I know this game is well not mentioned in the list of rom hacking, but have there been any other ideas regarding the wearabouts of this game and sutff having to be edited and stuff, just wondering?

Seconded.

Always nice to see a fellow Dragon Warrior fan Have fun. the game's well documented. I look forward to anything that doesn't suck.

Well it is just that I am also exploreing in hacking DW 2/3/4 as well, but I dout anyone has gotten the chance to look into those games pretty much besides minor text and pattern editing really, besides I just hope there is going to be more people working on making new worlds out of this.

-Convert scenery palettes to TLP/YY-Char format... Save them, of course
-Decompress scenery graphics into GFX files that can be easily edited in your favorite tile editor
-Edit tile tables (ie- slect which 8x8 tiles make up the 16x16's, plus which palette, orientation, priority they have)
-Partial support for editing save/load stations
-Lots of other smaller features and bug fixes

This version is a lot more stable than past versions, but I do remind people to back up your hacks often.

GET IT HERE

One problem when I run the program, I get a fatal error that displays this,

Run-time error '9':

Subscript out of range

has anyone here gotten this?

Well to basically say this, after I open the Rom then slecet the address to enter that part of the Rom, that Run-time error occors, likely a Visual Basic Rendering issue that it is having issues with.

Well I have tested it out, but it seems Windows refuses to do the command correctory and keeps giving me a message that keeps saying "is not recognized as an internal or external command"

Or am I doing this whole thing wrong, such as I have to create a notepad file in order to for the decomp.exe program to read the directory?

Zsnes and snes9x can decompress the graphics, why is it impossible to build some kind of decompressor based on that technology? I'm not complaining, I'm just curious.

Thank you, anyway. You've actually found it and that should be worth something, right?

Problem, the latest SNES 9X emulator will not Support Sim City and Crashes the program when ever it is loaded, do you think it has something to do with the compression on it is very impossible to debug on it because of the Functions of the game possibly?

Reason I ask this is well will there even be some emulator that will support the same features like the NES which has the Name Table header and Pattern Table header soon, or is it going to be impossible because of the Compression types on the SNES Consule and the programming that can not be traced or will not be cracked because it is using too much advancement in the programming?

No$GMB, minus the bugs (which there's quite a few of) is an excellent example of how a debugger should be interface-wise.

Well at least someone here managed to get the right issue here, since even though Sim City 2000 works, the Oringinal Sim City does NOT work, and well after loading it causes the program to crash because of problems loading the decompression unit and the Header issue as well.

GSDep9r8, Snes9x Version 1.43.

Why are you acting like one unrelated thing Hyperhacker said is validating some problem you have? For reference I'm running Win98 SE, with an Athlon 3000XP, 512MB RAM, etc.

Seeing you are a bit upset at me for it, here is the crash log when I tried to load the game,

Well that is up to you of coruse, but of coruse Geiger would tell me to just downgrade to Windows 9X or 98 SE in order to get it working again, just because it has problems with those who have Windows 2000 or XP because diffrent runtime files that apparently have alot of conflicts.

I'm afraid i can't compete with your hack . Btw, any estimate about the release date? Aw, more screenies, please

Edit: Would people actually be interested that i support Dragon Quest? I think it's inferior in every way to the US version, but who knows.

Why yes, seeing that I am one of those fans right here, and besides that a good editor would be promising of coruse for all DW/DQ games.

I usually thought that this issue would also purge inactive accounts and delete them/log them out, I usually thought it is that, basically a standard and stuff.

Ok Guys, I wanted to know on something, has anyone here been doing a thing called font hacking(meaning changing the font style in diffrent and multiple games), to eaither look good or to make it rather interesting enough to view, have you guys ever done that with many of the games you have hacked?

Well a little tip, if you can, download a program called YY-CHR, that works alot better in terms of adding font data and stuff for hacking of coruse, besides I know that quite a few gams out there may not use all that much data,

But I can garntee that on the NES roms if there is free space that has no data what so ever in that area and I mean a full blank area, then that would be your best bet, besides I found at least 6 areas of the rom that had blank data on Gauntlet 2, meaning it is not used by the game, but that is the advice I can add for now.

Well at least I keep a backup record of fonts in a BMP file, that is pretty much what I do, just in case I need to change them back of coruse the only thing about it, seeing what fonts seem to look better in my openion, well there is alot of things, or specifically for example replace FF1's font on the NES and replace them to the Dragon Warrior Font, and of coruse it makes it some what odd, but good enough in some style.

Well I hope it is legal to say that.

I know it has not been brought up, but I need to know what games or SNES specific Address bank formats like HI-rom don't read or accept re-writing of the address such as cheat codes?
