| This is the most awsome looking hack, but instead of the kuribo shoe just being able to withstand lava, mabey make a fire suit that has no powers other than to stand in lava, or mabey swim in lava XD I dunno that seems stupid though. | I do beileve that many places spilt and form new areas, such as SSRG, place for classic sonic hacks, and well here at acmlm you have the mario bros hacking areas.
But I suppose zophars domain holds a lot for roms. I dunno it just depends where you can get the patches, quite honestly, but if you want to try and make an area for all types of hacks, then good luck, I was thinking of starting one, but I am still hesitant about it... It takes a lot of time, something I don't have all the time. anyways I really can't help you in the other departments. you just basically put up your rom on message boards (pic's features and such) and link to a download area. only some people who have a lot of time make giant sites devoted to downloading hacks, as I said I will try to gather a collection of patches of all sorts. can't say it will be now or soon, but I am going to see about it, just look around on the net and on zophars domain, o.o mabey by 2007 I could have a really active site, but not so active that bandwith skyrockets. distinctly why people use patches instead of roms. |

| well in america, the only good thing that has seemed to happen about laws, you can have whatever you want on a website. legally.
Besides the only turely illegal thing about anything on the computer is making illegal flash cart copies or fake copies and selling them to people. aka Pirates, who usually remove logos and such. |

| at points when playing, the game seems to weird out and make the background flash infront of the other things on screen, it is really annoying, Is there any reason why its doing this, I am using Project 64 version 1.6 I think its probly the rom but I just want to know if its the emulator for once. I think its most likley a bad dump. only other game I have had problems with is donkey kong 64 the textures messed up much like the bloopers on shrek where they strech away from the character.
In further detail of the Paper Mario problem, the background will flash infront of everything and between there is no background for when the background isn't flashing in the front. |

| I might change the plug in, for some reason I also have the same problem on Mario RPG and Mario and Luigi super star saga, on the RPG game sprites blink, same for super star saga, I have had no problem with any other roms, other than I can't find a way to seperate my mario bros and duck hunt rom... (anyone have a patch for that?)
It seems that the mario RPG roms just have some problems with them... I use ZSNES and have had no other problem with any other roms, even mario kart works pretty well. if anyone knows of any patches that can fix that or tell me the problem that could be occuring in my emulator (I use Visual Boy Advance for GBA roms) |

| well as I said before Its only for those mario RPGS that they don't run correctly, but then again I already have beaten mario and luigi 2 times on my regular GBA I wanted to hack it but the sprites have some weird compression format, I honestly think it was the site I got them from because other roms give me no trouble at all, but let it be a mario rpg rom and the emulators weird out. | |||

| ok, I want to hack the pallets so I can make better graphics, I know how to do this for GBA really well and GB GBC so forth, but I can't hack the nes pallets because I don't know the Hex for it, does anyone have a program or something that shows all the possible combinations?
I know all colors aren't supported in that system... thats one of my problems at the second as well. that and other programs like that so people know whats capable for other systems. I would appreciate atleast the nes one for a hack I am doing. |

| well, if knuckles and sonic could pair up that would require being able to make knuckles not act as stupid as tails, not to mention the whole how would knuckles get back to sonic thing, that would be pretty glitchy.
Yes the sonic hacking area is very much alive, but now hacks are expected to have ASM now. stephens project chaos... that looks freaking awsome. |

| well technically the point of this hack was just to finally show that he was getting back to all the work he had lost, its not perfect yet and tails has hardly any tail animation for standing still(and other various frames)... just wait a little while this is just a preview hack. with alittle bit more pallet correcting, (which is technically sprite editting in this area...) this hack will be very good once its near its finishing stages. | |||

| does that include the fact that distributing stuff like music and movies on the internet is illegal? because most of the things about legallty involve people making copies and making money on stuff... same with roms, you know pirates, they do the most illegal things, quite technically you think the government gives a crap about some mere little bytes? they can't really get you for anything unless you put them on carts make your own art, sell the carts and stuff in a semi real looking box, then throw all that into a blender after getting money and... you got illegalty, because they like to remove logo's and such, something that just seems really stupid and easy.
Basically Roms are "Illegal" drinking and drivings illegal, as much as I see it Roms aren't going to get your girlfriend pregnant, get you thrown into jail... unless your selling them and making money, same for distributing mp3's and stuff, if they don't want us distributing the stuff... why make it so easy to rip them from CD's?... If you ask me, its the government's fault, oh well if anything like that becomes legal I will go to washington D.C. and dance on the white house lawn naked, same for if america changes its TV standards... like censoring the word hell... and editting anime... if you ask me thats illegal, but anywho Just keep the roms on your computer unless you try to sell them, (same with music and vid's) then thats the only way you can get thrown in jail... making a copy of something for your friends totally legal, big whoop if some little parchment of paper says its illegal, drinking and drivings illegal, is that stopping the people who do it? driving over the speed limit, illegal, people still do it... so if you ask me these disscussions should stop... |

| I for one know that roms are in the aspect of illegalty, but still, a common hobby, thousands of rom sites and hacking sites, if the government wants to waste time stopping bytes of games going through computers, then that would take a really really really... long time...
Far as I see it, You can own any game you want, you can let friends borrow the games, and so on and so fourth, whoop de do... on the other hand, roms just provide the ability to see what its like to make games, to hack roms isn't really considered legal at all, but not many people know what roms are, I could litterally talk to a police man and he wouldn't know most likley, if you ask me the government is more conserned with making our lives misserable, and putting people behind bars that are doing illegal things that are noticable, I don't think your going to be arrested because you downloaded a rom, and you aren't going to be arrested if you use a flash cart, or anything of sorts that are in that area, unless you are selling fake copies of the games, or pirating them and selling them as well, which is removing logos or making new games and claming them to be, real games... If you are worried abour the legalty of roms, you don't need to lie awake at night and wonder, these are mere copies of games that you can easily buy (GBA,DS,PS2,XBOX(360),GC) and ones that you can't, (NES, GENS, ect.) as far as I see it, hacking roms isn't anything illegal unless you are trying to pass it off as your own game fully, this is why sonic rom hackers and other hackers put the date of the original game's creation, and the original creators... rather than saying its theres fully. Little bytes that can be sent through the internet isn't visual, its virtual, I don't think anyone is going to be arrested for hacking roms or having them, I have had roms on my computers since I was 8 years old, and no one has said a thing about it... Sites that have roms, they can have them on there sites if they are allowed to, like countries where its rare to see a computer, I recall some fake incidents that are jokes saying that nintendo or sega told them to remove there sites... Other things are usually not true, if a game has been made, and you can't "buy" it, then it probly is more legal than having the game and you can buy it, ebay isn't an actual walk in store. So just hack roms, no one is going to know unless you say, "I hack roms." everyone I talk to about them, they are 90% likley to not know what they are... Roms, are illegal... but not many people care about there games being on the internet, some roms I just use as an advantage to see what the game was like, I don't have a lot of money to waste on games I know I wont like, and using the internet I can try the games out... or hack them to make things the way I want to see them, I can garentee Nintendo or SEGA are going to tell you to stop hacking thier games, and IPS patches are legal, another thing a lot of people don't know are... if people don't know about it, how can it be illegal? and another thing Everythings Legal till you get caught, I don't think this is one of those getting caught scenarios... So in conclusion Go ahead download roms Go ahead Hack roms Go ahead Make IPS patches there is a few percent chance you will be caught for doing so, and if you are caught, then you must've tried really hard... |
