If it was as easy as simply saying "I quit" or not showing up for work, I'd likely have already done that. The problem is that a friend of mine is working there, and he knows how my parents feel about me having a job and such. I'd like to say more, but I haven't got the time right now

Anyways, as for the weekend, Friday night went horribly. From having to take 3 orders directly from people (as opposed to doing so at the drive through), to letting a customer drive off with $10.06 worth of food, when he hadn't yet paid, to treating Visa payment as debit (in my defense, it was my first time doing one of those, so I didn't know the steps were different than debit) to having to stay late to finish the dishes, which were my duty, it wasn't a good night.

Saturday evening, however, went surprisingly well. From 9 'till 12:00 or so, I did dishes, and various other things that had to be done. Around that time, the orders died down quite a bit, to the point where we were able to relax in the back area, as everything that needed to be done was. We took an hour or so long break, then a couple orders came in. Those were taken care of, and I was given more dishes to do. Skip ahead to 2 a.m., which is about the time the bar rush usually comes. There were four people working at that time. Josh (the shift manager), Jerome, Manoah, and me. Josh took orders, I took the money, and Manoah and Jerome made the food.

After the bar rush was over (which lasted until 3:00), I was put in charge of the drive through, to handle whatever other cars pulled up. There were only about 3 or 4, so it wasn't too bad.

At 4:00, we closed up, and I started cleaning / restocking the drive through. Josh came up and told me that he'd take care of it, so I should go back and do dishes. I did so, and about 4:10 I finished the last one, so I told him. The first thing I heard was "Holy s*** son! We're getting out of here early!" He called my Dad to let him know we'd be done sooner than normal, then we finished up the remaining tasks that needed to be done (sweeping the floor, cleaning the tables in the back off, taking out the garbage and cardboard, and the like), and we locked up. By the time we got home it was about 4:30. We were scheduled to be there until 5:00.

Overall, it was the best shift I've worked so far. If only more of them could go like that As things stand right now though, I'm going to have to leave the rest of this until tomorrow, so for now, that's it

I've had my real location listed on this board, but I suppose this can't hurt I've found the street we used to live on (Van Allen Ave), and I found the street we live on right now, but I can't find the intersection of it and Lacroix I think where my pin is right now is a pretty accurate indication of where our house is. There's 3 more buildings past us before Lacroix street startrs, but you can't be too fussy.

I am on there now though I'd say right now that Luigi-San is closest to me, but I have a feeling that could change with time

The one thing I don't understand is why the word "guest" is in the name, when it's rather impossible for guests of this board to tell us where they live without registering, in which case it'd make more sense to use their username

Just as a closing bit of random information, despite what the map says, there's no longer a St. Joseph's Hospital on King Street. They gutted the building during the summer, and are now working on making it into a retirement home (I think). I can't really say the map's outdated when they haven't changed their information to reflect something that happened a few months ago, but it can't hurt to say

I, as well, have a bug in my DS. I think it's dead About halfway through the bottom third or so of the top screen, there's a little blurry black dot. A couple months ago now, I was playing Nintendogs, and noticed something crawling around inside the top screen. I did my best to ignore it, as I had the feeling that it would crawl out eventually. Skip ahead to right now, and it hasn't moved in some time. No amount of shaking the DS or flicking / tapping the top screen has been able to move it

That aside though, there aren't many, if any other problems I can think of it having. I'm lucky enough to not have any dead pixels (not so much with my PSP, but that's off-topic), or to have ever turned the power off by accident.

As for PictoChat, I don't see much point to it either, as the most people you'll be able to get in a given room at any time is 16, and with that many people talking at once, the text would go by faster than you'd be able to read

All that aside, besides the insect problem, I'm quite happy with it

I'm currently using Megaman, but just before seeing this thread, I thought about how I was getting tired with the dark look, and wanted to go change it I just changed to FF9, and I think I'm going to stick with it for the time being. The username color for those members that have their gender set to "N/A" is kind of hard to read against the light blue background, but I like it

My favorite is still Megaman though. That's about all I have the time to say

It's been quite some time since I said something new in here, but I have an excuse Michele has been watching me quite closely since a couple Fridays ago, when I was caught with lololol open. Anyways, the first thing on my mind: I had to work last night.

I was scheduled to work from 9 to 3 in the morning, which isn't bad at all. I got there at 9, went to the back to take my jacket off, went back up to the front to clock in, then went to the back again to check what my next scheduled shifts were. The schedule for next week wasn't up though, so I turned around, to face Josh, who had just come back. He told me that I was going to be doing dishes (and there was a pretty big pile of them, so I'm not surprised), asked me to get a headset on, and went up to take an order from a car that was waiting in the drive-through. Skip ahead to about 10:30, and somebody else walked in. I don't know who she was, but she had to be a manager, because she told Josh that he could clock out and leave now that she was there

About 5 more drive-through orders later and it was 11:20. The manager asked me if I would mind going home, because they weren't busy at all. I waited until 11:30, and after seeing no more cars come in that 10 minutes, I figured I might as well head home.

In all honesty, I was glad I did, as I was extremely uncomfortable being around her. While I was up front waiting to bag a person's order, I thought I heard her asking where I was, and was about to tell her, then I heard Josh say "over on Wellington St. West". As Jerome so appropriately put it "Why would she want to know?" As I was getting ready to leave, she asked me if I was going to phone Josh and see if he wanted to do anything. First of all, my past weekend was spent at his house. After getting done work on Saturday night, I went to his house with him, and stayed there until Monday afternoon. Then, he came to our house for one night. I think it's safe to say that we were both looking forward to at least one day by ourselves

Anyways, I appreciate that she may have been concerned about whether I would have anything to do at home, but I think that's more for me to worry about than her. Either way, I had plans for what I would do after getting done work laid out a couple hours before I left the house. I had intended to come home, make up a box of KD, then go upstairs and watch my Looney Tunes and Garfield DVDs until I got tired enough to go to bed. Considering that there wasn't much else I could think of to do at 3 in the morning, that seemed to be a good enough plan to me.

As one last thing though, while I was getting ready to leave, I was asked what me and Josh usually do when I'm at his house (or the other way around). I said that we mostly play videogames. After that, I got asked whether I'd been to a bar or not, among other questions, and was basically made fun of for never having been. That question brought up another statement that was interesting though.

According to what I was told, Josh was telling people that on my 21st birthday, he took me and my brother to see a movie, then was going to take us to a bar or something, but I ran away. Not true. The night consisted of going to see a movie, then walking home, because it was after 12, and we really didn't feel like going anywhere else. It's really nice to know that he's been lying about me behind my back, and it's helping me to like working there alot more, especially when I was just starting to get comfortable with what was expected of me. If you couldn't already tell, that last bit was sarcasm _

So in all, the night started off alright, but quickly went downhill.

Right now I've got the usual weekend shifts (Friday and Saturday, 9 to 5), as well as one shift during the day, on Tuesday, which is from 11 in the morning 'till 4 in the afternoon. Why I've got that shift is beyond me, seeing as so far, I've worked solid nights. I suppose I could be up to being given 3 shifts a week, with one shift being during the week itself, wherever I'm needed.

As for last week, I got called in on Thursday, as a couple people called in sick, and had to start early (7 as opposed to 9) on Friday because the place was so busy (apparently they made sold $600 worth of food in one hour), so I'm glad that week is done and over with

I'm going to have to finish up here for now though. It's 4:30, and I've got other things I want to do before I have to leave. Once again, I'm sorry for not being able to respond to any of your posts, but it seems that by the time I get done typing the stuff that's on my mind, it's almost time for me to head home. Perhaps next time I start typing a post in this thread, I'll do it the other way around

It's been quite some time since I made a post in here That's mostly due to having a lack of new simfiles to play, as well as not having a whole lot of time to play them, but last weekend, before I left for home, I downloaded all of DukAmok's new simfiles, so I've got 8 screens to show today. Actually, two are of the same song, but one's an AAA, so I figured I might as well post both of them

:: Counting Snow; Heavy / Challenge
:: Cynthia; Heavy
:: Daikenkai (Core); Challenge
:: Dignity; Challenge
:: Return of Salieri; Heavy
:: Salieri Strikes Back; Heavy
:: Summer (Speedy Mix); Challenge

I think I might've posted any of the last 3 before, but I don't have a previous screenshot of them, so for now, I'm, going to assume I haven't.

As for Dignity, it's Moogy's version, and quite difficult, at that. Mostly because it starts off quite fast and doesn't let up at all, but that aside, I managed to pass it, so that's why the screenshot is there

As per the usual though, that's all I have time to say, for now.

Posted on 02-02-06 02:50 PM, in I'm never eating at Taco Bell again. Link
I just worked a shift at the one here in Chatham last night, and despite handing out at least 100 packets of both hot and mild sauce, I don't remember seeing funny / odd sayings on any of them If I remember right, ours just say "Hot" on one line, then "Forte" on the second, and the mild ones simply say "Mild" on the first line, and "Piquant" on the second. The hot packets are dark orange, and the mild packets are yellow. I'll have to take a closer look at each one tomorrow night.

As for good foods there, even though I haven't yet gotten a chance to try them, I'd choose either a steak / chicken / cheese quesadilla, or a bag of cinnamon twists if it counts. Unfortunately, as for the latter, they're only good when they're warm, at least if you ask me

However, the only foods I've actually eaten are a couple chili cheese burritos (way back when I was only 10 or 11), a fries supreme, a soft taco, and a spicy chicken taco. Not a whole lot of stuff, but enough to have at least a generalized idea of what the food there is like.

I really don't like the chalupas though. Not because of how they might taste, what they look like, or something else, but for the following reason: when a customer orders one, we're supposed to yell "chalupa down", so someone can put one of the shells into the fryer. So far though, the only time anyone has ordered one, for me at least, has been at the drive through. When someone asks for one, I'm usually more concerned about trying to hear the rest of their

Back on topic though, as I said before, I've never noticed any odd sayings on the packets so far, so I will have to take a close look at them tomorrow night

Now, I just clicked the "Preview reply" button, and saw the "Update in progress" picture at the top of the page, instead of the normal banner, so I'm going to post this now before anything else happens

Posted on 04-01-06 06:35 PM, in .3GP PLAYER Link
After doing a quick search with google, I found the main site for that file format (if you could call it that), and they list quite a few conversion tools and the like, at least one of which should be of use to you.

The site is here, and all you need to do is click "3GP Players", then choose which converter would best suit your needs. As for playing them in Windows Media Player, this site says the following: "Ringtone files with .3gp file name extensions are commonly found on Windows Mobile-based devices. You can download DirectShow filters from the Internet that allow you to play ringtone files in the Player. Keep in mind, however, that some filters may introduce instability with programs or your computer in general. Make sure that the filters are from a trustworthy software provider before downloading them."

There are, however, no links to the referenced filters on the page

One other thing you might be able to try is to look here (scroll down to near the bottom of the page to see what people have recommended).

Sorry if that doesn't help you, or is confusing, but I'm cutting it close enough in terms of having enough time to get to work, and I can't write anymore than that Yay for having the internet at home again though

Right. Since I don't seem to be getting any closer to sleep this morning (it's been about 6 hours since I got done a 12 hour shift at work ), I might as well post some more screens in here. I've got far too many to go through all at once, so here are the ones I think are the best, in no particular order, as they still have the default names (screen00000.jpg and such) and I'm not going to rename them just to get them in alphabetical order

:: Fields of Despair; Heavy
:: Once in a Lifetime; Heavy

And a couple screens from the PSP version of StepMania (PSP Revolution), since I have way too much time on my hands, and I actually did pretty well on some of them:

:: Angel of Darkness; Maniac (which I'm assuming is Challenge)
:: Crash!; Maniac / Challenge
:: Xenon; Maniac / Challenge

Not too many, but as I already said, I have loads more in the Screenshots folder, but I can't remember which I had planned on posting, and which I just took for the heck of it Even the ones I have on my PSP right now, that I planned on posting from Heart and Stroke are probably outdated enough that I could do better should I try them again

Anyways, seeing as I'm now actually able to surf the internet from home (finally ), I'm willing to play against anyone willing to, just as soon as I get StepMania Online set up properly. I can't really make any statements about how good I am, but by looking at the above screenshots, and some I've posted in the past, you should be able to get a pretty good idea

I'm going to go see if I can figure that out now, so that's it for the time being.

Posted on 04-03-06 02:47 AM, in Wireless Network Problems Link
First of all, here's how my Dad and I wanted things to be set up. My computer, which is downstairs, would be the one directly connected to the internet, and my Dad's computer, which is upstairs in his room, would connect to mine wirelessly. He went out to Future Shop and bought the wireless adapter shown in the slip we got with the internet connection package, and connected it to his computer. Frankly, I'm amazed he managed to get that far Given his track record with computers, it's a feat it inself

Anyways, earlier today (as in around lunch time) I helped him get things set up on his computer, and it actually worked then, as he managed to send an email to my Uncle. However, just a couple hours ago now, I shut down my computer as I had planned to have a shower and head to bed, but while I was in my room, he knocked on the door, asking why he couldn't connect to the internet anymore. That's easily answered. I shut down the computer that actually connects to it. So I turned it back on, and connected to the internet again, and went upstairs to see how he was doing.

For whatever reason, the settings for his connection didn't get saved, so we had to go through the whole "Let's have this computer connect to another one wirelessly" wizard thing again, but with different results. Now I can get to a screen that says something about not being able to set the computer up for an internet connection, and that lists various possible remedies, none of which I tried, but most of which I'm sure wouldn't work.

The strange thing is, it worked earlier. I can still access whatever site I choose down here, so I can tell there's nothing wrong with the actual connection. I can still access this site and such via my PSP, so I don't think there's anything wrong with the wireless part of it either.

The main thing I want to know is, what could my Dad possibly have done, or what could have happened between lunch time and right now, that would cause these problems?

The other (pretty much unrelated) problem is his computer itself. 32MB of RAM, less than a 300mHz processor, and Windows 98 don't make for a very good time of trying to get things to work

If it helps, it's the high speed package from Sympatico that we have. Actually, it's exactly the same service we used last time we had the internet. Apparently my Dad was getting billed for it all along, so it was either Bell would end up owing him money, or he could get the service again, with a couple months free The wireless network currently has no security (I'll worry about that after I figure out the current problem), and the SSID is "homenetwork" (great name, huh?), in case that's needed.

I've managed to get this far, but otherwise, I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to the networking side of computers, so hope someone here can help me Sorry if that's a bit confusing, or if I forgot to mention something, but provided I did, let me know, and I'll do my best to give you the information you need.

Edit: Now that I think of it, the first time when we actually managed to get a site to load on his computer, the wireless adapter was actually up on top of the desk, rather than hanging on the backside, like it was last time we tried it. Would the location of the thing make that much of a difference? I'd try putting it back on the desk right now, but he's gone to bed, as I plan on doing shortly as well. Just a thought that came to my mind

The closest thing I could to what you're looking for is right here. It's google's cached version of it, as that's the only way I could get it to load. Maybe you'll have more luck than I did in that direction, but that's beside the point.

You'll want to search for "Gameboy Advance Action Replay to RAW format" once the site loads, unless you really feel like scrolling through the whole page to find what you're looking for As it says, you need a program called "AR Crypt", and seeing as the link given in that page is dead, you can find it here. If that doesn't work, you could try searching for it on google, or I'd be happy to upload the copy I downloaded

It's not exactly a utility to convert the codes directly to raw addresses, but along with the documentation provided, it should hopefully be able to get you the results you need. Good luck

First of all, I'll say "problem solved". My Dad woke me up this morning wanting me to talk to someone on the phone. Said person told me "OK. So you're going to need to open Internet Explorer on this computer." That's not very helpful when I'm still half asleep, and the computer downstairs wasn't even on

Anyways, the main problem was the location of the wireless adapter. I moved it back on top of the desk after the guy on the phone asked me what type of adapter it was, then when he told me to open Internet Explorer, the homepage loaded fine I asked him if the location of the adapter would make any difference in things, and he told me that it could indeed. Nice to know now

The only remaining problem is the computer itself now, but according to my Dad, it works for what he wants it to do, and he's happy with that.

Thanks for trying to help emcee, even though we solved the problem before I even saw your post I appreciate it

The timer is simply for Xkeeper's birthday. Hovering your cursor over the "18" flag is a dead giveaway Nothing to really worry about.

As for when it ends, I assume the old banner will simply come back. It makes sense

Edit: Also, check the Craziness Domain. There's already a thread about it going there.

I'm pretty sure he did that himself. As for why he chose to do something like that, that's a question you'd have to ask him. It's not affecting the board in any way, so I see no problem with it, but that's my own personal opinion.

Anyways, the thread dealing with it is now trashed, here. Given that one didn't last a very long time, I doubt this one will, but we'll just have to wait and see.

You're mentioned once in it, but that's about it I plan on adding something for myself in eventually, but not quite yet

As for where everyone got their DS, I bought mine from Wal-Mart, with some of the money left to us by one of our uncles in his will. I've spent all of that now though. It's amazing how quickly $1800 can vanish

Then, I only found out recently that our grandpa left, to his grandkids, something like 10 percent of his estate. I figured it'd end up being about the same amount we got from our uncle ($2000), but I was wrong. Apparently, the base amount we're recieving is $12,000 My Dad mentioned something about another one of our uncles saying something to him about an extra $2000 being added on top of that for whatever reason.

His children (his = my grandpa) are getting closer to $60,000 though, as according to my Mom, she's giving half to my Dad, which is going to be around $30,000. He already owes me $2500, as just yesterday, I had to give him that exact amount out of my bank account, in order to pay for whatever needs to be done to fix our van. My current balance is all the way down to 500 something dollars now, so I really can't wait to get the money

Anyways, it's nearly 6:40 right now, and I have to be to work at 7 (for a closing shift, no less), so I'd better end this here

My brother is the worst for asking me to give him help with stuff involving games. Generally, whenever he gets a new game, he'll either play it about halfway through, or play until he reaches a part he can't figure out how to beat, and then he'll come straight to me asking me to look for either a walkthrough or action replay codes for whatever game it is

Other than that, the only time I really end up giving advice for whatever game, is when someone either begins a new game on one of mine, or buys a game I've played so many times I know inside out

Aside from that though, most avid video game players I know either don't like people to help them with their games, or they know how to look up whatever information they need theirselves.

The only time I've ever had to help someone (other than my brother) look up something game-related was in high school. There was a small group of people that, during lunchtime, preferred to sit in the library, and use the computers there to play GBA ROMs.

Unfortunately, when you're pretty much the only one in the entire school that knows where to find a GBA emulator, and the ROMs for it, you're not left with much choice. Add that to the fact that the networked drives for all the students were at most 25Mb, and the ROM pretty much everyone wanted to play (Golden Sun 2) was just about 12Mb, zipped, and things got rather frustrating sometimes

That's about all that comes to mind right now though.

I'm going to have to side with Thoughtless on this one. Here's the way I see it:

If you were able to lose the amount of weight you want to before your conference, and thus be able to impress the women there, or whatever you hope to do, everything would work out fine. However, after the conference, would you continue to make sure you don't gain weight again? Given the way you worded your post, I doubt it, but just in case, I apologize if I'm wrong about that.

I have no intention of insulting you by posting this next paragraph, so please don't take it as one. Anyways, allow me to ask this: before you found out about this conference, and that there would be "beautiful girls" there, were you overly concerned about your weight? If your answer to that question is "no", then I honestly find it rather amusing that you'd suddenly want to lose weight, when after the conference, things will likely just go back to normal.

However, if your answer is "yes", there's not much else I can say myself besides echoing what everyone else has posted. There isn't exactly a whole lot you can do in two days Just make sure to wear some good clothes, and be yourself. Chances are there's going to be at least one other person at the conference that's, well, larger than you, so just be happy you aren't in their shoes

Good luck anyways. Hopefully the conference goes well

I have to hear this song!

Try this link (it's a 65MB mp3 file). It's something I found in Shareaza, and left downloading while I was at work, it's finished now (obviously), and I think it sounds like it should, barring the fact that I've never heard it before It's the length you specified, and if that's any indication as to whether it's the proper file or not, the answer should be pretty obvious.

If that link doesn't work (if YouSendIt still keeps files for 7 days or 25 downloads, you hould be safe), send me a PM and we'll figure out some other way for you to listen to it

As for what you said, DahrkDaiz, I thought he knew you were doing it. I figured that of all the poeple to have changed the thread title, he'd have been the one It's going to be interesting seeing what happens when he gets back

Anyways, I haven't really touched StepMania since I installed SMOnline, so I've got no new screens to post right now. I can't think of anything else to say either, so I'll leave it at that for now.

I use both 1964 and Project64. The only reason there's two as opposed to one is that, to my experience, a game that doesn't work in 1964 will work in Project64, and the other way around.

However, one of the people in this house that uses the computer to play N64 ROMs (so between my brother, sister, and me) disabled the sound, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get it enabled again. I can't even access the audio config window through the menu It's easy enough to click the option for it, but nothing happens afterwards.

The only other N64 emulator on this computer is Nemu 64, but that's somewhere on my brother's desktop (his directory structure is a mess), and the only reason that was ever downloaded was because he wanted me to look for an N64 emulator that would play Paper Mario without the game rapidly flashing while walking around. I tried to convince him that was a plugin-related problem, but he wouldn't listen

Anyways, once again, Project64 and 1964 are the two I use right now, and I've yet to see anything that makes me want to download another emulator.

Woo. I finally managed to log into my account on SMOnline. I guess that's what I get for thinking all you needed to do was download and install the program

The first question I have is this: is it acceptable to login, choose your difficulty, and join a room right away, when nobody in said room even knows who you are? It may be a bit of a ridiculous question, but I'd feel awfully awkward doing so, and then getting asked "Who the heck are you?"

Anyways, good luck with that song, DahrkDaiz. I listened to the full thing while I was volunteering this afternoon, and heard the word "freckles", around the 11 minute mark, so if that's the part you're actually at, I imagine it'll take you a decent bit of time to finish yet

Supper's just about ready now though, and after that, I have to get ready for an 8 - 12 shift at work (thank goodness they're finally making them shorter for me), so that'll be it for the time being.
