| Well, that depends. My job is with design, not programming, and I told them about hacks I've done to correct what I considered to be design flaws in games (such as removing sprint shoes from FF6 and Gained JP Up from FFTactics - these things ended up *decreasing* player choice, thus making the game less fun). For a programmer position, they may be looking for more "official"-like credentials. | |||

| I really can't answer for how the hiring process works, sorry.
:-/ The best I can say is just to write letters to game companies regarding possible internships, and send them a resume and some of your work (if it's legal). Too many people believe game development is so impossible to get into that they don't even try. If you really have to know where I work, it's in my myspace profile, which is linked to in my profile on this board. Note: I'm not representing any company's position on any matter at all with this post. ![]() |

| Re: Making sacrifices: That is totally true. Work is my number one priority pretty much at all times, even when I'm off. And at the end of a project you will have no life whatsoever. I was working 60 to 80 hours a week for about two months straight. | |||

| My philosophy toward suicide has changed somewhat recently. I used to believe people should have the right to end their life whenever they want to, because heck, it's their life. But, now I'm pretty sure I was wrong about that, because it isn't just their life. That is, I cannot commit suicide, for example, because my life doesn't belong to just me, it belongs to all my family and friends as well. Even if I were miserable and truly believed I had to reason to want to go on, I couldn't take my life away from my friends, it's just be a jackass thing to do, regardless of how miserable I was.
As for samurai, honor is extremely important to me, and it's not difficult for me to imagine suicide as an honorable thing to do if you have been dishonorable/dishonored. When I quit my job about a year ago, without a backup job in place, I felt that I had dishonored my roommates, and so I vowed not to eat anything I couldn't personally afford (that is, don't eat anything I didn't buy, don't allow others to buy me food) until I got another job. I ended up eating a lot of ramen, and then a lot of nothing, but I felt it was something I had to do. If the dishonor is great enough, suicide as an honorable thing is something I can agree with entirely. |

| 1. Are you happy with your weight?
No. I used to be incredibly underweight (fluctuating between 120 and 130 lbs... I'm 5'11"), but I seem to be making my way up for the first time ever. I weigh 140 lbs now, which is still underweight, but it's the most I've ever weighed (I'm 23 years old). 2. If you're not happy with your weight, what are you doing to change (gain, lose) weight? I eat about twice as much as the average 23 year old. This has always been the case, but only recently does it seem to be finally having an effect. 3. If you are happy with your weight, what (if anything) are you doing to maintain it? N/A 4. Are you happy with your body (regardless of weight)? I'd like to be more muscular, but building muscle has generally been impossible since all my life I've struggled to keep what little weight I've had. Hopefully this is also changing. |

| So do the BP interfere with anything else now that they don't use SP memory? Or are they their own thing now? | |||

| To be more precise; hex is just a more friendly way of looking at binary. And code and data are not the same thing - although you can hack ASM in a hex-editor, it doesn't follow that changing bytes in a hex-editor is ASM hacking. | |||

| You have it good, man. It seems like she likes you and is willing to be with you, even after you "freaked out". I say kiss her next time, but be honest with her that you're nervous and everything. She'll probably teach you what you need to know, and it won't be so bad.
One thing that disturbs me, however... "and of course she has that "Chris" who she is breaking up with..." does that mean she hasn't broken up with him yet? |

| So... I tried to put my pin at Bothell Washington, and it put me in western Montana...
So I deleted that one and tried again, and this time it refused to place my pin at all. |

| You click on the pin you just placed and there should be a "Delete Entry" option at the bottom next to the "Return" option. I did it right after placing mine. | |||

| I voted "Other", because I wouldn't do anything spectacular for $1,000, it just wouldn't be worth it.
But I'm also in Washington state, where $1,000 doesn't get you jack pickle. |

| So I wanna get the soundtrack. The odd thing is Lik-sang.com has it listed twice.
I've seen this one elsewhere, so I'm pretty sure this is the soundtrack... http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=264&products_id=8433& But they also have this one, which is listed at a lower price... http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=264&products_id=7961 So my question is... WTF? |
