Nice job.
I say you should update Ailure though...
Way to go, only person to notice so far

Ailure is indeed very outdated (based on the old placeholders) and I fully plan on updating him soon. He might just take longer because... well, he's a furry bastard.

(as opposed to human scum, that is)

Actually, I am on break (trying to avoid here for a while to do other things, like rpgimg)... which is why I promoted Ailure at first, anyway.

And you can add another person, Toxic leaving too due to being so inactive lately...

Oh well, hopefully no one else leaves lately.

A few hours today (got home 4 PM, probably worked on it until about 5:30 to 6) but I worked on the engine itself yesterday (made it partially MYSQL-ran)...

the improved weather effects, like the new rain, was all done today... it used to just copy another PNG file over it -- example, for "fog", the only weather effect before today, fog.png -- but now it loads another script to generate the weather and pastes it over the image after rendering everything that isn't text or boxes... I might even make a "snow" effect, for the sheer reason of doing so (but it seems better to just make a new backdrop for that, as well, since it tends to cover things)...

I might make the monsters MySQL'd too later, and mabye work on actual systems to control turns and such (or at least, select them).

Before you ask, no, I can't incorperate it into this system on the board; I tried that, yesterday, and couldn't get anywhere.

I think, instead, we'll just replace 'needed' staff (Ziff's leaving, and we need a mod for debate -- don't ask) and see how well we handle it.

Though yes, less staff generally does mean less problems, and I'd like to keep it smaller... the only problem is that I had to take it this way, and it's extremely difficult to just look at someone and say "You won't be staff anymore" without any sort of reason other than "having too much staff". Most people wouldn't take that well, but I suppose I might start asking some more inactive staff members to reconsider if it turns out we can handle smaller staff (which I'm fairly sure of, anyway.)

Returning this board to smaller staff sizes and adding in a "Flag Post" feature would be nice, too, as it would alert mods to specific problems instead of having to patrol all forums.

Note to self: Consider "Flag Post" feature...

Well, I did some thinking (probably why my head hurts, heh) tonight along with someone else, and yes, we could potentially drop quite a few staff members, mostly out of sheer inactivity.

- Kasumi Astra, though I'd keep her as LM-o-nothin'... inactive
- BMF54123, back to local of ROM hacking and friends... accidental promotion*
- Melvin, to normal user... inactive, though he might come back soon
- DahrkDaiz, to LM or demoted**... inactive
- Kirbynite, to local of SF... inactive everywhere else
- Staff clones, because they serve no purpose
- Imajin, to normal user***... mixed reasons
- Dex, demoted... inactive
- Jack-Al, demoted...seems to show up occasionally but never posts or talks in staff forums
- MouseJstr, demoted... he has nothing to do with the board

Even just this list alone lowers the rank of 25% of staff now, taking 12%~ off staff entirely... I might bring this up in staff forums now to see what others think, but... these aren't all going to happen (and all at once), but mostly to see how few staff we can get by with. Less staff generally means less drama and less bickering amongst them.

I think the addition of a 'Flag Post' feature -- as some other boards have -- would help 'patrol' the whole board by fewer people, as we wouldn't need seperate mods for every forum anymore; any mod could check up on flagged posts and report them (or act on them) as nessacary... and we could always ban people who abuse the system

* I promoted him during the final days of the more recent board
** Might get other forum like General Gaming (DDR threads), but... other than that, never really talks about things in staff forums or even posts much lately
*** Or more forums, as I still think Imajin is as mature as someone four times older than he is, and is responsible

Red names are just my way of saying "this guy seems suspicious" but it wore off after the original dipshit got caught.

(e.g. red names can be ignored, now)

I don't even like applications anyway; I'd rather just ask someone I trust and who would probably do a good job if they'd like the position. Applications -- especially the way they were done here -- were based off of who could write the best "mod me for these reasons," almost nothing else was considered aside from how many people you could get to say "recommend me plz."

Besides, we're in the middle of a staff downsizing, so... yeah.
