There's bound to be others that aren't like Tetris (or games like it), but that's just one I could think of

By "Average IQ" I think it means for all the users on the board If you ask me, I'd say it simply goes by whatever new posts are made, decreasing the value if a... how to say this nicely... less than intelligent person posted, and increasing if a smart (smart sounding, at least) post was made.

However, that's just my guess. I can't see it keeping track of what it thinks each user's seperate IQ is, but it very well could. That's just what I think

It's a pity the site doesn't mention what songs are in the game, or if it's like StepMania, where you can "install" whatever songs you like (which I highly doubt is the case). Also, what's with the "Internet Explorer 5.0 or Higher" requirement? Even if we had a connection to the internet at home, I wouldn't want to install a game of that sort, where an internet connection is required to (presumably) download the songs Then again, it could just be one of the installation files that simply contains the necessary instructions to download the actual files needed to install the program Whatever the case, that is pretty funny. I can't see a whole lot of people wanting to play it so badly that they'd order the pad, but you never know

Anyways, I downloaded the StepMania 4.0 CVS yesterday, and installed it last night. After moving the Songs and Themes folders to the new directory, I uninstalled 3.9. I think that was a bad idea. Neither of the themes installed work (Techno Fiend 3: Eternity and A.O.I.), trying to get into the "Profiles" option gives me a slew of errors, then loads the menu, but the only thing that's accessible is the "Exit" option. Oh well. I guess that's part of having an unofficial version

I've seen a thread on that sim in particular where someone was like ZOMG I AAAA'D A 12!!!111. Oh, the humanity.

I can imagine, but for one thing, I had no idea anything of that sort had happened, and also, I hadn't touched that song since I was barely able to pass Standard with an A. Therefore, I can use the excuse that I didn't know about any of that, and that'll probably have been the last time I'll touch the song, as getting an AAA is about the best I can do right now, with a bit of difficulty.

It's snowing quite a bit outside right now, and a bit of talk is going around about the office closing for the day because of it (yes, there's that much), so for the time being, I'll end this here.

Whee. I blocked all images from i11.photobucket.com, so now the thread is somewhat readable, although the "Beta Force" image from Yoshi Dude's (I think) layout is covering up part of the textbox, as is an exclamation mark, a smiley, and blinking text that says "LOL ANNOYING" I imagine I'd be able to see more if I had the lololol window maximized, but I can't do that right now.

I vote for giving them death as soon as possible as well, although knowing it, something similar would just pop up in another thread

I'm going to leave it at that for now, as the blinking text is getting annoying, and it's only 10 minutes 'till 5. Let's hope the next page in this thread doesn't get sabotaged nearly as badly

Looking at the Demo Requirements page on Bioware's site only shows the requirements for Windows and Mac, so I'd say that right now, the answer to your question is "no". The best you could do right now is to find somewhere to get the full game, try it out for 10 minutes or so, and if you don't like the game, uninstall it.

Either that, or wait until you get a chance to use a Mac or a computer with Windows installed, and try it from there

I personally like the game quite a bit, but that's obviously no indication as to how much you would like it

Edit: Added one word. Doesn't make a very big difference, but will save some confusion.

I see something about progressing through six levels on the site, so that likely means that to beat the game you need to pass those six songs in succession, but then it goes on to say that in quick play mode, you can choose any song, thereby making me (at least) think that there are more than six songs in the whole game

Also, something didn't catch my eye on that page yesterday. It says that in quick play mode, you can choose a song and either difficulty. There are only two in the whole game? If that's true, I can see them as being along the lines of "Easy" and "Hard"

Now, along the lines of StepMania, I have a question. What option do I change so that I can choose one song to play, and see the result of that one song once I clear it, as opposed to having to play through 3, and get an average? I obviously found it before, but I can't a second time

There's also one other annoyance I ran into with the latest CVS build, that I'd like to see if other people using it have experienced as well. So far, it's only happened to me in one song, that being the newest one I've worked on making the steps for. I select it in the song list, press enter, then get a black screen. It stays that way for 10-20 seconds, then displays the "Get ready" type message, and immediately after that, says "Cleared", and goes back to the song selection menu

I've yet to try accessing it through the "Edit Songs" menu, but I can't yet see why that wouldn't work. It does make things awfully frustrating though, as from time to time, it's nice to play from the beginning to the end of whatever's been done so far, without doing so from inside the step editing screen.

Has that happened to anyone else, with one particular song?

Interesting what sort of stuff appears under the "See also" heading

Anyways, for us (being my brother, sister, and me), those things have always been a luxury of sorts. As in, we'd only get them on special occasions, such as when one of our birthdays were coming up, or our Mom had more money than normal left over after grocery shopping, or we bought them ourselves.

I've only ever had the chance to try a handful of flavors from the list on Wikipedia's page, those being the following:

:: Blueberry
:: Chocolate Chip
:: Frosted Blueberry
:: Frosted Chocolate Fudge
:: Frosted S'Mores

There was one other kind that had white frosting with sprinkles on top, but I can't remember the exact name right now. My favorite flavor from that list is Frosted S'Mores, mostly because it's the most recent kind I've eaten

As for what you said, Soliwork, I agree that they do look pretty sweet, but to my experience, at least, they don't taste that way It's too bad they don't sell them where you live. I'd personally say you're not missing out on too much, but I'm sure other people have different views

Overall, I don't mind them, but as I said, right now, I don't see them as anything special.

I'm going to say crispy, but not so much that if you were to bend a piece of it, it'd snap in half Just enough so that it's not soggy. By far my favorite way to eat bacon (aside from just eating it plain) is to toast two pieces of bread, and put either some slices of cheese, or peanut butter on them, then put the bacon on top of that. Second in line would be hamburgers

I actually don't eat bacon all that much (as half the time I want some, it's been eaten already), but it's nice to have from time to time.

Since we're discussing bacon what do those of you that have eaten it think of the stuff that's pre-cooked, so all you have to do is warm it up in the microwave? I don't like it at all. It's far too dry for my tastes. However, we've only ever had the stuff one or two times, so we may have just gotten a bad box, but I'll take bacon that needs to be fully cooked any day

I'm getting tired of seeing the word "bacon"

This is just one way I know of, but I'm sure there are others that aren't nearly as complicated. For now though, hopefully the following steps will help:

1) Click "Start", "Control Panel", make sure you're in the viewing mode where you can see each individual item (as opposed to being given categories to click on), and double-click "System".
2) In the window that opens up, you should be able to see a tab called "Hardware", but if not, simply look through all the tabs until you find a button labelled "Device Manager", and click it.
3) Once the Device Manager window opens, you should see an item near the bottom of the list labelled "Sound, video and game controllers", or something similar to that. Expand that item, by clicking the box beside it.
4) From the newly opened list, right-click each item, then choose "Properties". If the box that opens has a "Driver" tab, click it, then click the "Update Driver" button. Make sure the item you selected is the one that says something about sound.
5) In the window that opens, make sure the first option is selected, then click next. In the following step, you'll likely just want the Windows Update option to be checked. From there, click the Next button again, and Windows will search for possible driver updates.

From there, you should be able to update the drivers fairly easily, but in the event that Windows doesn't find anything, there's one other option you can try. Do a google search for the title of the window you opened in step 5, but with "driver update" added onto the end. In my case, I'd type "SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio Driver Update". The capitalization of the letters shouldn't matter. With luck, one of the results on the first page will lead you to a site that contains downloadable driver updates. Just make sure the update you choose is for Windows XP, and is for the sound device you have, or you may run into more problems than you're having right now

Sorry if all this seems rushed, but it's almost time for me to go home, so I wanted to finish this post before that time.

See this picture? Currently, my desktop wallpaper is set to the bottom-left one. Full size though, it's a full screen wallpaper, at 1280x1024 resolution, so it's obviously a lot bigger than it looks there

Most of the time I use wallpapers similar to that (not necessarily landscapes, but rather things that take up the full screen as opposed to tiling), and seeing as I've got no wallpapers that are meant to tile in the ~100MB folder of them (yes, there's that many), I don't give myself much of a choice

This one looks to have you beat That is not my desktop though. It's just something I found through a google image search.

My desktop is by no means clean in terms of the amount of icons on it, but they're spread around. Folders are in the top-right and along the right hand edge of the desktop, My Computer, My Documents, and Recycle Bin are in the top-left, one NES ROM is along the left hand side, with eight zip files below, and there's currently nothing in the bottom left. In the middle of the desktop, there are some folders that I use to sort stuff I download while I'm here during the day, so that I can more easily move them to the proper folders on the computer (mostly for ROMs and such), as well as a text file called "Stuff to Get". It's there for one reason. So my brother can list stuff he wants me to look for (such as a certain song, or a walkthrough for a game), without having to tell me directly. There's only one other thing I didn't list. Rainlendar (a calendar program) is in the top-right corner.

It's by no means anything special, but provided that this thread hasn't fallen too far down the list tomorrow, I'll post an acutal screenshot of it

Edit: I voted for "Generic pretty-design fullscreen wallpaper"

I looked through the entire options menu twice last night, and I found no mention of Event Mode, so for now, I've come to the conclusion that it's been removed from the CVS build for some odd reason I'm going to download the last released version of 3.9 today, which will hopefully fix the problems I've been having.

Anyways, I'll get the screenshots out of the way right now, but I'll say one thing first. Try to ignore the titlebar in each of the screenshots. All those simfiles were done by the same person, being Gitaroo Man. I was looking for the soundtrack (after reading that it was a must-have in the thread regarding the game), found simfiles under that author name on Bemanistyle, saw that they looked difficult, and downloaded them. I didn't find the soundtrack there, but I did find another site where I can get it (and a whole load of other game soundtracks I've been trying to find for a while now), so it worked out in the end

Anyways, I'll leave it at that for now, but I have a feeling there's something I'm forgetting, so I doubt this'll be my last post in this thread today.

I've been 21 for 9 days now, and I've been here since a month or so before I turned 19.

I don't drink, smoke, swear, and other stuff, so as you'd expect, I've been told a couple times that I don't act my age, for those reasons I honestly see no need to do any of those things, but it's annoying when people get after me for never going out to drink or anything

There's really nothing other than that to mention (at least that I can think of). I can't say I enjoy or hate being as old as I am either. It's not bad, but there are obviously some drawbacks to it

Posted on 12-21-05 05:41 PM, in Weirdest/Most revolting Pizza creation you've eaten Link
The most recent pizza I've eaten that I found to be revolting was from Dominos. I forget the exact name of it, but they actually gave it a name (like how one of their pizzas is called a Meatza), and from what I can remember it had something to do with hamburger. The crust had sesame seeds, of all things, all over it, and the actual pizza had bits of hamburger, onion, and cheese on it.

I don't know whether it was because I let the pizza get cold (as I'd ordered a second one of a different kind as well), or because of the onions (I don't like them), or something else, but it tasted absolutely horrible when I bit into it

Needless to say, I haven't ordered that pizza a second time yet I mostly prefer the kind with italian sausage, pepperoni, and cheese on it (possibly substituting ham or bacon for the pepperoni), but from time to time, I will try something different.

By far the pizza I eat most frequently comes from Little Caesars. It's the medium (I think) pizza, with only pepperoni as a topping, that you can get for $5.75 (at least here). It's quick, and relatively inexpensive whenever I'm hungry for pizza

To begin, no, I haven't been ignoring the discussion regarding Binary scores. I gave the song another try (well, a couple more tries) last night, and have managed to pass both you and Scatterheart / Scatt-Man. I'll let the screenshot speak for itself though. It can be seen here. Still nowhere close to getting a full combo, but not bad either. I've finally figured out a way through the several parts of the song with orange arrows (I can't remember what note they appear on), which helped quite a bit.

Now, I've got a whopping 22 screenshots today, so I'll get those done and over with. All except two of the simfiles were made by DJ Obvious (I downloaded all of his before I left yesterday). Some of them are fairly easy (9's and 10's), but I didn't realize they were rated that when I played them, as I was still using the default theme Anyways, here they are. One other note actually, I'm not going to specify "C400" in the links anymore. I think it's safe to assume that's the default speed I use, so from now on, I'll just specify different speeds

:: Binary; Challenge
:: Daikenkai (Angry Chipmunk Remix); Challenge

Way too many variations of Max songs if you ask me, but at the same time, I'm glad I downloaded all of them. The Wacko Reflex Mix is... awesome. Also, as you can probably tell, I did reinstall StepMania 3.9. I still had to look through the options menu a couple times, before I found where to turn Event Mode on, so it's very possible that it is in the CVS build, but I just missed it.

For now though, I've said all that I can think of, so I'll leave it at that.

My votes are going to all the games in the Megaman Battle Network series. My favorite out of those is Megaman Battle Network 2. When it comes to the series on a whole, I don't know what it is about them (possibly the story), but after playing one of the games for an hour or so, I find it hard to not pick up the game again within another hour. The reason the second game is my favorite is because it's not nearly as complex as the games that come after it (what with the addition of souls, tournaments and such), and other reasons that don't come to mind right now.

Actually, I'm not going to vote for Megaman Battle Network, as I can't stand that one. Doing stuff in the real world is alright, but having to navigate the different areas of the 'net (the ones numbered from 1 to 16) is horrible. The pinkish background, narrow paths, and all around design of the areas is just bad. Perhaps if I'd played that game first, as opposed to starting with the second one, I might think differently, but that's not the case.

On a completely unrelated note, the achievement I'm most proud of with those games is beating Megaman Battle Network 4 (either version) 3 times, within one day. That's using an emulator, so I can use savestates and cheats to set each virus's health to 1, but that aside, one playthrough takes me about two hours.

For the record, my votes are going towards the following:

:: Megaman Battle Network 2
:: Megaman Battle Network 3
:: Megaman Battle Network 4
:: Megaman Battle Network 5

That's about it

As for death songs, the only one I can think of right now is Rankatt's (well, Hiryuu's, I suppose) version of Hell Scaper, on Edit. It's fairly easy up 'till about 10 seconds before the end.

There's only one other thing I have to say right now, that being a question. It seems that with Event mode turned on, if you beat your previous best score on any song, a bit of text will appear on the result screen telling you so. Turning off Event mode seeminly disables that feature. What I want to know is if there's any way to have that feature enabled, but not have to have Event mode turned on. It'd be nice if there is, but if not, I'll do without it

That's all from me for now.

I have for as long as I can remember

I don't do it all that often presently (mostly when I'm nervous), but I haven't completely stopped yet. My parents have been trying for the longest time to get me to quit biting them. Their methods have gone from giving me $5 if I didn't bite my nails for a whole month, to buying a jar of some nail polish type liquid that, when spread on my nails, would keep me from biting them. It certainly did. The stuff tasted awful I can't remember why they stopped doing that (I suppose the nail polish stuff may have run out though), but they stopped doing that after a month or so, and went back to bribing me

In short, yes, I bite my nails, but not as much as I used to.

Don't feel too bad about it. I got the game about a week ago now, so I'm not all that great at it either. I've beaten both the 50 and 100CC completely (I think my best rank was one star), and I've put about an hour into working on 150 I watched the snaking tutorial video yesterday, and I just found a place to download it as well, so with luck I'll be able to get the hang of it tonight.

I'd very much like to try a race against any of you, but without an internet connection at home, I can't My PSP did pick up a wireless connection here (at the Heart and Stroke office), so I suppose I could try bringing my DS in and see if it works, but even if it worked, the only time I'd be able to play it would be when I was in the bathroom

I actually owe buying the game to my friend. He got a bunch of gift certificates for Christmas, and among them was about $200 worth of EB Games certificates. He bought a DS with those, as he wanted to get the Chihuahua version of Nintendogs, and when he noticed the pack that came with Mario Kart DS as well, he decided to get it. I was considering getting the game for a while before he bought it, and after getting to play it for a couple minutes on his DS, I decided to get it as soon as possible

We haven't played a whole lot of multiplayer so far (if my memory serves me correctly, we've done about 20 races), but by far the most amazing thing happened when me and my brother were playing the game (he doesn't own it, so we were limited to 8 tracks). I forget the exact name of the track but it was beach-like, with a big water area near the middle, with deep spots which you don't want to drive into. It was the third lap, and my brother (playing as Wario), and Donkey Kong were ahead of me, and I was in third place. Right at the finish line, I saw a blue shell heading towards us on the map. Seeing as Donkey Kong and my brother were close to each other, it hit them both, allowing me to pull ahead into first and win the race.

I'm definitely happy with the game, but I've definitely got a way to go before I can actually consider myself good at it

Bemanistyle has a section of their board dedicated to OSC's (which, to my understanding, stands for Original Step Contest) located here. Note that you have to be registered and logged in there before you can view the forum. I suspect that with a bit of poking around, you'll find an answer to your question, so hopefully that helps

I obviously played Stardust again last night, on Heavy. That was with the keyboard I'm not good at using. I got an A there, with 15 or so misses. I tried the song again this morning, with the keyboard I'm good with plugged in, and got an AA, full combo, with ~30 greats, and nothing worse. A screenshot can be seen here.

That's about all I have the time for (is anyone getting tired of hearing that yet? ) because it's 4:30 right now. Until tomorrow

I have to apologize for not replying in here for such a long time as well, but given that I was away for a week and a couple days due to Christmas and the New Year, I couldn't really help it

One main thing of interest right now is that I've gone from having one shift a week to 2. Last Friday, I had gone into the place, clocked in, and went to the back to check when I had to work next, and saw that I had been scheduled for next Friday and Saturday night, from 9 to 5 in the morning for both. Earl was nearby at the time, and saw me writing down my shifts, and asked me what I was doing, so I explained, and he told me the reason he gave me two shifts was because he'd seen some improvement in me (the only thing I've really improved in is the drive through, but it was his decision to make).

I have no problem staying up 'till that time. On New Year's eve, a friend of mine stayed the night at our house, and we were awake until 7:00 in the morning. The same thing goes for the next day. It's just the things that I have to do during the day that get everything messed up. This weekend, I have to work 9 to 5 on Friday. Saturday morning, I have to be up at 10:00, so I can eat breakfast and such, as I have to be at my band practice for 11:00. Given that I probably won't fall asleep after work until 7 or 8, I'll only get 2 or 3 hours of sleep. After my band practice, I plan on going home and sleeping, but by the time I wake up, it'll be 5 or 6 already, and to me, it seems like an incredible waste of time to have slept when I'd normally be awake and doing other things

Seeing that I'm starting to get a cold though, I might end up missing one of those shifts

Now, I would like to reply to each of your posts, but given that my Mom is here to pick me up, I have to leave for the day, so hopefully I'll be able to get to them tomorrow. Thank you for what you've said though
