As long as you're messing with this stuff, maybe you can put the apostrophe on the right side of the s in "Officer's Club".

You know, there are services that monitor retail sites and tell you when a Wii is available. Then you just go to the site and buy it. All while being inside.

Hey, this was a lighthearted debate about war, politics, capital punishment and public torture. Let's not have it turn ugly by bringing in competing game consoles.

I've noticed people who drink a lot of diet pop get desensitized to the nastiness. To the point where they either don't notice the difference, or actually prefer it.

Bad taste is your brains way of telling you not to eat or drink something. I guess after awhile it realizes you aren't listening and gives up.

I'd say Policemen's Ball, or to describe it as a type of ball, then Policeman Ball.

But that just sounds weird.

Well in that case it does describe the type, boys being the type of soccer. So I guess officers without the apostrophe would make sense that way. The only way that doesn't make sense is the way it is.

And yes, I know this is very trivial.

If you can run a speaker from your computer to your headboard or nightstand, it can wake you up without being loud enough wake the rest of the household. Plus, you would still have to walk across the room to shut it off.

Kind of like another I say that someone made, it shoots out a ping-pong ball, and won't shut off until he retrieves it and puts it back in. Apparently, he outsmarted himself by buying a pack of ping-pong balls to set next to his bed.

I used to do this kind of stuff when I was younger, although I didn't know it was an actual established discipline or sport of any kind, so I didn't call it any special name like, parkour or tricking or anything like that. My Grandpa had a pretty creative name for it though, he called it "being a damn fool."

I never saw what the big draw is with the ipod. It really doesn't do anything all the other mp3/video players can't do. Besides just being trendy.

The specs for that board says it supports PC2100 (DDR266), PC2700 (DDR333) and PC3200 (DDR400) DDR SDRAM DIMM ram. So I guess one of those.

When you don't have the specs, an easy way to find out what ram you need is to use Crucial's memory advisor tool. Then just buy it somewhere else, because crucial will gouge you.

Also, religious ideals permeate every aspect of modern western states. You might as well come to terms with that, since it has been the case for centuries. What most non religious people would call "common sense" or "common laws" or "respect for fellow man" are in fact based on religious ideals. Many laws in the US come, however indirectly, from Christianity, because most immigrants to the US were Christian Europeans, and Europe was a largely Christian place because of the adoption of Christianity by the Romans before their collapse. I have no problem with atheists. I do, however, have a problem with atheists who can't comprehend the Christian based history of most of the west, and seem to think that their "secular modern values" simply sprang out of thin air rather than gradually evolving from Christian ethics.

I think you're confusing your morals and ethics here. Basic concepts of right and wrong predate Christianity.

Look at the Ten Commandments. Not only do they predate Christianity, the same teachings can be found throughout the Qur'an.

Besides, Abrahamic religions, the scriptures Dharmic religions also stress basic concepts of right and wrong, such as don't steal or murder.

Beyond that, many ethical concepts that are notably absent from Hebrew teachings, but present in Hindu (such as ethical treatment of women), have in recent history made their way into Western law, not because they're tenets of Hindu, but because they're right.

There is some gray area between morals and ethics, but not much. Ethics are human ideals, not religious. Basing laws on religion is as bad for religion as it is for government. People need to adhere to the tenets of their religion because of their love and faith in their god(s), not because the government told them to.

edit: Their, not there.

Those on minimum wage make such a small percent of the total money earned, that a 40% or so increase in their wages should have little effect on prices when compared to most other factors.

Inflation has outpaced the minimum wage since the sixties.

I'm all for the legalization of marijuana. Its addictive effects are minor and mostly psychological.

However, I'm not for the legalization of all drugs. True, a lot of the harmful effects are caused by the fact that it's illegal. If crack cocaine wasn't illegal, it would definitely be cheaper, and wouldn't reduce so many people to living on the street or committing other crimes to support their habit (such as theft and prostitution).

But, on the other hand, legalizing drugs would make them more easily available, and greatly increase the chances of someone getting addicted in the first place. Its a shame that "the war on drugs" is more focused on punishing users than treating them. More money an resources should be devoted to rehabilitation, but that doesn't mean all drugs should then be legal.

The penalties for use and possession should be reduced (It doesn't make sense to lock people up for being sick), however the the penalties for selling or transferring drugs should be greatly increased.

FTP hosting by itself isn't going to do anything on your hard drive.

Is this FTP support for downloads, or just to upload your files?
