Does anyone know if there has been a hack of A Link To the Past for the GBA that replaces the Snes sprites with the GBA sprites (e.g. Minish Cap/Four Swords)?

When I saw the video it was pretty funny but I'm wondering if anyone actually knows how to hack Budokai 3 as in putting in different coding from Budokai 2 or even 1.

First off don't start talking about an already iffy topic with an "They said they, I think, put the 2 discs into a PC, took data from Budokai 2 into Budokai 3 carefully to make it work."

Either they did or photochoped the crap out of it.

The reason why I said, I think, was because I couldn't remember exactly what they wrote and I'm too lazy to go back and check. They have a topic on GameFAQs that somewhat explains how they did it.

Second is that Budokai 3 is in 3 different languages and the video is choped so one segment is in JAP and the next shot of the same segment is in ENG. Just how many formats of the game are nesessary to compile such a hack? I mean, I know the US/C format has both ENG\JAP but what's the french version for?

They are using PAL or different people/person did different hacks on different versions of the game: USA, PAL, JAP and they just took what they did on the different versions and spliced it together in one video.

Unless someone is able to come up with some SOLID proof, it will be remembered as the video someone took along time to make. Much like the Mario 3 beat'n in like 9 mins. Which was fake BTW.

Does this count as any?

http://foro.latrifuerza.com/viewtopic.php?t=1182&highlight=d%20ragon+ball+++budokai+++projecto

It's in Spanish and I had Google try and translate but it's pretty crappy:

http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fforo.latrifuerza.com%2Fviewtopic.php%3Ft%3D1182%26highlight%3Dd%2520ragon%2Bball%2B%2B%2Bbudokai%2B%2B%2Bprojecto&langpair=es%7Cen&hl=en&safe=off&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools

Then again I'm sure all of you looking at the screenshots will all be like "OMG it's not haxed itz all photoshopped U idiot!!!1111"

I don't know what I'd need proof of. Hmm, the best would be hack it on my own. I would, seriously, but I'd need a mod chip, different versions of B2 and B3 (I could just download torrents I'm sure), a DVD burner, and of course a PS2.

Hey thanks for the link for someone a little earlier AIMed it to me. Well I'm glad I could get a chance to browse the topic again to go over it and whatnot. So yeah, thanks for the help.

Or maybe it got #IFDEF DEBUG'd out of the final version. Only one way to find out.

Are you talking about getting the Debug Menu to work? If so, from I'm just read and understood, there's an already made code for it to activate during a battle. Unless you mean have the Debug Menu pop up somewhere else or something.

Um, is this for a hack version of the game or just regular help? If it's just regular help, then you are in the WRONG forum, yo.

Is it possible to do that? Like take the Mario model from SSB64 and put it in SM64? Something as in taking the coding using a hex editor and replacing it with another coding of a different model? Or is that too complicated, can't be done, different coding, etc...mumbo jumbo.

True but what if the code for the model is larger then the other one? Would you need to expand the Rom for it to fit?

You mention swapping around with Perfect Dark and Goldeneye Roms. But isn't the reason you could swap with each other's code is because they were built using the same engine?

No, I'm not talking about the Debug Menu or the Debug Room. This probably doesn't seem like much but it's interesting. Here's a screenshot from the video I saw it from:

On the top left corner, it shows numbers of something. On the bottom left, it has a number(s) there for some reason. And also the area looks like it's been messed up or something. The video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-763783870925655347&q=killer+instinct is on google and skip to 9:58 in the video and you'll see it for a brief moment. It seems interesting. With the Debug Menu and Room still left in the game, it's pretty possible that this is also in the game as well.

On a sidenote, skip to 10:01 and you can actually see what Bowser's Posion Gas look like before they changed it!

Apparently several gas clouds would drift by and the screen would have an over-green color overhead.

On another sidenote, skip to 10:28 and you'll see an early look to Geno's Geno Flash attack.

As you can see, he transforms into the cannon but doesn't move to the back of the battle arena and also the explosion or sun has different eyes and has a rainbow color instead of a orange/red color.

Posted on 07-03-06 04:27 AM, in Possible to Expand SMRPG Rom? Link
I was wondering if it was possible to expand the size of the Rom from like 32 to 48. I tried using Lunar Expand but in the readme it said that any game using a chip, SMRPG uses the Super FX chip or something doesn't it?, and so I kinda ran into some trouble for the expansion. Does anyone know any other way for expansion?

I'm to lazy to look at the file but I think I've seen it already. I thought this was a cool tool then realized I needed Phantasy Star Online to use it. I have the Broadband Adapater and a router to hook up my GCN to my computer but I didn't have PSO. So if that was the same thing I tried, you'll need the BBA, PSO, and a router.

Well of course it's suppose to cut off, obviously, because it'd be a waste of space to add anymore detail because you'd never see it. But still this is a pretty neat find.

Posted on 09-05-06 09:53 PM, in Which Has Better GFX? SNES or GBA? Link
My friend tells me that the GBA can put out better quality then the SNES. He says like "Look at Minish Cap and Link to the Past, MC looks waaay better!". Then I tell him "That's because its a newer game so they can draw better sprites!". Then he says "So, look at Golden Sun compared to Super Mario RPG. Golden Sun on the SNES would look like crap." Then I said "You're in idiot! Look at Donkey Kong Country on the SNES compared to the GBA version, the SNES looks better though the GBA is pretty darn close." Then he just says "Whoopie" and he shuts up. He says that the GBA is 32 bit while the SNES is 16 bit. So can someone tell me that the SNES has better quality then the GBA?

Huh, I always thought the GBA couldn't use polygons so I thought a GBA port of Star Fox wouldn't be possible. So the GBA is capable of using 3D polygons? From the hardware itself or, I doubt, something inside the games like the FX chips?

How about something with Super Mario RPG? I've only done a gfx/text hack but I want to do more with ASM with the game.

Don't mean to be pushy or anything, just anxious to know how far in progress it is. I know you must of a lot of things to do or maybe it's just a lack of interest or just taking a long time, whatever. I, and some other peple, are just curious on how's it going. Even if it's been dropped or canceled, oh well, no harm done.
