What needs to be done is to make the text not show up in certian peoples' layouts, and/or give the spoiler boxes a specific class with the user ID attatched so they can be customized.

NSNick requested it and I figured, "why not"? So I did.

I don't know why it shows up in some layouts, but I think I fixed the problem I'm guessing its their overwriting of the "fonts" class, which the spoiler tag uses. I added another font tag to set the color to black afterwards, so...

I don't really like the idea of making custom spoiler tags for IDs, and I don't even think the current post's user is accessible anywhere near where the code is... nope, it isn't (I just checked) so I'd be looking at doing a lot of extra work to make it available in those areas.

Glyph: I don't see how it'd attract a lot of spam, considering that all it is is just another small change to a tag already used it's not like it breaks a plain [spoiler] (though why would it? heh)...

I just see it being abused (like everything else at the start)...

Ailure: Ha, ha. I didn't kill tuna, I ate it! ...

I'm inclined to agree with Stalle.. _¬

To sum up what I said elsewhere:

I think the lack of smiling and more of a sort "meh." expression in the first picture kind of ruins it, but then again I look like that in all of my photos too (I'm not a good picture person, as I'm sure people have noticed on occasion)

I'd have to say I like that shirt, though...

Eh, it's kinda better disabled. Googlebots don't waste everyone's bandwidth downloading their layouts, for one. Sometimes I'd browse at school and always was glad guests had layouts off, because I didn't have to log in and change my settings to turn them off. Those computers were much too slow and some layouts back then were much too NSFW for them to be turned on. I'm sure other people are still in the same position.

Post layouts are a distinctive feature of this site and keeping them may attract new members.
If the default is changed, a fast layout toggle could be added that works for guests. It could even default to off for known bots.

EDIT: BTW: Avatar upload is still disabled. I edited my profile and it disappeared.

I was thinking the same thing; it wouldn't be hard to make a temporary cookie to override the guest default setting.

I think MathOnNapkin's post pretty much sums up that global warming is bullshit.

Of course, I'm not against cutting back on pollution, either...

I have no idea what it is you're trying to do -- do you just want things like "november 2006" to be images, or something else?

(Generally, however, I'm really bad at figuring things out unless I have a copy of the code in front of my face, so..)

Now I wonder how many of my posts were illegitimate posts like "daldbhdblkashdb testing" or something...

I should really exclude myself from the ACS or at least try to keep all of my general bullshit to another dedicated test account, or something..

To be brutally honest, I couldn't figure out what that was a picture of until a few minutes ago... and yes, I know now that it's a picture of stairs.

I'm also having problems determining if this is actual art or a photograph, so you could gain points for your realism if it is just artwork and not a picture... but I notice that the handrail, especially towards the top, ceases to exist being anything but a large white bar...

The total lack of color (minus a little red tint, I see) doesn't help either.

Yarx: I did it once (November 2005), the board kind of self-destructed by itself (I had nothing to do with it) around 3/14/04...

Colin: The "total waste" is just the size of the posts_text "text" field, not actual waste, but it is a lot easier than saying "total size of the `text` field in `posts_text`"... and as someone corrected me in IRC, it isn't really that inaccurate _¬

I can make it show up for whoever wants it, but this is basically it right here:

*Xkeeper rolls his eyes

Sony's batteries have been exploding all over the place in many laptops, not just Dell's.

The only reason the Dell laptops are exploding left and right is because of a very simple little detail: Dell is stupid. They place the battery pretty much right next to the CPU, so you have the two largest heat generators side-by-side. Very stupid.

And remember, like I said -- there's no proof at all right now that the Xbox did this -- they're even saying that it wasn't a powercord-recalled model, meaning that they have about zip nil chance of winning this lawsuit.

That, and when's the last time that a game console has spontaneously combust (not counting the faulty Xboxes -- I mean systems that don't have an inbuilt chance of exploding), when off? I hear about them when you turn it on, but if this is to be believed, the console wasn't touched.

Not to mention as others have said, it's always a possibility that these people were leaving it around without ventailation causing overheating, but even then, unless the console was actually powered on or had a severe fault, it isn't likely.

It could be that the German translation isn't complete, or wrong -- you should check to see if there's any holes in the translation first.

Hapi-San: Jesus christ! This makes me wish that the ROM hacking community here had a few of your heads... but then again, Sonic is pretty versitale in this route, since there's a lot of things to be had from later sequels on the same machine. Very good job, though, and I can't wait to see more!

Sonicandtails: The SMW SuperFX thing is nothing, yet. It doesn't change the game in monumental ways, it just makes Mario transparent. In other words, it could be nice, but at the moment it's fucking lame.

SWR: As I've occasionally said in IRC, just keep it up Seems to be turning out well. I wonder if SMAS SMB will turn into the new SMW for hacking..? Probably not (considering all the limitations of the SMB engine; sigh), but it's interesting to think about...

Kyoufu Kawa: Learn how to use layers. Seriously, even two or three layers (background, background 2, foreground) would make a monumental difference in the portability and ease of using your graphics... I see about 6 copies of the staircase in that screenshot, and it could easily be reduced to two or even one with layers.

My guess is you'd have to find, in the main PHP layout file, the text "Archives" -- it'd help to include some of the actual source in the HTML too (just a the tags immediately left/right of it, for example) to narrow it down.

After that, finding the code that actually generates links would probably be nearby or trackable via a varaible it uses...

Again, it'd be a lot easier if I had whatever code you're using behind this.
