
